Because this is during COVID is the only reason I am doing more than 1 star. We went in and sat at our table and waited. And waited more. It took 25 minutes just for someone to come by and take our drink orders. We ordered margaritas with no salt and it came out covered in salt. Tasted like the ocean with a hint of lime. Not drinkable. Also came with no straw which is an issue since it was frozen and surrounded by salt. We didn't bother getting any food at this point. When traveling for work a friend suggested we check out Chuy's for some local and delicious TexMex. This place was really unique in decor and ambience and I liked how extensive the menu was! I tried the Elvis Combo which features three kinds of Enchilada, a beef taco, and some crisps with queso. The secret sauce for sure is the queso!! Next time I'd skip the Enchiladas and just get tacos with extra queso! I also had a Perfect Margarita on the rocks. While it wasn't bad, I tasted my friends Blackberry blended Margarita and really loved that so highly recommend the fruit margaritas. All in all not a bad dinner and an overall good value. read more

Went here based on a recommendation. It is a Mexican diner vibe, as weird as that sounds. They have a cool little station where you get bean dip, queso dip, salsa, and some type of meat. I would say the salsa is medium spicy. The chips were different, in a good way, super thin, so good. The queso was excellent. I got a cup of tortilla soup and wasn't a fan. It was very spicy, but had little other flavor. I never add salt to anything, but the soup needed it. I also got the stacked enchiladas, which were ok, but I wouldn't get them again. I'm not sure if there is issue with the kitchen staff, or their stoves are not working well, but I don't appreciate being over charge for a really small bowl of guacamole and having cold soup. Been to Chuy's in Addison a handful of times for lunch now and thought it was finally time for a review. Damn good. I absolutely LOVE the Roasted Chicken and Cheese Chile Rellenos with Boom boom Sauce. You get two annaehim green peppers filled w/ chicken and cheese, battered and deep friend. Yum Yum. I would buy the Boom Boom sauce if it was bottled. My friend was even dipping her chips in it. We always sit in the bar area. Great service here & excellent Frozen Margaritas - there is a slight pineapple flavor which is divine. Love the Frozen Rita mixed with the Strawberry. One complaint are the chairs in the bar area. They look really cool but they wobble and rock. So be prepared to wiggle around a bit. read more

I really like Chuys and the food. This location unfortunately has a lot to be desired. I should have known there was going to be an issue when we were being seated - we saw the server at the table next to us having an involved conversation with the guest at that table. At one point we were ready to order and we're waiting while she decided to have a seat at the table with that guest and have a full blown conversation. We did eventually get to place our order and the food was outstanding but the service was less than stellar. I believe in Chuys as a brand and the food backs that up but this location definitely needs improvement. Chuy's never disappoints. I've been going to Chuy's since I was in college in Austin, which is many many years ago. In my opinion, they have the best chips and salsa. The chips are thin, crispy, warm, and all different salsas make the difference! Creamy jalapeno is the best. My favorite go-to plates are baja tacos, chuychanga and deluxe quesadillas. I visited Chuy's Addison location couple days ago, and they had a special menu during their annual hatch chile festival thing. I ordered Pedro's enchiladas (if I remember the name correctly), and it was fabulous. The cream sauce that was on the enchiladas were on point!! So yummy!! My husband and I are going to go back again, so that we can eat that special dish again before their specials are over. read more

I am typically very pleased with Chuy's but not tonight. The service was top notch. I ordered a combination plate. The chicken taquitos were very good. Stuff filled of meat and ends covered with a salsa. The Mexican rice was below average. The cheese enchiladas were the worst. I've had these before but something was off and they were over covered in that nasty red sauce. Plentiful with the chips. As always, their salsa and jalapeño ranch are great! Since I was looking for something that would be spicy, rice and chicken the waitress suggested I go for their house special called shake boom boom which is usually made of Queso but since I wanted spicy, she suggested the boom boom sauce. And, it was one of The BEST!! Chips with Jalapeño sauce,salsa and boom boom sauce was a delight to have Last but the outstanding item was the Tres Leche which is the best. I guess if you're from Dallas then you go to Mi Cocina for Tex Mex (not a fan personally). But if you're from anywhere else, Chuy's is the place to be!! Ask for the jalepeno cream dressing for your chips, then wrap up your entree for lunch tomorrow, because you must save room for the tres leches. The best. Worth every last calorie. I bring my family to Chuy's about once a week. Usually we go to this location as it has friendly customer service and fast waiters. We always enjoy the food when we go to Chuy's I would recommend the Chicka-Chicka Boom-Boom as the sauce on it is very delicious and has a good spice kick to it. Their rice and beans are well rice and beans hard to mess that up but it is very well seasoned some might say perfect. Stopped here while traveling for work and what a pleasant experience this was! Sat at the bar during happy hour (where they have $5 margs) along with a nacho bar which was free! The bartenders were very pleasant as where the other people at the bar. The wait staff was all smiling which made my experience that much better. We apologized but she never even made an attempt to clean the table or even pick up the cup but just looked at it, did nothing and give us a dirty look. Sorry. She didn't spill on purpose. We had to use our napkins to wipe up the mess. I thought she'd catch on we'd need more napkins and another drink. Nope. We had to ask for additional napkins and drink while the sopping wet napkins and empty cup sat there for the rest of the meal. Seriously? We'll stick with the location in Denton. I love Chuy's. I'm a condiment type of person so it's awesome they have so many sauces to pick from. My go to is the Big As Yo Face burrito- bean and cheese and I add onions and bell peppers to the inside. This location has a decent amount of outdoor seating so perfect for warmer weather. Their taco salads are also massive- you get a lot of food. I also like their veggie plate. I highly recommend the jalapeno ranch sauce along with the boom boom. read more

You can't go wrong with their chips, salsa, and queso - the beef, pico, and guac additions are worth it especially if you ask for it on the side. Real ones know to get the creamy jalepeño aka Crack Sauce for chips/your meal. I always get the Panchos (an appetizer of gargantuan proportions that I eat as an entree with leftovers), the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Enchiladas (just the right amount of spicy), or the Elvis Presley Memorial platter (another huge portion). Recently had the best service I've had since the pandemic with the server Zach, he was so sweet and proactive to anticipate and fulfill our needs. Perfect Patio Experience. This was our first time dining at Chuy's in Addison. We really enjoyed the large and beautifully landscaped patio. There was piped in music which played all of our favorite songs. Another highlight was our awesome server Crystal who added to our perfect patio experience. Crystal was very sweet and accommodating. She recommended some wonderful condiments (Creamy jalapeno ranch, Boom Boom and Queso dips that were all outstanding ! We highly recommend asking for Crystal on your next visit. I came into Chuy's on my lunch break. I usually try and sit at the bar because it's just me and being in the restaurant I know how frustrating one tops can be sometimes. The host was so kind to me and took me right to a booth where my server, 626 Kati R, greeted me with a smile even though I could tell she was busy. Poor girl had the man complaining behind me about food time, which is not her fault, none of this affected her ability to serve me and I think she handled everything perfectly. Chuy's is one of my favorite chains. The food is consistent the service is good and the atmosphere is always busy. I love hearing cheers of delight from people on the next table about their food. My most favorite here is their quest, it has a kick to it and I really like that. We always make sure we get it every time we are here. IF YOU ARE BLACK DO NOT EAT HERE!! This Chuy's is RACIST AF!! On 5/29 I took my woman to Chuy's because she was always talking about she never went. We arrived and I asked to be seated in the bar area because that's where the TV's were. The blonde hostess responded with that area is closed, but there were plenty of people in there and plenty of seats. She instead insisted there was another booth available. I asked why we can't sit where I requested, and she ran to the back and came back with the same answer "that area is closed." She then proceeded to walk us to the back of the restaurant where it was 2 other black families sitting. I immediately was disgusted but didn't make a scene because I wanted my lady to be comfortable but she could tell I was pissed. 5 mins later the hostess brought another black family to sit right by us. They ended up living stating "why is she putting all the black people in one area!" Ok so now I know I'm not trippin. Soon after that 2 more black women came and she yet again tried to sit them in the back of the restaurant. I made eye contact with the hostess as she was walking them back and she immediately became frantic. She still tried to sit them there but they said they were about to leave for the same reason so she sat them a lil closer to the front. Keep in mind there are plenty of seats throughout the restaurant available, it wasn't packed at all. There is no reason you should be trying to seat all the black people together especially in the back of the restaurant like it's the Jim Crow era. UNACCEPTABLE read more

We LOVE Chuy's and decided to visit this location while we were traveling and staying in Dallas for the weekend. I would say that we have had better food in other locations. We had great service by the heavily involved hostess and manager but our waiter didn't seem like he fit the atmosphere. You could tell he was just there for his paycheck. Kiddos got Mac and cheese and as always, the taste was on point however, it was cold. We split fajitas and some of the pieces of chicken had a rubbery texture. We really wanted dessert but the waiter just dropped our tickets at the table before we were even finished eating. It just wasn't worth the hassle hunting him down again. We would visit this location again in hopes that maybe it was just a bad day. read more

I have eaten at Chuy's since there was only one in Austin. I now eat here once a year to see if the chili rellenos are back. They aren't. So that still sucks. But Wow. I see that not having the most popular and unique Chuy's dish on the menu is not the only problem. What happened to their delicious food? Maybe the same genius that took rellenos off the menu also cut cost on everything else. Sad to watch such an ikon of Texmex slowly put itself out of business.
