Chuy's is an after church staple for us and our friends and its quickly becoming a favorite of mine. Although Addison can be a little cray on Beltline, the location is pretty easy to get to. My fiance and I split the appetizer plate and we were both pretty blown away by its variety and tastiness. Ordering their special ranch dressing is always the way to go. The staff is always friendly, although our waiter on Sunday was a little soft-spoken for a busy lunch rush. His waiter skills were on point, but he was so quiet, his ninja like ways of popping up with a refill were a little unnerving...in a good way of course. Just one question: Are people afraid of spicy food in Dallas? I came here for the first time about a month ago with high expectations when I noticed the overly extravagant bright neon sign posted high enough where you can spot it immediately from the highway. I know it's not authentic mexican food, but for Tex-Mex at least kick it up a notch! The chips & salsa were delicious and the happy hour specials were not too shabby, but the food was........... how shall I say it more nicely? Brace yourself okay? Are you ready? It was BLAND!!! I had the taco platter which included 2 hard shell beef tacos, refried beans, and mexican rice. If the refried beans have a dull flavor, then why not add a bit of cheese and diced onions on top of it to make it 8% more exciting? The rice even had no flavor, so I added some of that jalepeno ranch sauce to give it some personality. The tacos were crunchy but the meat tasted very bland. Seriously? Why serve tacos worse than Taco Bell? What was really odd was when I asked for hot sauce and they told me they don't have Tabasco or Cholula, but they could bring me freshly made hot sauce from the kitchen. I'm assuming what my server brought me was hot salsa because it was served in a ramekin cup with a spice level of 2 If you've ever eaten at an Asian restaurant in the DFW area, you would know that spice level 2 = Kindergarten hot. Nope, not hot enough for me. I didn't even break a sweat! I absolutely hate eating non-spicy & flavorless tacos, and for that reason alone this restaurant gets a D grade. read more

My boyfriend and I normally go to a different Mexican restaurant nearby, but decided to give this place a try. I can't tell you how the food was because we actually walked out. At 830 on a Thursday, when they weren't overly crowded it took nearly five minutes to get a table. There was supposedly "no wait". Once seated we waited for more than 15 minutes for a waiter to materialize. No one ever showed up even to take drink orders. In a crowded restaurant environment like Beltline Road in Addison, this level of service is not a recipe for success. We will not be back. read more

Let me first state that I am an avid Chuys fan. This location is the worst I've been to. The front of house people are consistently rude, unobservant and would rather be anywhere than at work. I've had a little more luck with the waiters. Today was the last straw though. After being on hold for 5 min I was finally able to place my to-go order. Shocker, I was missing half the food and the food I did receive wasn't made correctly. I ordered 2 items and chips and queso people!!! How hard is that? On top of which my bag broke on the way inside. I cut them a little slack when they first opened but no more! The service was attentive and friendly. The food was edible but not the food I remember from the Knox location. The real problem began when we ordered cheese nachos to-go for my son who could not be at dinner with us that evening. The attached photograph shows you what we received. We called the Addison Chuy's location to inform them of what we had received. They apologized profusely and promised to rectify the situation with a $45.00 gift card which would be mailed to us. This happened late August. Fast forward to today. While I was perusing through photographs on my tablet I saw the photograph I had taken of Chuy's "nachos" and realized I had never received the promised gift certificate. I happened to be in the area and decided to stop by and speak with a manager about the gift certificate that was never received. The manager, Paige, was quite the opposite of helpful. She started off by asking me for my credit card statement from the date of service. If I had paid cash I would have been totally out of luck. Paige essentially said because I did not have a credit card statement or the name of the manger on duty that evening that there was "nothing she could do" for me. In the midst on the conversation I was actually questioned and criticized for waiting for so long to address the issue. To be honest with you, after our rather unforgettable dining experience it is no surprise that we forgot all about Chuy's. It ended with no problem resolution, plenty of attitude, and no apologies. read more

Let me start off by saying Chuy's is one of my favorite places!! My wife and I eat here all the time! This review and the one star is based solely on today's experience. So, here's the deal, we walked in and the young man at the host stand was super sweet, talked to us about the t-shirts and I told him I would probably get one on the way out. (I have more than I can count, but can always get one more!) He then led us to our table, there were only two other tables with people at them at this time (it was about 11:20 or so, they hadn't been open long) and there were two different servers, one for each table. Well, I guess that's all they could handle because we sat there for 15 minutes, neither one of the TWO servers acknowledged us, not even a simple "someone will be right with you", NOTHING! Oh, they knew we were there, they both made eye contact at different times, but NEVER, not even ONCE, said anything!! What kind of customer service is this?!? The straw that broke the camels back and made us walk our was we could here them discussing who was going to wait on us... but no one ever did!!! As I said, Chuy's is my favorite place to eat... I will be back eventually, but someone needs to re-train the servers on proper customer service skills. read more

Let 's start with the obvious. It's Chuy's, it's the same quality of food as any other Chuy's, which is still good. Get the jalapeño ranch with your chips and salsa, well worth it. The problem I've always found with this location over any other is the service. It's bad unless you're in a large party. No-brainer that servers will focus on the tables with the greater likelihood of a larger tip given the size of the group. The only issue is that they have a terrible habit of forgetting anyone else altogether, where most restaurant staff find a reasonable balance. I had a particularly bad experience on a to-go order that compelled me to review them. The score is significantly higher based on the food from past visits. I called in a to-go order as I left my house (takes about 10 minutes, much like the usual prep time). The first attempt I was asked to hold and then hung up on. The second attempt saw me placed on hold for 8 minutes and forgotten about until someone else picked up. I pulled into the parking lot seconds after completing my order. I was told 10-15 minutes, so I parked up in the lot and decided I wouldn't take up one of the kerbside to-go spots until my order should be ready. I moved to a kerbside spot 15 minutes later and called to say I was there. I was told someone would be with me immediately. 10 minutes pass and no sign of life, so I call back and am told someone will be out in a moment. Another 5 minutes and still nothing, so I call again and receive the same response. After I'd waited 20 minutes past the time I was originally told, I saw a server go to another car that had just pulled up. Often, they will ask if you had also been taken care of, but this one didn't. By this point, I figured I would walk inside and check what the issue was. I had already spoken to the two people at the counter, so thought that was clearly a waste of time, and asked for the manager. Up steps a gentleman named Marshall, who looked as if he'd been awoken from a deep sleep in a store closet, to ask how my day was going. 'It was good until I came here, thanks'. He asks why that may be, to which I point out that I've been sat in the parking lot for nearly 40 minutes because his staff had trouble using telephones. He decides that no-one knew I was there, so I point out that the two people I had spoken to are also present and clearly knew. I then made the point that my order would be cold since it has presumably sat on the shelf for over 25 minutes. He huffs that it has only just come out of the kitchen in the last 30 seconds (I'd been standing within 6ft of it for the past 5 minutes by this time) and dumps the cold bag in my hands. I asked why neither of the two people I spoke to, nor the girl that served the car next to me, had the sense or ability to communicate any delay to me. This was greeted with a look of contempt and a demand for my card. He then ran off and left the card and receipt with the young guy that originally took the order and two of the three calls. Marshall didn't excuse the failings of his staff, he didn't apologize, no offer of a discount, nothing at all. I don't need a cheaper meal, but a simple apology would have been greatly appreciated. I would rather drive further to the Plano West or Knox locations than deal with this kind of idiocy again. read more

i visited this location yesterdat during kaboom town and i undetstand is probably the bussiest day of their year but the servers attitude was terrible. I guess I prefer a different type of tex-mex than Chuy's offers. I can tell from the crowd in Addison TX that they love Chuy's and that's great. Although it was crowded, our table for 2 got immediate seating. As it was our 1st time we were given ample time to read the menu and decide. We ordered chips & queso and the queso was good. I had the Chicka-Chicka Boom Boom enchilada's. Freshly-roasted, hand-pulled chicken & cheese with Boom-Boom sauce, made with cheese, roasted New Mexican green chiles, tomatillos, green onions, cilantro and lime juice. They were tasty, but a bit dry. Chicken was well cooked, but lacked even the roasted taste. The combination of the ingredients that went into the meal worked. I didn't care for the rice that came with the plate and I opted for the charro beans and liked them. Salsa's were fine as were the chips and tortilla's. I've developed an appreciation for the green hatch chili's and appreciated that they are incorporated into almost all items on the menu. I would suggest that if you haven't tried it, give it a shot it might be just up your alley. I would go back, but only if someone insisted as I know there are, to my taste buds better options for tex-mex read more

Crowded so had dinner at bar. Bar staff overwhelmed. Open seats not cleared and dirty. Bartender took my order twice. What? Had to ask for chips and sauce. Got food. Kept trying to get eating utensils. No luck. Another bar staff asked me "how do you like your food?". Replied "if I could get eating utensils I could try it and let you know". Had to ask for second drink and water refill. Had to ask to clear my plate and then asked for "to go box". It was dirty with leftover food in it from another customer. Maybe just a off night or too busy to provide better service? Would go back to give another try. Food was very good. read more

I really like this location. The food is really tasty and not as greasy as other tex-mex restaurants. The staff is really friendly and welcoming. The only thing I don't like is that they won't refill your drinks unless you specifically ask for it. You might run out of drink and wait for someone to fill your drink up but it won't happen unless you actually ask for it. This could be because the place is really, really busy. read more

Ohhh boy.. So this (guy?) Zach B is a waiter and seemed decent at first but through out my boyfriend and I's dinner - we were being starred at by a group of old white men making *cute* lil comments, with THEIR waiter - all immediately looking away when we would look at the. We're an interracial couple, so naturally we felt uncomfortable.. and all while OUR waiter, Zach, was being a complete fucking dickhead, not letting us relocate after *politely* requesting to do so & explaining why (& there was barely anyone in there - customer wise.) So, in conclusion, Chuys in Addison (that USED to get a lot of my business) will NEVER EVER get it again. Or anyone I know for that matter. Greasy food, employees AND customers!! Sad sad. read more

I have eaten at the Austin location for years so I was excited to see them opening in the DFW area! The newness of the staff is obvious but I am sure that will improve with time. The food was delish as usual I had the taco salad, portions are huge and there are always leftovers to take home, and YAY I can get my jalapeño ranch fix. Ladies and gents once you try the sauce you will want to put it on everything! This is one of my fave chain Mexican places, you can't beat their happy hour specials and the "nacho bar" is a great bonus! Had to ask for salsa 4 times. Never got our soup. Our Valley Combos were amazing and the beer was cold. Kudos the the kitchen and bar staff for that. We came early to beat the rush but it still didn't work out for us. One of our Valley Combos was mistakenly made with a shrimp relleno, that's great for my girlfriend who loves shrimp but bad for the table that got the wrong one and thank goodness she isn't allergic to shrimp. Included "special instructions" for half red and half green ("Christmas"), which they did, and they were both great. This place opened last week and it's already doing really well. I came to see my friend Dray at the bar and he recommended the Chika Chika boom boom. It was fantastic!
