    Classic chicken sandwich
    Sarah M.

Worst classic chicken sandwich I've had!!! Wayyyyyy too much mayo (see pic & I already ate a bunch). Either put lettuce in it or not... not table scraps. Bun, fried chicken, mayo & table scrap lettuce is all this is. Nothing refreshing added to it such as tomatoes or pickles. I feel sick now... yuck! On another note, the previous time when my cousin picked up their fried chicken (regular & spicy), coleslaw & honey biscuit, it was so tasty. The 2 star is based on my sandwich purchase only.

Location/Service This place is a little south of Bur Oak and McCowan - within a plaza where there's a grocery store and Shoppers Drug Mart. Plenty of parking available. The place right now is blocked off with indoor dining - but it seems pretty big with several table seating available. Good social distancing measurements in place with plexiglass and such. Food I've heard pretty good things about this place - in particular their biscuits. So order an extra order of biscuits along with 5 pc wings. The wings were pretty standard - similar to other food chains - with a crispy skin and juicy tender meat. Portion wise is pretty big and can definitely fill you up. The biscuits - are amazing! The honey butter flavour they made was so addictive. It had a very crunchy and sweet surface, and then once you bite it is a very soft and fluffy. I would just order the biscuits next time when I crave for something.

Great to have another option for fried chicken in the neighbourhood! I love how crunchy and crispy the breading is! Even stayed crispy even after 1 hour! The chicken is moist and juicy. Check out their special online which can be different when you order at the store. We ordered the 10 piece 5+5 Dark meat Spicy Chicken for $21.95.

This was my first time trying out Church's Chicken. It seems like they're a cross of Popeyes (more flavour) & Krispy's Chicken (less oily). I order via Uber and got a 4 piece combo & 10 piece "spicier spicy". ...I guess there was a mix up in the order and I ended up getting someone else's 12 piece combo & apple pie. I guess it good for me but prob not the other person who got my order LOL...depending on how you look at since we got completely different items. My order has 1 biscuit, fries, drink, all spicy chicken. What I ended up getting: onion ring, cold slaw, 6 biscuits, apple pie, mix of spicy and original chicken. Aside from the mix up and focusing on the food itself; I prefer the spicy over non-spicy! It gave it a nice kick. The pieces of chicken were small compared to Krispy's and it didn't have a lot of oil. The biscuits were sooo good! Super fluffy and a bit sweet. And the apple pie! Omg warm it up and you get a crispy outside that tasted like fried chicken and apple inside it was great!

Another Family Favourite!!! There are so many good chicken places in Markham, and so hard to choose which one is the best. Churchs Chicken is a chain of Fast Food Chicken Restaurants that originated in the US in San Antonio TX in 1952. It expanded into Canada in the last decade or so. We are fortunate enough in Markham to have a franchise that opened in 2017 in a plaza at Bur Oak and McCowan Rd. Church's serves Fried Chicken, Chicken Tenders, nuggets and chicken sandwiches as its main offerings. Throughout the year Churchs often features promotional offerings which are different flavours of its chicken. I have been going to Church's Chicken in Markham since it opened. I love all of their offerings, and I think I've tried everything on the menu. So far my experiences with the staff and the food have been mostly positive. My only peeve is that you can't currently download coupons from the app or the website yet in Canada. There is a link to the coupons but it just leads back to an information page on the website. They do however distribute coupons through flyer distribution in the immediate local area. Although I'm only 5 minutes away by driving, I have yet to see a Church's Chicken Coupon flyer in my mailbox. Now to the Food!! I have had their fried chicken, their wings, all of their chicken sandwiches and some of the promo items. The fries are crinkle-cut and do stay warm for at least 5-10 minutes before getting soggy. The gravy is very good, not spectacular but still very good with a nice medium thick consistancy. The Fried Chicken is always crispy with an enjoyable Amercian-Style batter which tastes very good. The sandwichs always a have a very generous size chicken patty. I ordered the wings recently as a daily special, and they were a bit dry. However I could not be disappointed with the portion size, I think a got a couple more wings than I was supposed to. Wings aside, if you stick to their main offerings such as Fried Chicken, Chicken Sandwiches, Wraps and tenders you won't be disappointed. Give Church's Chicken Canada a try if you haven't already.

I love Church's chicken. I have frequented the Scarborough, Mississauga, and Brampton locations, thanks to Groupons. My go-to meal is chicken fingers with a side (I go with either gravy or coleslaw) and a honey biscuit. A fountain drink also comes with the combo. Last Wednesday, I ordered lunch from a different fried chicken place (starts with P and ends with -opeye's) that is close to where I live. It has great food that I enjoy. However, when I got my meal, the biscuit wasn't its usual uniform shape. It looked like someone wanted a snack badly and broke off a piece. It was weird. Anyway, I was out after work, running my usual errands. I remembered that Markham has its own Church's Chicken that I had yet to visit. I decided to drop by on my way home to get one thing: honey biscuits. It was my first time strictly buying honey biscuits. Trust me. They are the best biscuits you'll pop in your mouth. This place is in a plaza that I frequented often over a decade ago. FreshCo used to be the lone Sobeys that Markham once had. Church's is closer to McCowan Road, next to Babu. I pulled in and found a parking spot. It was fairly busy at around 7 pm. There are a few food eateries, which explains folks exuding hangry vibes. I walked into the eatery. As expected, you can't dine inside. There were stickers on the floor where you need to stand. Unfortunately, many folks, including the man behind me, weren't abiding by them. The man was more like a foot behind me. The order area was protected with clear plastic that was suspended from the ceiling. A woman took my order. I ordered six honey biscuits. That's all I wanted. I got order number 99, paid with my debit card, and walked as far away from the crowd waiting for their orders as I could. As expected, if you are ordering something that isn't chicken, your order is ready faster. Mine was ready in five minutes. I felt like I was in the VIP lineup. Oh, the stares from hangry customers as I walked over to the counter. I didn't care. I was about to fetch my yummy honey biscuits. I thanked the woman who took my order. She wished me a good day. I reciprocated. Here's a first. I had ordered Thai food. I also managed to eat two of these honey biscuits with my pineapple fried rice and veggie spring rolls. So good! The honey biscuits as this place are scrumptious. They are crunchy, fluffy, buttery, slightly sweet and salty, yummy, and perfect. They are also great from breakfast the following day when you reheat them. This place was clean. I will need to return and get my usual chicken fingers combo and see how it goes. (359)

Mom wanted to drop by and pick something up but I've been here a couple times so thought I'd give a quick review! Overall, although the place is quite convenient to where I live, getting food from this place is always a pain. Parking is fine, staff is fine but they're always so slow...I get that the place is busy but every single visit is. 15~ min wait. And although the chicken is decent, there's a Popeyes 10 mins down the block which has arguably better chicken, relatively equal prices, and a hell of a lot less wait times. Other than that, I don't have any huge qualms about the place (other than the existence of Popeyes nearby). FYI, the restaurant still has no indoor seating as I'm writing this review. Overall, the decor is alright. Lacks a bit of personality but we are really here for the chicken right? We got the 2 PC combo. It comes with a biscuit, fries, and a drink. It's about "normal price" (which is pretty expensive for 2 PCs) of 9.99. If you like fried chicken and stuck in this plaza, I'd say it's a pretty decent fix. The only thing is that their "spicy" chicken isn't very spicy. The biscuits are more sweet than salty so does depend on your preference. One place their food sticks out is there fries. They have thick crinkle cut fries which are a bit different from most of the fast food places in the area! So although I'd say the food is what you pay for and is a good fried chicken fix, if you're looking for "fast" food, look somewhere else. Because this one comes with a 15 minute wait (minimum).

    4 pcs chicken combo ($11.29)
    Abby L.

Ordered the 4 pcs spicy chicken combo which comes with a side, a biscuit and a drink. Chicken was good, the batter was crispy and the meat was juicy. They had run out of spicy drumsticks and offered us regular ones instead. In comparison, spicy was much better as it adds a nice kick. The biscuit was super fluffy but I found it too sweet for me. We ended up adding an extra side because we couldn't decide between fries and onion rings. Fries were decent but stay away from the onion rings. You literally get maybe 5 rings (if even, since some of the rings weren't full). It was so not worth! For a fast food restaurant, it was a little long of a wait, but overall a decent place for a bite. Really can't go wrong with fried chicken!

I've been here about 4 times total and have been impressed each and every time. Quick service and just about the best fried chicken burger you can get for $7. One thing I really enjoy about their burgers is the cheese as not many other chicken burgers have. The chicken is well seasoned and has just the right amount of crunch. The special deals for Monday (Any sandwich for $5.49) and Friday (Classic chicken sandwich for $3.49) seem to be the best value if you're looking for chicken burgers. I will definitely be coming back often. Probably make it a Monday ritual. *Update: I went here just this Monday for the Monday special and got 2 Mexicana sandwiches and 2 sides for only $15! Totally worth it. The chicken patty is twice as thick as a McChicken chicken patty.

I walked in on a quiet Wednesday this week. Actually no line up to order, but line up for waiting the food. I used a paper coupon to order 6 pieces including two biscuits, one mashed potatoes or gravy. The server Harsh was very understanding and knowing that i am the first time customer. She offered to give me white meat (extra charge each piece) but free of charge. The experience was smooth and speedy. My order was right and fresh. It is similar as Popeye's , the better advantage was the size of each chicken is the same and fairly big in comparison with Popeye's. I don't find the size consistency at Popeye's but here, you could clearly see the chicken tray from far end . You could tell they gave the best size consistency. The taste is juicy even though white meat is often very dry or hard texture. I recommend church's chicken however the price is very competitive with Popeye's, with coupon their meal is worth more than other fry chicken fast food restaurants

Super Juicy Chicken. We went because my hubby loves their fried chicken and their honey butter biscuits. Also just in case you didnt know.. they actually have a special everyday. We went on thursdays for their special of 3 pc Chicken for $6.99 . We went 2 weeks in a row now and my daughter loves the chicken. Its super juicy. One you take a bite... all the juice starts flowing. My husband loves it so much that he orders an xtra 3 pc to carry for lunch the next day.

The first visit was ok. I purposely choose to dine in because I want to have fresh deep-fried chicken and it was ok. I ordered a Mexicana Sandwich combo with fries, a Tex Supreme Sandwich with onion rings, 3 pcs of Original Chicken (comes with a Honey-Butter Biscuit and mashed potato and a soft drink. I used a coupon and the total was $25.97. I like Mexicana Sandwich more than Tex Supreme Sandwich because it was more flavorful and it is spicy. Tex Supreme was an original fried chicken sandwich with no surprise. Fries and Onion rings were average. I am not a fan of their mashed potato because it tasted like a "not natural" potato and I don't like the gravy either. They also charge 50 cents for a dipping sauce even I ordered Original Fried Chicken vs. MCD was 25 cents each. Their dipping sauce was not house-branded sauce. Overall you can find a better place at the same price point. If you are in the area, you could give this a try.

It's probably best to come here when it's not a Monday or Friday. Sadly, Friday was my only available day, so I spent 1.5 hours to get my driver's licence renewed. The Indian restaurant next door looked like it had shuttered for good, which was sad. My original thought was to hit the bakery. An even better discovery was The Wing Spot between the bakery and Service Ontario. Perfect! I walked in. There was a mom-daughter duo having lunch. I was greeted by the nicest woman. I went with the special that got me a pound of wings, chili onion fries, and pop for $19 before taxes. I got honey garlic wings. She said that I could grab any canned pop from the fridge. I liked the variety. I saw peach, pineapple, and strawberry Crush. What got my attention was blackberry Dr Pepper. I got it. I paid with my credit card. I tapped and was good. Our go-to order is the quintuple (5 lbs of wings; 3 flavours). We usually get 2 lbs of nero's epilogue, 2 lbs of cleopatra, 1lb of pandora's box and some beers. I think All Stars might've been the first chain wing franchise in toronto (even before Wild Wings but don't quote me on that). If you get breaded wings they always come out nice and crispy. The meat is pretty good (you'll get a dry one every so often) and there's a decent amount of sauce in most baskets (sometimes the chef has an off night and doesn't put enough sauce but he's pretty consistent). The wings aren't the biggest but they're decently sized. Is it the best wings I've had in toronto? Nope. That title would belong to King of Wings in Stouffville or the now defunct Fanzone Wings & Ribs in Scarborough. Both which have the biggest, meatiest, juiciest, crispiest wings I've ever had. But All Stars is always solid. As a chain, I much prefer them over Wild Wings tbh. The service can vary greatly lol. Each month, my friend and I get a different waitress and we've gotten some bad ones to some really good ones. Crispy on the outside and tender inside. 1/2 slab ribs dinner: should be 6 ribs - received 8 (a small size). Whoop! The meat was tender and good flavour. Cold slaw: on the sweet side but good. Cornbread: moist and good. Service was very attentive.

Ribs - 8/10 very nicely, smoked ribs not fall off the bone and it was slightly salty. But definitely hit the spot. Wings original smoked- 9/10 very good wings. If only it wasn't as expensive. Basically fall off the bone no issues good smoke flavor through the entire thing. Overall, really good experience would come back and try the brisket in the future at the table. Next to us said some good things about that and the pulled pork.

This Korean fried chicken place used to be much better. They get 2.5 stars…read more Korean seasoned mild was on the dry side, probably due to a combination of halal chicken & it being air fried. It was crispy but there was a piece of cartilage. The sauce was below average & almost not spicy at all - just sweet & sour. It was lacking something & not just spiciness. Most of my honey butter fries were varying degrees of undercooked inside & they should've been crispier outside. The flavouring was the usual honey butter powder. I like that they poked holes in the takeout boxes so the food didn't get too soggy.

We went for the lunch special and tried Original, Soy Garlic, and Spicy Butter Chicken, with fries tossed in Honey Butter seasoning for one of the sets. I had no idea what to expect walking in, and was honestly surprised to learn they use air fryers here. Now, taste-wise, let's be real. I've had better fried chicken elsewhere and yes, there are spots that push a bit more in quality. But here's the catch: at this price point, it's rather impossible to complain. Sure, the sauce toss was lazy, and a few bites were a bit on the funky-smelling side, but it all somehow landed within the range of "worth it." Fries were a lot crispier than expected, and so was the batter. Air fried or not, the texture really surprised me. It's weirdly satisfying. Getting into the place was also a bit awkward for a first-timer, but I'll chalk that up to the building's layout, not the restaurant's fault. Overall, it's one of those spots that feels like a random find, and turns out a lot better than you gave it credit for at first. No complaints here, and honestly hope they stick around. I wouldn't mind coming back when craving something easy and affordable that still hits the spot!

Really appreciate it! The chickens are delicious here, and you can get them boneless, wings, or meaty thighs. There are spicy and non-spicy options, so good for kids. Honey garlic flavour is usually my go-to, and I enjoy the thighs very much. The meat is juicy, meaty and very flavourful. Spicy rice cakes, cheesey corn on sizzling plate and kimchi fried rice are also popular items :)

Staff was friendly, I ordered ahead online and when we arrived for the pick up, we still had to wait 15mins for our order to finish. Small resto, not too many tables but nice and clean. The chicken wasnt bad, only that there was no distinct flavour between the 2 fried chickens I got. They both tasted the same. Had a nice sweet sauce on it. The only thing was that the batter was thin so the sauce made the chicken a little soggy, which was a slight turn off. The so-dukk was a bit on the dry side, the rice cakes were over fried and chewy. Also seemed like they just used regular hot dogs. There was very little sauce in it so it wasnt that great to eat. Not sure if we'll return to try the rest of the menu as this was a bit disappointing for the price.

Okay, just like previous review or ONLY REVIEW. This place sucks; it doesn't even deserve our…read morereviews...so this is a warning! I don't want to be sexist but my girlfriend and I came here because her coworkers (all men) suggested this place on Friday. I really don't want to judge men's taste but this was a horrible choice because there are better wing places in the area. We knew it existed because we live close to the community. We never visited or been to this place because there has been bad or no reviews on Google search. Also, from outside it looks like a tavern and it was exactly what we saw from inside. Just like a tavern, we saw two locals you would find in old community bars. The décor was old and run down...I know it's a bad word of choice but it's a SHIT HOLE! Whoever took over the business obviously didn't bother to renovate. The food is disgusting because the wings were half the size it should be for $10.99 for 10 chicken wings (size of frozen microwavable chicken wings) the flavour was not what menu described and they couldn't get category of spiciness. We also ordered fried pickles and it was the only thing they could get right but nothing spectacular. I can do this at home with my deep fryer. One of the guys ordered Quesadillas and it took him awhile to chow down because it was dry. We ordered beer on tap, bottle, and shots of whiskey. Nothing bad about it...alcohol is alcohol. The only problem I found with liquor was that they had different shot glasses for 8 people. It's not what you would expect in an establishment because their glassware probably came from a home collection. The service was not up to par, did you see this coming?!?!?! Of course. We haven't even sat down for 5 minutes and the Asian server/bartender were rushing us to order (didn't get a chance to look at menu) When we asked for a moment, that moment was half an hour ago (probably cooking in the kitchen because we were late and our friends ordered) did I mention, we were the only customers plus 2 locals sitting at the bar. The real question is? How they are still open? Who knows? Overall, if you are looking for bad food, service, and nobody to bother you. This is the place to be. *ahem* I won't be coming here again. If somebody suggests again, I will pass or recommend another location.
