Just stumbled in this place randomly and was delightfully surprised. Food was great and value was there. It's made to order cuz I had to wait but very good and hot. Maybe give it 2 mins before even trying to avoid burning your mouth. I would vote the waffle fries are better than crinkle cut. Totally personal preference. Service was great from the staff. This joint serves up great fried chicken: crispy, juicy & tasty. The batter is light yet not greasy. The mashed potato was coarsely mashed, with some skin & slightly unevenly cooked. The gravy was good & not too salty. The creamy coleslaw was creamy & crunchy but a bit one dimensional - just sour. It needed more herbs. Homemade BBQ Mayo Dip was pretty good. The wedges were a generous portion: made in-house & pretty good though a few were a bit underdone. They were a bit on the salty side too, and I have high salt tolerance. The service was pretty standard but they were friendly enough. The food came out pretty quickly and everything that was hot was hot and the cold things were cold, something that doesn't always happen everywhere despite having that as a basic expectation. The taters were good (can't go wrong with taters), the chicken was hot, crispy and juicy. My only complaint was that it could have a bit more seasoning but it wasn't bland per se, just a bit more and it would be perfect in my mind. I actually want to give this place a 4.5/5 but I can't so I gave it a 5 because they do seem to be a small locally owned business. The place has a coffee shop vibes inside but they also do have some high chairs for children so you can sit down if you should decide to do that. My friends and I always joked that this place looked like a front for something nefarious but since moving to Aurora, I had to try this very highly rated chicken joint. Claims like "better than KFC, Popeyes, places downtown, etc..." are not wrong! The chicken here is so good. Crispy, juicy, seasoned nicely, and not super greasy, it's everything you want in fried chicken. So far we have tried the chicken sandwich and the strips. The chicken sandwich is topped perfectly with crisp lettuce, pickles and Mayo and the strips served with a choice of sauce. We went with a bbq Mayo which was awesome and I believe I heard them say it's homemade? I haven't had just the fried chicken pieces but plan on it when the craving hits. The sides are also awesome, we've had the tater tots, fries and poutine, all of which were fresh and generously sized, especially the poutine. The tots were almost onion flavored, perfectly fried and just so tasty. It's not super cheap eats but it's definitely reasonable and good value. They often have specials posted in store and on Uber eats. The people working there are polite and friendly. It's a bit of a wait once you order so I recommend ordering first and then going to pick up your food if you're local, otherwise you'll wait around 10-15 minutes. The location is in a tiny plaza, attached to a Mac's milk convenience store. The inside is a bit dingy, might need a bit of a facelift but there is a small area for dining in during non-covid times. I imagine this is 99% a takeout spot as the ambiance is nothing special. In terms of covid, they seem to be following the rules quite well, I only felt uncomfortable once while picking up as there were quite a feel people inside the small store. Otherwise there is a barrier between the kitchen/cashier and the public, and the staff seemed to be all wearing masks. First ever quarantine take out! And first review since before the quarantine! My favourite about the chicken was the skin - perfect texture. Perfectly crispy. The chicken itself wasn't dry at all! It paired really well with the gravy. Waffle fries were beautifully crafted. Sooo good with gravy. We made some corn on the side and it complimented everything so well! Smaller chain store. The chicken is fresh to order. And flavourful. The only thing so.eone might not like is the fact that there is no spicy chicken option . But honestly it has a lot of peppers inside the marinate. So I think overall it's still a great option. Did myself a little favour and tried this restaurant for the first time a few days ago. We had always drove by and said that we should try it. There isn't going to be much to comment for its decor in the restaurant as it is currently covid. So let's concentrate on the food. Wow. Just one simple word. The breading they use is very light and crispy!You don't think that's possible after years of KFC and Popeyes right? WRONG. This place uses a tempura frying technique making it super crispy without the heavy stuff. I felt great after eating such a strong food. THAT is why I gave this place a 5 star review. It is so rare that fried chicken can be done so well without a heavy buttermilk presence. Can I mention that the chicken is also super moist?! They also marinated well, giving it ample flavour. They also have amazing prices and deals on their menu which I feel is completely justifiable without a drink. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be back. It's a sad day. Chuck's chicken plus used to be the hands down best chicken place I'd ever eaten at. They renamed themselves to one of the worst names I've ever heard of. What the hell is a hunny benny anyway? Lol. From there the slide downward began. The quality of chicken should be first. It's not. It's now greasy and the oil soaks right through the cardboard boxes. The value should be second. It's not. A breast is not a breast and a strip is not a strip here anymore. Their breast meat is 80% removed for their strips and then a tiny portion left on the bone and over battered and then deep fried to give the appearance you're getting a big piece of meat. You're not... you're getting a lot of bone and batter. The strips for that matter are now cut in half so you effectively get 50% of what you paid for a year ago. Lastly, the sauces. Each one costs 50 cents and that's all you'll get. Half a full condiment container. I thought it was a bad pour on my spicy mayo when I pulled it out of the bag and saw it half full. Nope. All four sauces were barely half full. I wanted this place to stay perfect the way it used to be. It hasn't. They've stopped caring about their product and it really shows. Now I have to go looking for another chicken place. Sad day indeed. read more

My friend raved about this so we went. The meal price was $6.99 for the fried chicken burger, small side and drink. I choose the vitamin water but didn't know she charged it on top of the $6.99. So I paid for the drink separately. She didn't tell me it wasnt included in the meal promotion. I didn't get the free drink that was supposed to come with my meal. That really annoyed me. My friend paid so I didn't notice the overcharge error until later. I also didn't like how she combined my order with my friends. I wanted to pay separately. My friend who has been there many times also mentioned that the side portions are extremely small. He said it looked like I got 5 onion rings. My box wasn't even filled. He also said that the small sides from the B section were like a "1 spoonful serving." aka. One bite! In terms of the food, it was pretty good. The chicken was super crispy and the spicy mayo was delicious. The bun was oddly soft and squishy. More soft than any other bread. It was also the perfect amount of spicy. The onion rings were okay. Bar none the best fried chicken I've had. Nevermind KFC and Popeyes, Chucks is much better. Cost, taste, sides are all 5/5. I have so far tried the chicken sandwich as well as the chicken strips and both have been great. The homemade dipping sauces are delicious - there's a smoky and spicy one that's really tasty. Super crispy fried chicken, I just wish they offered a spicy option like a Popeyes. Adding our own hot sauce was okay but took away from the crunch. Where Chuck's blew us away was their sides... we tried wedges, which were bite sized, coated in chicken coating and really delicious. The Pompoms (tater tots) had a slight onion flavour and hubby just loved them! The macaroni salad was a bit sweet but the pasta was nicely al dente, and had crunchy celery giving a real homemade feel. The deep fried Mac and cheese bites were addictive and were devoured on the drive home. Unexpected bonus... they offer CPlus Orange! I haven't seen that pop in years, but they have a source and now I do too! A serious fan and we will be back. Note to self - the mango icy is tasty but gives you brain freeze! read more

I was really sad when I saw Mary Brown's gone from this location... to my surprise this place is even better! We were looking at the specials sign outside when a friendly staff invited us inside. The décor is exactly the same as Mary Brown's, with the floors redone and cleaned up a bit. We ordered the 6 piece & medium wedges for $13.99 - they have specials Monday - Friday 4-8PM and all day weekends. The specials are similar to Mary Brown's (2 sandwiches for $8.99, 11 pc for $16.99, family special for $26.99). We ordered to go and as soon as I got in the car, it smelled amazing. The fried chicken was fresh, moist, crisp and still piping hot! The wedges were also extremely fresh and there was way more than enough food for two people. Alright let me get right into it; this is the best fried chicken I have had in my life. I do not say that lightly either, as I have eaten my fair share of greasy, crispy, crunchy chicken in my day. Chucks takes the cake. Number 1 no questions asked. The chicken sandwiches are superb, starting with a light fluffy bun, crispy seasoned chicken and the perfect combination of condiments. I am a fat guy, in my fourties and I would conservatively say that I have eaten over 8,000 chicken sandwiches in my lifetime. I dare you to find a better chicken Sammy on gods green earth. Hidden jem! I was told about this place so decided to give this a try! For the price and the quality you get, my gosh is well worth it if you ask me! I normally would stay away from deep fried food because everyone knows it's bad for you so it better be good if I am to eat them! :) I gotta say, this chicken place is well worth the trip just by the chicken quality alone. It's crispy on the outside and very juicy from the inside. And most importantly, its very fresh and smoking hot when u take the first byte! So be careful when u eat next time! Also tried the burger and it is crunchy and meaty as well! Last but not least, the fries/potatoe wedges are very fresh too- fresh off fryer and piping hot, crispy outside and soft inside! Yum! Now, given the good food quality and the good price(eg. 2 can dine special for $10.49 with 4 pieces of huge chicken, 2 sides and 2 drinks), I can give this place a 4 stars without any hesitation. This located used to be Mary Browns Fried Chicken. The new owner took over and it's now called Chuck's Chicken. My boyfriend keeps raving about this place so I had to try it. The service was amazing everyone's super nice. Met Chuck of Chuck's friend Chicken who's the cook he's super nice and friendly. Everyone that went in know him well. I ordered a 4 piece 2 can dine super cheap for $10.99 it comes with 2 sides and 2 drinks. The order was done quick. Got our food to go. Got home and my food was still nice and Krispy and hot. You can tell it was made as we waited and the Chicken was not just sitting in the kitchen. I ordered onion rings as my side it was delicious not too much batter on the onion rings. My boyfriend got the potato wedges it was coated with a seasoned thin batter, so so good. The Chicken had good quality meat and was super tasty and so much better than Popeyes!
