We ordered: - 8 pieces non spicy megabites combo w/ fries - 4 piece spicy combo w/ jalepeno bombers - tex supreme sandwich I didn't get pictures of everything. The megabites breading was light (some might call it bland). I liked that it wasn't very greasy. The chicken tasted great with the spicy mayo dipping sauce. I dub 2018 to be the year of my fried chicken addiction. It has been eight months since I started craving all chicken things fried and I haven't slowed down. A few months ago, I bought another Groupon for Church's Chicken. I realized that the deal was about to expire, so I decided to go use it three days before its expiration date. This Church's location is about twenty minutes away from my workplace backroading it. It's conveniently located on Hurontario Street, just north of highway 407. I had no problem finding it. I parked at around 3 pm on a Saturday and went in. My Groupon was for six chicken tenders, two sides, two drinks, and two biscuits. I was greeted by a competent, friendly woman. She went to get a pen to jot down my Groupon number. She then let me know that my original chicken tenders would take three minutes. Nice! I ordered two orders of coleslaw as my sides. While I was waiting, I witnessed a young man lose his mind when another staff member was making a sundae for this man's friend. The staff member put a honey-butter biscuit in the butterscotch sundae. Wow! I enjoyed seeing this guy lose his mind. I could relate. I was doing the same inside. Sure enough, I got my goodies and went to chow down. The chicken tenders are amazing! They are hands-down my favourite tenders that I have had this year. The breading was light and crispy. It was almost like tempura, but with more substance. The tenders were juicy and matched their name -- totally tender. You pay extra for dipping sauces. I didn't get any and glad that I took the gamble. They were that juicy and perfect. The honey-butter biscuits are incredible! You taste the sweetness of both the brushed honey and butter on top. The biscuits taste like biscuits that what you make from scratch. They aren't salty, which I like. Same goes with the coleslaw. It tastes homemade. It's not overly creamy. You don't get a ton of sugar. The slaw is fresh and crunchy. I love it all. I ate most of my meal there. I took my second drink and coleslaw home. I've been to two out of the three Church's Chicken in the GTA. This one is my favourite so far. The food is great and they have amazing specials. Currently, they have a two biscuit and two dark chicken for $4.99. I love the spicy chicken and spicy chicken tenders. The biscuits are amazing and sweet. I enjoyed the onion rings and jalapeno poppers. There is room for improvement though. They are slow in cleaning the tables. You have to ask them to do so. They don't provide condiments with the fries unless you ask. The coleslaw and the macaroni salad are just okay. The food is definitely worth coming back for. read more

This was the friendliest kindest fast food staff that I have met, boy are they trying to mata good impression, after leaving I have to say that the chicken is very crispy and flavourful but it's probably best to ask for the hot sauce on the side because when you ask for it spicy they smothered it on for t, it's not a powder like Popeyes. Hmmmm, have mixed feelings about this place. There were some things that I liked and some things that I didn't like. Let's start with the good things LOL! I thought that food was relatively good, I ordered the Classic Chicken Sandwich Combo with onion rings as the side. The chicken sandwich was crispy but still "juicy" which was pleasant. The onion ring was also really crispy and was done when I ordered it so it was still nice and hot. This location was also very clean and modern looking. For the most part the employees were relatively nice. Now for the downside... I thought it was kind of odd that ordering online/ delivery was a decent amount more expensive since the app that I would have ordered it from already charged a percentage more off of the total bill. Another thing I found strange was that I preferred bottle drinks that time as I didn't mind paying extra for the bottle drinks as on the menu it also said there was bottled drinks but when I asked he said there weren't any bottled drinks while staring at the line behind me. It saddens me to write this but the reality is this location of Church's chicken is the worst I have ever tried. I have been to a few locations in Toronto and really liked the food. The first time I ate the food here I thought something was off. The poppers didn't taste good. The chicken was bland. The fries soggy. Took some local Canadians to Church's since they had never heard of the US chain. They are avid Popeyes fans and were shocked to see another place do it as well, if not better. We got the 8 piece combo, fries, honey glazed biscuits, and the deluxe chicken sandwich. The fries are definitely better at Popeyes since they are battered and seasoned there. Church's offers crinkle cut similar to what you may find in a cafeteria. As far as chicken goes, I personally have a hard time differentiating Popeyes from Church's but for those who only know one chain, they gladly welcomed a new and subtle difference. I was soooo looking forward to coming here! Had a groupon, and of course, it was p*ssing rain when I made the trek! I hate driving in the rain, especially when it's dark! I have mixed comments. The Chicken is far better than KFC! The menu is almost identical to KFC. This location just opened and the Grand Opening is on Saturday, November 25, 2017. Very clean restaurant and the staff are friendly. The speed of service is quite good; but the restaurant is still new and not much of traffic. I had had Texas Mexicana as well as a BBQ sandwich combos. Both were mind blowing. The TexMex is made with a spicy Mayo which is quite good on your taste buds. Not soggy and not pasty - if my writing makes sense. The fillings comprise of proper Tomato slices and Onions with Lettuce in a sufficient quantity. Quite the contrast to the Lettuce attacks by KFC and McDonalds. The fries were nicely done with the curly cut. The Restaurant was very clean during both visits. Great food and amazing service! My in-laws wanted to go here, as they remembered Church's chicken being a part of Harvey's many years ago. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted by a super friendly cashier. She asked us if it was our first time here, and welcomed us back when we explained we had gone here years ago. We tried the chicken, gravy, fries, biscuits, onion rings and poppers. Every single thing we ordered was crispy, fresh and delicious. The poppers were sooooo good, better than ones you can get at dine in restaurants. The gravy was Soo good, almost like old school KFC gravy (before it mysteriously changed). The fries were crinkle cut and super crispy! The chick en was super crispy, fresh and juicy. This place is definitely one of the best for fried chicken. On top of the great food, the service was impeccable. I wish I knew the name of the cashier, but she was a lady with blonde hair and glasses. So I got a 2 can dine groupon for 6 chicken tenders w 2 biscuits 2 sides and 2 drinks.They also have daily specials, monday is any chicken burger for 4.99 so I orderesd a tex mex burger. They dont hve much flavour to them I kind of wish I got spicy instead so theyd at least taste like something. Its quick thick and again juicy on the inside. Comes w lettuce tomatoes mayo and processed cheese. Not sure why its called tex mex lol. Again not much flavour just major calories in a box.
