Wonderful first visit to Chrysalis last night. Really nice choice of selections on the ante-pasta starter menu. Baratta was excellent and entree choices of panini, salad and veal Milanese didn't disappoint. Joshua did an incredible job on service and representing the restaurant! Keep up the great work. We will be back. read more

Great meal tonight. Had the scallop special with Lemoncello martini. Ernesto was our waiter and was the excellent. We will be back

Food was decent, don't linger after meal though. We were in town visiting with friends but got asked to leave while catching up after meal. Recommend somewhere else for leisurely meal. read more

Chrysalis has been open for a year and it was not on our rotation. I had one reservation that I had to cancel months ago and I'm so happy I made another reservation. The restaurant is local and that was appealing. My family and I had no expectations other than hearing from a friend the ingredients are fresh. No freezer, no microwave. The menus are creative and we enjoyed everything from the unusual focaccia and special butter to the mussels, flatbread, and customized antipasti. Andrew, the owner, is a gracious host spending plenty of time as we got to know one another. The restaurant is busy so I highly recommend a reservation for dinner. The cocktails are interesting as was a few glasses of champagne courtesy of Andrew. Enjoy Chrysalis. It's made it into our rotation. read more

Phenomal service, awesome bar tender, delicious food, fun ambience!! We had the best time & were so impressed with our ENTIRE experience!

Not sure where all these 5 stars are coming from, as this restaurant was a disappointment food-wise. The space was nice & clean and service was friendly & attentive, but that's where the 'pros' stopped for us. We went there for a dinner and ordered several things from the menu. We started with the mussels, which were so-so, but served with a crostini that had clearly been sitting out for way too long. The handmade angel hair noodles came to us in one dry clump. The pasta dish, a chicken saltimboca, didn't actually have any meat in it...save a few dry bits of pancetta. They charged $16 for about 50 cents worth of pasta and some brown sauce. Panna cotta was rubbery and chewy. Again, tasted like it was well past its prime. We were so hungry, so we nearly cleaned our plates, but as we walked out of the restaurant were leaving feeling...bummed. I so wanted this place to be a regular go-to, excited to see a unique spot like this in Franklin. Maybe we were there on an off night?? But it was not a place we'll be revisiting. read more

This is an unassuming place on Carothers but OMG the food is delicious!!!!!! We loved ordering a piatta (charcuterie board) by checking all the items on a piece of paper with a pencil (like ordering sushi). The alfredo (bucatini pasta) and bolognese (penne pasta) were melt in your mouth perfect. Make a reservation or just walk in but stop and go here immediately!!!!! They're have 20% off cocktails every Tuesday (at least going on now as I'm writing this review in July 2022). Please if you want to eat well and not just go to the trendy spots - give this place a try! read more

Outstanding. Pretty and bright and wonderful. Everything we had was just delicious and plenty of it. We took home a shopping bag of food we couldn't eat. Reasonably priced and definitely worth it. We had a great waiter, Brenner, who was friendly and welcoming and good at his job. Not intrusive but there when we needed him. That's a skill. I almost don't want to post this and keep the restaurant a secret for ourselves, but it was too good not to share. We will absolutely be going back. read more

Great new spot. Really cool decor... unique food and solid wine list. I'm glad they're open now so we have a lil more variety in the area. Can't wait to go back soon read more

Yes it's in a strip mall but the food is outstanding. One of the best places in Williamson County!

Great food, outstanding service, very pleasant ambiance! Menus always change, in addition to delicious food you never run out of options.

Nice concept/menu, but prices have risen significantly since opening. Not sure Ill be back because of that, but I wish them well. Other restaurants at this location have not survived over the past 2-3 years. read more

It was decent food. Nothing to write home about for sure. I come from an Italian background and never had food that was this interesting. The cocktails are what to go for. Never any bar flies around. read more

Cocktails and service are BEYOND superior to any surrounding restaurants. Will be back read more

I met a group here the other night and had a great time! The Cioppino (although a bit salty) and fresh rosemary focaccia (fresh, rich, warm & served with a trio of butters) were delicious! Drinks were fine; nothing stellar or really extra special. I was disappointed in the presentation. I had the limoncello; our waitress had shared happy hour would provide 20% off, but this wasn't reflected on the bill. I think the waitress must have had an off day, as she did not seem happy to be there or forthcoming with suggestions/recommendations. Limoncello dessert was lacking lemon flavor & garnish, but was a generous size portion. Definitely a spot I would try again for other main dishes, but not for happy hour! read more

Excellent. Nice ambiance. Service impeccable. Price as expected. Four adults and two kids. Everyone happy.

Love it! We needed this restaurant in Franklin. Delicious house made pasta, awesome cocktails, great service, modern, hip ambiance. Thank you thank you thank you for opening in Franklin!! Don't miss the tiramisu. read more

I was excited to try this place with a friend who was visiting me since we looked up the reviews and the selections looked great. I don't know if my expectations were just too high, but I have a few concerns. We were sat right away since we had a reservation which was great! We noticed the place was extremely loud, not the restaurants fault but the place definitely echoed to where it was hard to converse. We ordered the Burrata and it was just ok. Very hard and dry bread pieces with good burrata but a ton of fig spread and only 3 tiny halves of tomato pieces. Just not very proportionate to share. I decided to order the Caesar salad before the main dish which was very reasonably priced but there was barely any dressing on it. My main dish was very good though. I ordered the Alfredo that comes with shrimp, mushrooms and arugula- yum! My friend ordered the special. I wish I could remember the dishes name but the server described the dish to be more of a braised short rib ravioli with a red wine mushroom sauce but it came out and she was quite surprised. It seemed more like short rib that was wrapped in a wonton type texture with a very thick brown gravy sauce. She said it was good, but not what she was expecting at all! We wished the server described it a little better. We ordered a bottle of wine which was good and it was nice to have a night out together. We are laid back, but we did notice the owner going to every table to greet which was very nice, but always passed by ours without even a single look. We just found it kinda funny since it probably wasn't intentional. If I go back I just hope I have a better experience read more

Wonderful 1st experience!! Service was simply excellent, food portions were way past adequate, and food was excellent. We have a new favorite restaurant in Franklin! read more

Great place to go. Incredible experience and service. Molly was great. Food was good for all eight people with us and dessert was awesome.

Had the focaccia bread, side salad, and the Saltimbocca. Then we finished with the limoncello trifle. All the food was delicious. The space is really cool and the service was great as well. Can't wait to go back next time we are in town for a date night. read more

Great food. Great service. My partner and I were from out of town and wanted to enjoy dinner for my birthday. 10/10 would recommend

A yummy meal in a very cool space. Chrysalis is open and airy, a "nice" feeling but not pretentious spot, with lights strung from the ceiling, a huge bar, and many small cozy tables, great for small groups or couples. No outdoor seating but the inside didn't feel crowded. The menu is really cool - lots of Italian "inspired" small plates, ranging from the traditional - meatball (apparently the chef speciality) and salads and burrata - to the less so. Also, every main dish is just a theme, and you can choose to do them as a flatbread, a pasta, or a grilled panini, which is very unique. I ordered the small plate mushroom and truffle toast - it was basically a half Italian baguette with a mushroom paste, truffles, cheese and greens. It was delicious - a huge "small plate," easily shareable, and very flavorful if a bit messy to eat. I ended up knife and forking it. I also got the mussels - a rare item on a Franklin menu. They were perfectly cooked in a delicious garlic broth - I only wish they'd come with some bread to sop up more of that broth (I used some of my baguette from the truffle toast). My friend ordered the eggplant pasta - the restaurant offered a choice of 5 different pastas, three homemade: a rotini, a chili macaroni, a pesto bucatini, a plain bucatini and a rigatoni. She got a homemade pasta (I can't recall which one) and liked it a lot. Another friend ordered the Quattro formaggio flatbread. Flatbread is a bit of a misnomer - it was more like a puffy deep dish personal pizza, but judging from the yummy noises coming from her, it was good despite the inaccurate branding. My only complaint keeping this review from being 5 stars - their wine list is a tiny bit expensive in comparison to the food. They do wines in 6 Oz, 9 Oz or bottles. The 6 Oz (e.g. just more than 1 glass) is about $11-13, while the 9 Oz (just under 2 glasses) is $17-19. We were there during happy hour when wine was supposed to be 20% off, but when the bill came, no discount was taken. Not a huge deal, I didn't make a fuss about it, but it's on the higher end for what I would pay per glass of wine during happy hour, especially given that the ample food was so reasonably priced. The bartender did seem very skilled and their cocktails looked creative and yummy - my friend loved hers with whisky and habanero, so if I went back I would probably go that route. I will return for sure - a welcome addition to the Carothers corridor, and a great spot for friends to meet and chat over tasty, festive eats. read more

First time at Chrysalis - loved everything about this place! Our waiter, Brenner, was fabulous as were the wine and cocktails. We ordered the bread for two, two different salads, pasta and flatbread - five stars all around! read more

Delicious! Fun environment! Excellent staff. Came for my birthday! The tiramisu was heavenly

Excellent service, creative cocktails, upscale casual atmosphere, and light fare make Chrysalis one of my favorites in the Nashville area.

What else is there to say!!! Fantastic food and excellent service from Rita! Would definitely return, maybe toninght!!

I read a few of the negative reviews. By the way they complained, it was obvious they had never worked at a restaurant before... We were greeted at the door by a nice dressed gentleman. I asked if he was the owner, and he was. He said our reservation would be on time or within 5 minutes. We were seated promptly 5 minutes later. We had great service from Brenner. It was obvious he was busy but we still received good service. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. Our food was great and I can't explain it, but the owner and the server made us feel like VIP.. it was a unique experience since I'm so used to either the bare minimum or good service from most restaurants. Our meals were great. We had a Caesar salad which was delicious, just more croutons please! We were pleasantly surprised when a tiramisu arrived at our table, On the house! I actually felt like we were "rewarded " for kind behavior. In a world where most people get free stuff for complaining, it was really nice to receive something for being kind! We were very grateful. Also, tiramisu has never been my favorite, but this was one of the most amazing one I've ever had. I even continued to eat the leftovers for the next couple of days. Thanks again to the gracious owner and server! Excellent job! read more

I would give more stars if I could! Andrew, the owner, was very warm and friendly from the moment we entered. Felicia, our waitress, had so much personality and really knew both the cocktail and food menus (big surprise - she was also tending bar!). The staff are all hustlers. Drinks were excellent, food was amazing (I get cioppino whenever I can and this was top notch). When he found out they were out of the dessert I ordered, Andrew comped us a tiramisu to go. I tend to babble at wait staff and they were very patient with my stories while they were obviously busy. I can't wait to go back! read more

Despite the incredibly slow service, I'm giving them a 5 star, because the food was that good. My companion and I arrived on a busy Friday evening and there was a short wait beyond our reservation time, so that part okay. It took about 10 minutes for a waiter to stop by check on us and get us our menus. We put in drinks orders and requested a bread basket right away. Another 10-15 minutes for the waiter to return with the bread. I ordered the beet and fog salad and the mussels and my companion ordered pasta Alfredo. The salad was delivered within another 15 minutes. However, it took nearly an hour from the time our orders were placed until our mains arrived. This was a problem because my companion had not ordered anything other than the pasta and she was famished. Despite that the food was in fact excellent. I assume we just caught them on a low staffing night and that generally the service is far more attentive and prompt. read more

First time to this restaurant with my wife and another couple. Restaurant accepted reservations and table was ready when we arrived The food was very good. Ingredients were fresh and they offered a variety of home made pasta noodles. Service and atmosphere was very good as well. Restaurant got alittle loud as it filled up Manager checked in on us to see how the meal was and thanked us for stopping in. Told us menu would change quarterly and looked forward to seeing us again Would definitely return Recommendations - offer basic spaghetti with marinara or meat sauce. Also for such a great meal however the bread was not great and would recommend not charging $2.00 for it I look forward to returning and trying out new menu items read more

Food was amazing!! Service was good! Ambiance was not great but it was still daylight out. We came late afternoon on a Friday and by the time we were leaving it was filling up. If the service was more personable I'd definitely have given it 5 stars. But between the "strip mall vibe" which can't be helped when it's daylight and you're in a strip mall and the very slightly subpar service I subtracted one star. If the staff was slightly warmer I'd definitely be raving. Again, food, was amazing. read more

Molly was great... fantastic! She knew the menu inside and out. Drinks came out fast and were intoxicating! Pasta was AMAZING.

I visited Nashville last month and had the opportunity to have dinner here. Absolutely fantastic restaurant. Inviting layout with modern decor. Great bar selection and the entire staff was professional and courtesy! Started with a Piatto medley of Mozzarella, Gorgonzola, Prosciutto, Giardiniera, Pepperonata, Roasted Garlic with Fig Jam and Raw Honey. Delicious. For the main course I went with the Alfredo (garlic shrimp, with mushrooms and spinach). Amazing flavor and good portion size. I loved their specialty "House" cocktails. The Emperor is a smooth drink that actually gets better as you drink it. Additionally, they have an incredible lineup of liquors to choose from for that special go to drink. Mine is a simple Old Fashioned and was made perfectly. Knowledgeable staff who took time to answer questions and share their knowledge. We were there on a Friday night and although busy, we experienced no delays in getting drinks or having our dinner delivered in a timely manner. Can't wait to get back to experience Chrysalis all over again! If your in Franklin, don't miss the opportunity to enjoy the Chrysalis experience. Italian food done right!! read more

We were passing through Nashville and chose Chrysalis based on Yelp reviews. We are so glad we did! Our server, Jerry, was very friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. We loved the menu options because they weren't just the same dishes everyone serves. He knew how ingredients were sourced and explained how each dish was prepared. The cocktail menu is very inventive - each drink is unique and perfectly balanced. I ordered the trout and went with Jerry's recommendation for wine - it was a superb pairing. My husband ordered a pasta dish that was a bit spicy. I normally don't care for too much spice, but it really worked well in that dish. My husband also went with Jerry's recommendation for wine and again - the pairing was excellent. With so many chain restaurants in the area it was so nice to enjoy a small owner's passion for great food and service. Definitely recommend this place! read more
