Went here for lunch today and it was horrible. We waited 35 minutes for a sandwich, burger, and a tuna wrap. (It was also not busy. AT ALL.) Oh, I almost forgot the teriyaki wings that were hard as a rock. I'm sure they did some time in the microwave . My first mistake was ordering the lettuce wrap with some tomatoes and a light tuna spread along the bottom. I should've ordered the tuna wrap. Oh wait, I did! It's pretty bad when subway makes a better wrap than you. Christ, how much is a can of tuna? You could at least put enough on for me to taste it! The coleslaw also tasted like cardboard. Went to the restaurant with great expectations waited an hour and 20 minutes and I had to complain to find out where my meal was. I've been here multiple times and they never fail to disappoint. The food is good, the service is worse than terrible. Absent minded servers and bartenders that are more than eager to forget about you completely. Tried this place for dinner, having been there before for drinks. It's primarily a sports bar, with the typical sports memorabilia all over the place. Large 4-sided bar. Overall we had a good experience, but service was slow due to the crowd on a Friday night. Every bar seat, booths and tables were full. We arrived about 7 PM, and were told we would wait for a booth for about 15 minutes. We waited about 20 minutes to be seated. Booth was pretty cool, with a private flat screen and remote. Right away, we got to experience a disgruntled table who were irate about the length of time it took to receive their meal. We watched as the couple and their guests made a big scene soon after they received a table full of food and drinks. We learned that they said all of their food was cold. Their waitress (ours as well), said their food came right out of the kitchen, and was not cold. Regardless, they left the food and drinks on the table, storming out and verbally abusing the staff and threatening to slam them on social media. Totally unnecessary. This, after the owner comped their entire meal, which he didn't have to do. It was a pretty entertaining scene! We started with the house sauce wings (their special sauce). They arrived quickly. They were pretty awesome. Some of the best we've ever had. Me and my son got burgers, one smothered with pulled pork, and one was Boston style, with a fried egg, bacon and cheese. My wife got a pulled pork sandwich. We opted for coleslaw and their homemade chips. Overall, the food was great. Very tasty, good portions. The egg on my Boston burger was way overdone. No yoke at all. Probably because it sat under the heat lamp for too long. After our wings, we waited 25+ minutes for our entrees to arrive. We were growing impatient. Our waitress was very kind and attentive too us, but kept saying the kitchen was slammed and that this was an unusually busy night, and with only 4 staff in the kitchen. Back to the egg. It was so overdone that the egg was FUSED to the burger! I politely asked if they could simply cook a new egg for the burger. She complied and sent it back. I hate doing this. She came back fairly quickly with a fresh cooked burger, egg etc. As mentioned above, it was quite good. Overall, the food was very good. Service was painfully slow, so I would avoid going back on a busy Friday night. The owner needs to address his kitchen staff, organization and food expediting process. As described, we weren't the only table with service issues. Our waitress was very good, polite and attentive. Final note. We left our leftovers on the table. Our waitress came running out to the parking lot to deliver them to us, which was courteous. Overall decent sports bar, tasty pub food, horrible service. I'm not a big drinker, I've been here four or more times to eat or meet friend. Overall rating is ABOVE AVERAGE B+. I like the food. The classic burger with fries is fresh and tasty, the Thursday night prime rib special is a great deal. I added a nice salad for three dollars. Always get my food in a timely fashion. Interior is clean, modern and friendly. The one man I have seen behind the bar is very friendly to guest. The female bartenders have all been pleasant, friendly and helpful I like to support a local run business rather than the chain places and their packaged overpriced food. Bar is a joke, the owner does nothing but sits at the end of the bar and drinks all night. When we went with our friends the other night he was so drunk he wouldn't leave our table alone and kept asking if we had a cig for him. What owner does that? We felt like we couldn't enjoy ourselves when we were there. He also was playing Barbra Streisand super loud we actually had to yell to each other when we were talking and it was only 8pm not even 11pm or a time when music should be loud. The food is alright, beer is great, waitress are awesome as well. Ours was always checking in on us to make sure we had everything. Besides the owner everything else was great. Will not be coming back here and will make sure to tell my friends as well. read more

Terrible service, I live close by and have given this establishment several chances hoping for a better experience but every time is awful. After the fourth time of going I am done. My most memorable awful experiences were: Cashing out at the bar one night, my colleagues had to leave early to plow for the night. They gave me their money for their bill which was roughly $60. The bartender was rude and short with us all night for some reason unknown to us, when it came time to pay our tabs. I told her the $60 was for one bill and my bill was to be put on my credit card. So, what does she do because it's easier for her...you guessed it. She put their bill and mine all on my card and gave me the $60 back. I kindly asked to have it changed to the way I asked and she hummed and sighed saying she can't do it. Obviously she could do it but that would require work. Next experience, this happens on every occasion when I would go to here. The service is god awful. On numerous occasions my friends and I have pulled out our cell phones and opened the stop watch app to time how long it takes to get drinks, food, and the bill. The average time for service is just under 32 minutes for each topic listed. Yes, you heard that right. We grab a table, waitress introduces herself and then the wait begins. Best part, you watch your server to see what the delay is and low and behold, they are talking with regulars at the bar, fellow co-workers, or are walking around making it look like they are working. We have even went to the back where they all hang out and asked to place and order for food and drinks, they acknowledge us and state they will be right over, but the wait always continues. Now, I don't know if the staff is friends of the owners or just poorly trained but it's sad. Another experience was when I went to the bar to order a drink for myself and my friend. Now, my friend doesn't drink at all, never has never will. So I order a beer for myself and a coke for him. The bartender was baffled that I wanted just a coke, a soda, a non alcoholic drink in a bar! She questioned me several times if I really wanted a soda at a bar, I was told, "you do know you are at a bar, right? We only serve alcohol here" so I had to explain that my friend doesn't drink etc etc etc. She then tells me that she doesn't know how to ring up a soda because she doesn't know the price for a soda because again, they are a bar and only serve alcohol. I could go on and on about bad experiences here but my fingers are getting sore from typing. In short, after trying so hard to give this place a chance and hope it changes, it hasn't. Therefore after four times of going, I am throwing in the towel. The choice is yours people, there are better places to eat and drink in this plaza than Christopher's. My wife and I came here a couple of times over the summer, just for a quick beer, and it seemed ok enough to come back for some food. The last time we were here, the place was rather empty and the bartender treated us well. This time we decided to have something to eat. The bar was full so we sat at a high top and waited for quite some time for someone to notice us, even though they were walking around us as though we weren't even there. We were ready to leave when someone finally came over with menus. This seems to be typical according to the other reviews. The beer selection is fair but 16 oz is the largest they offer. We ordered boneless wings and sliders. They offer breaded and unbreaded. We waited so long for them to arrive that we didn't send them back, despite the fact that we ordered them breaded and they showed up without. The sauces were decent, but the wings themselves were not only dry, but they were the smallest I've seen. Not worth the money. The sliders were also smaller than expected, and were just ok. They were cooked properly, but they were bland. A little Montreal steak seasoning or something would have helped. On a positive note, I saw a guy at the bar get a pizza that looked really good. I love a pizza that's been cooked in a brick oven and, I don't know if they have one back there, but the crust looked nice and crispy with a little char here and there. Not easy to achieve in a regular oven. Toppings looked decent and plentiful. I guess I would have to recommend the pizza and a good beer to anyone considering coming here. Just don't expect it any time soon. One last thing. My wife went in and tried to use the bathroom but she came out immediately, saying it looked worse than a bathroom at a rock concert. My husband I I went for lunch, I was impressed by the atmosphere, the service was good--but the food- not so much. In fact I ate at 3pm and I'm still suffering from indigestion at midnight. I thought the sautéed Brussels sprouts sounded somewhat healthy- the Brussels were swimming in oil on the plate. We both ordered fish and chips- the sign said " best in Springfield" gosh, I sure hope not. It was dripping with grease -- I patted off the grease with 3 napkins- it was served on top of fries that were also floating in grease. The breading on the fish didn't even stick to the fish, maybe it was a frozen fish product that they breaded while still frozen- whatever the case- it was terrible. The fryer grease should defiantly be changed and they should defiantly drain what comes out of the fryer on those cardboard bowls before plating it up- cooking 101-it was so gross I took 4 bites and I've been suffering all night. The coleslaw was chopped by hand and was heavy cut- put a little effort into making a simple thing taste good. I really wanted to like this place, my hub wants to go back for wings... but I'm not so sure, maybe just drinks. read more

I was extremely disappointed. My friend and I got 4 beers total and had to wait 20 minutes in between each round. For the second round we had to grab another waitress because she just forgot about our order entirely. Then when I got the bill, which came to $20 I gave the waitress my CC and she charged me $25. I told her she charged me the wrong amount, and her reply was she already ran the card through and couldn't undo the charge. I've worked in the restaurant business for 5 years and know thats an outright lie. Then walked away to "help" another table. I will never be going there again! I had to call the next day to talk to the manager. Unbelievable. Don't waster your time here. Service is terrible. read more

Went in for appetizers and a drink. Order the crab cakes and loaded nachos. Crab cakes were not bad. Loaded nachos consisted of a pizza pan size plate of nachos with some cheese, some diced tomatos, and some sliced jalapenos. Some of the tortilla chips on the sides were burnt and the cheese was overcooked. Definitely not what I would consider loaded nachos for 8.95 and not very good. It's a neighborhood sports bar, with a decent menu. We went there to watch a game, have a local beer, and a good bite. We got a booth with our own little tv on the wall...what more could we ask for. The server was great. The beers....well...if you like IPAs (and, nowadays, who doesn't?), then you're in the right spot. 75% of the draft menu was IPAs. I like a craft beer, but a little variety would help...lagers, pilsners, stouts, would be nice. Also, I guess it wasn't my night, as four of the beers that I ordered were not available; that doesn't mean that I won't be back (I will), but I hope I have better luck, next time. The food came quick, and was hot. We liked it; for bar food, it was great. The atmosphere was about what you'd expect at any neighborhood sorts bar... 50/50, men/women, mostly beer drinkers, with some 'whoops' every so often... the place was alive with fans, and even though the Sox lost..our hockey team won, so we were happy. And, I noticed that, at 50, I was the oldest guy there. Figures. But, I wasn't there to pick up chicks...I was there with my chick. I visited this place a couple of times in general the atmosphere is not bad and food is ok. Staff however are friendly and attentive however the owner Chris is a total jerk. He is usually drunk and rude I have heard him insult customers and even use racial remarks. He has been known on many occasions to be insulting and demeaning to female staff. This jerk seems to think that is what makes a man. He is so very wrong. I would urge anyone with any self respect to stay clear of this jerk His bartenders Waitresses and other and staff are wonderful but no one deserves the public insults or demeaning shouting he gives them. So while sitting at the bar, I noticed the cook in the kitchen holding a stack of cheese against his chin with a beard. He then wiped the cheese off with his bare hand. Then he took a cleaning towel and wiped the sweat off his face. No hat, no gloves, no food safety at all! I will never eat food here again. read more

Wow, where do I begin? First off, the place was empty. Plenty of seats if you're looking for a low-key and quiet place. It would have been an ideal setting for a nice meal with my boyfriend, but the owner, who was intoxicated, stepped in and had a very lengthy (and inappropriate) conversation with us. It was very hard to enjoy our meals with this belligerent drunk in between us. I will say, however, that the food was PHENOMENOAL. Couldn't have asked for a more delicious meal. After our interruption, I noticed that he continued to patronize patrons (the few that were there). He was singing on top of his lungs and several customers (again, the VERY few who were there) were looking at him as though he were a lunatic. I overhead him, on a few occasions, ask patrons to buy him drinks. The man was/is a mess. The service was just mediocre, though this probably is due to the fact that this man was harassing them as well. He was discussing with a new bartender her name and the fact that it is a "stripper" name. If I were she, I would have quit right on the spot. He clearly has no respect for women AT ALL. I don't think he cared that his bar was empty because he was so drunk. Suggestion: you want customers, act in a manner people will respect. In turn, they will frequent your establishment and make YOU money. Acting this way chases people away and gets you know where. I will happily continue to go to Nathan Bill's bar, as this behavior never occurs and the atmosphere is upbeat and fun and it's always crowded and you can be guaranteed to run into a friend or two.
