My wife and I got a chance to go there for lunch. We had eaten there a couple of years ago and it was good, so we figured we would go again. My wife ordered the chicken ranch wrap and fries. I ordered a BBQ cheddar burger, medium rare with homemade potato chips. An hour later our food arrived. Hers was good, but needed more chicken. My burger was burnt, dry and cold. I mean the outside was black. The bun was hard as a rock. The chips were half cooked and dripped oil. I could not eat any of it and I can eat most anything. The food here is amazing. They do a good business and when you can get the food it's great. The service is horrible! It doesn't matter if you're at the bar or at a table the service flat out sucks. The owner is a sexist who makes his employees uncomfortable which is probably why none of his employees stay. There's a few people who stay but besides them the staff is constantly rotating and clearly getting lazier by the round. Let me set the scene - Sunday afternoon, around 12:30pm. Completely empty dining area, scattered few in the bar. Probably more staff than customers. I ask for an Oc(K)toberfest. They give me one but they have 2 on tap. Which one is it? They don't know. Already have a bad feeling. My son order boneless wings with fries and I get a mushroom Swiss burger with fries. Food comes out and my son's order is wrong - the wings are not boneless, the server saw it and took it back. She comes back a while later to let us know where his food is. Ok fine. She asks me how mine is. Really? Like I'm gonna eat while he has nothing. She than tells me how this is not her regular gig. Ok cool. I can understand why she is making mistakes and am ok with that. My boy's food comes out and after a few the manager comes out to give me $5 off my next visit if I spend a certain amount. She asked how everything else was. It's kinda not good. There is no flavor in the burger, the fries are WAY over cooked. The manager offered me fresh fries. Yeah I said no, you have no one in the restaurant and you can't come close to getting these few simple items correct? Our waitress was nice but the manager looked so sad like she had the life sucked out of her soul somehow, still left the server over 20% since she was ok. Came here for a work gathering and was glad to be quickly seated. We asked if we could have separate checks and was told that we could. Even confirmed before ordering that a small group of our party (3/14) seated in a booth could be put together on separate checks. Food was fine, drinks were fine, but members of our party heard the staff badmouthing our group literal feet away from us. I was seated in a booth with two other people and we received a check with a 20% gratuity added being told that it wouldn't be split, and the gratuity was because we were part of a larger party even though our food/drink was the only part on the check. When we mentioned that we didn't appreciate it being added especially because we had heard staff badmouthing us, the waitress became annoyed and asked "who? Who? What were their names? What were their names?" even though no one had told us theirs because it's a bar and the waitresses are running around on a Friday night. I understand that Friday nights (especially around the holidays) can be stressful, but I would have appreciated what we were told prior to ordering being upheld and staff finding a more private place to air out their grievances. I have no problem paying a 20% tip regardless of service but did not appreciate the third degree when bringing up a complaint. read more

For how good the food is and the great atmosphere for football, i wish i could love this place. The service is astoundingly terrible. It took us an hour and a half to even get the attention of someone to get our check. We wouldn't have left either but at the point we got to, there was no point in staying. Events coordinator, Brad, has no clue what he is doing. Double booked an event, took our menu and deposit, and then when we arrived had no idea that the wrong group was seated in the banquet room. We booked this event over 3 months in advance. We stood around for over 30 minutes watching him make a total fool of himself with no apologies and no communication. Finally, he sends the owners 18 year daughter to make things right. Long story short, we we're seated at the front of the restaurant, the owner put together an impromptu menu for our party of 34, he apologized for Brad, and we tried to make the best of the SNAFU. The food was great, but it was overshadowed by the lack of attention to detail. A sincere thanks to Ashley, you attempted to make things right. Probably came here a total of 5 times and it's been mediocre to poor every time so I think it's time to give the owner some feedback on the off chance that he even cares. I sat at the bar to play some keno and have a couple beers. The male bartender quickly greeted me and got my beer. He was professional and solid the entire time. Got me both my beers. The female bartender is behind the bar shoveling food into her mouth from a To-Go box at the front of the bar for any and all to see. She's turning up the music on the juke box to a point where you can't hear yourself think. Shes clumsily singing and dancing. She's texting on her phone every few minutes. Just everything you want in an employee. Almost all the TV's have either the DirectTV logo or the golf channel or a talking head ESPN show on them meaning they're too lazy to put a TV on an actual live game. The waitstaff has always been good. I usually sit at the bar, but they seem quick and cheerful. As I'm typing this the female bartender is now back near the silverware talking to a waitress leaving the bar completely unattended for a few minutes. I decided to go to Christopher's tavern yesterday for lunch with my boyfriend very dark when we went in sat at the bar I don't drink but he wanted a beer so we order the beer looked at the menu and ordered two apps loaded tots and quesadillas with chicken prices were a little high for the apps but not bad the bar tender raves about the Mac and cheese that they had there my boyfriend loves Mac and cheese so we ordered that and I got a burger took awhile for the apps and the food to come food came the bartender said would feed two people for the Mac I said ok I can try it price for that was 17.99 for the Mac and 4.99 for the protein choice I hoped it was worth it being so pricey she said homemade cheese etc ok good my boyfriend and I had a debate on the price the whole time at any rate we got it and I tried it before him had no flavor and the cheese had broken was very dry didn't taste good our bill was 75.00 and for what when half the food wasn't up to standards will not be going back there again smh over priced and the cook needs a new job read more

The waitresses all had their masks half down even when right at customers tables talking to customers. The first time we went there, we were approached by a waitress who asked us if we could spare a cigarette for the owner, who was seated across the bar from us getting drunk. The second time we went there, they lost my buddy's hot wings order. 45 minutes later they "found" it, apparently abandoned on the kitchen serving bar, and gave it to him. Cold. He complained about the cold wings, so they brought it back to the kitchen, nuked it, and brought it back out. The wings sucked. The third time we went there, we were treated to an entirely new bartending crew, as the original crew, we were told, had all quit. The lady and bouncer at the front were very pleasant and the hostess, asked me to wait momentarily, so i obliged stepped to the side and did so, i was approached by the owner. Who seemed to be angry walking up, but spoke in a decent tone to start, he then became more irate, and practically interrogated me off of his own anger, he began to yell and become irate and got very close to me. It made me uncomfortable... i then explained to him that he would have to go through grub hub to get his money for the food (whatever contract he signed with them is how he will be paid out) after multiple more minutes of him yelling and me answering, people started looking thats when he noticed that people were looking, and I believe that he became embarrassed? He stormed off angrily to sit at the end if the bar by the food window. A woman came up next and asked what i would like to pay for in all honesty i wanted the food, but the way the owner was acting was childish, inappropriate, and generally uncalled for. He was not professional at all, and all i was trying to do was pay for a portion of the food which other than me showing up would not have been paid for by us and would have went bad sitting on the table behind the hostess stand. If the owner,Chris had not acted so foolishly i would have thought about going back in person but honestly don't even think its worth it by the way he acted, i left without food, and proceeded back to my car, i would have been willing to go again but chris ruined his chances at having me or my family back, i worked nearly 3 years in food service as both front of house and back of house, i have never and i hope i never see an owner or anyone of management act as inappropriate as this. She also said that only the manager knows how to change them and she didn't know where he was.... Seriously. You were told you were going to lose two customers and you showed no effort and stood there waiting for us to make a decision. We left. Of course. The point of this review... If I could leave 0 starts I would. Overall, a very bad experience. We arrived to a hostile staff who did not interact with us more than absolutely necessary. We spent easily an hour just waiting for our server to come back to take our order after getting us our drinks. Easily another half hour after we were very clearly finished with our meal, we had to hunt our server down and were pressured to try to get us to buy more drinks. We had to ask for our check and that was the only time the server seemed to care at all. The staff only cared for the tables with very large drink orders. As if the meal wasn't already overpriced enough, they illegally padded their tip and took an extra, unauthorized $10 from my account. I order the chicken teriyaki with rice and broccoli every time I come because it's delicious and a good sized portion! We usually only end up here late at night when other places are closed. The environment is VERY noisy and crowded. Not a place for deep conversation. The waitresses usually take a while to check on you, but it's a bar environment so it is kind of expected. I feel like when I have gone and not ordered drinks they don't pay attention to the table nearly as well. They approach tables about more drinks more than how they are doing/if they need anything. Racist and disrespectful staff! This was not the first time I have been in Christopher's, however this is the first time I'm making a review. There's a staff member Maria who utilizes her position as a family member to slide out of her terrible attitude and racist or derogatory comments! A couple months ago she was very disrespectful to a waitstaff! A few weeks ago she was fighting in the back and called someone the N word! Last night she was laying into a bartender! And the staff is so accustomed to it nobody says anything. I was with my family and they were appalled! I had to explain to them this it's "kinda what goes on here, but the wings are the best!" And apologized to them. I'm doubtful this will change anything at Christopher's, but I'm hopeful she might take a vacation indefinitely.
