Great Service and Food was Good our Waitress was Awesome we went here for Breakfast Two Days in a Row.

Today was a nightmare. 10:40am on a Saturday. A marching band competition was at the Dome this morning. I ran over and got us a table. It wasn't busy. I was seated right away and the rest of the party showed about 5min later. As my friend walked in, business had picked up. Two adults and three teenagers, the waitress took our drink order right away, but as we started to oder food, she turned around and took the 2 top table beside us. We waited patiently, but she made her way to all the other tables in the section to take their food orders before returning to take our order. This took around 15min caused us to have to add time to our parking meter and I had to get a to-go box quickly because I had an appointment. I usually get great service and food here, but wow, this might cause me to look elsewhere. I also had to have the bartender ring out my check because after dropping off the check with an automatic 20% tip ( for tables of five or more) I never saw her again. Really really bad service. Sought out this place for breakfast this morning. It is located at the base of a SLU building, so you need to enter from the corner of the building. I was promptly seated and chose the classic eggs benedict with fruit and a large orange juice. Bottom line: excellent food. Nailed the eggs benedict. The fruit was fine but nothing special (mostly cantaloupe and honey dew). Orange juice was fresh with just a little pulp. Service was good. The restaurant looked rather new and clean - sort of an upscale diner restaurant. I definitely recommend and would come back if I am in the area. read more

What a fantastic find! In all honesty, Chris' wasn't my first choice for Brunch today, but it should have been. I had the Western Omelet with Hasbrowns, Pancakes & a Mimosa. The Food was Hot & Delicious!! The mimosa was just how I enjoy it most.. mostly Sparkling Wine .. but Best of All, the Service was Perfect! Food was excellent! Had the bacon fried rice with 2 soft basted eggs. It was very well seasoned. The chili sauce was a sweet and spicy edition, but I don't think it's necessary. Husband had the pancake plate..and he was impressed. Loved the options and specificity to your order! Bacon soft, crispy or extra crisp? Eggs over easy, scrambled dry or basted soft? Came here for a nice brunch date. They are a breakfast brunch and lunch restaurant so no dinner items. They have a really nice mimosa menu as well. What is brunch without mimosas?! The inside of the restaurant was very clean, very nice staff and very spacious, the restaurant is located in a very busy area of downtown St.Louis so expect some traffic around the area. We came on a day when it was not very busy so service was so fast I was very impressed. Server took our order fairly quickly. I ordered the Tower Grove omelet, it was delicious and very hearty. The chorizo was delicious!! It came with hash browns and you can choose either toast or pancakes. Of course I indulged in the pancakes! They were delicious as well. Yes the potatoes could've been cooked longer, the pancakes lacked density & the menu stated 2 sausages but the server advised that it's really only 1 since they upgraded the quality of turkey sausage...BUT.....she was very warm, welcoming & prompt. Don't understand why I've never been here before! Amaaaazing cocktails and an absolutely DELICIOUS breakfast! One of the best combos EVAH!!! I had the Tower Grove Skillet (WHY Tower Grove, I have NO idea), and it was reeeeally good. I usually try to eat only 1/2 of an entree and take the other 1/2 home, but was unable to stop shoveling this one into my face. Cocktail-wise, I had the Perfection first, with my meal, and then ordered the Rumchata Rush at the end, to go. SO, SO SO good! Will definitely be back. read more

To say this place was a pleasant surprise is not doing it justice ! Food is amazing and portions are large so you get the bang for your buck. On our table we had pancakes that were light and fluffy and not greasy, amazing omelettes with fresh ingredients, crisp bacon, sausage and giant hot chocolates. Everyone ate!!! That's a big deal for all my people to eat and LOVE it. We ate here twice in a week! Service was wonderful. Hostess was kind and the wait staff was attentive and had smiles on their faces. To start off, the food was exceptional. I really enjoyed the waffles, the eggs, and sausage, but the service was downright horrible. Currently visiting St. Louis for a Cardinals game, so we decided to eat at this place before we went home. It was close to our Airbnb, and we saw that the reviews were great. Our server, Shalease L, did not make this a memorable experience at all. I'm not sure if I have any place to say this, but if you're white, do not have Shalease as your server. She asked every table around us how their food was, had conversations and laughed with each table, interrupted us mid-conversation, etc. When talking to her about the menu, she walked away mid-conversation to help another table of black people. When she took our plates, we said, "thank you," and she proceeded to say, "yeah, alright." Such a horrible service on her end. Went to Chris on New Years day for breakfast, we were told that there would be a thirty five minutes wait. We ended up having to wait for over fifty five minutes. But the wait was worth it. We were a party of 6 seated near the kitchen. It took forever to get our seinks and when we finally did they were wrong. Our server was new but not shadowed so she messed up our orders for deinks and had to be reminded multiple times who ordered what. Could have been because she wasnt writing anything down at first. All I can say is WOW! I came here while my wife was taking care of some business in the city, so instead of driving home, I decided to pop in for breakfast. I don't typically leave reviews, but between the service, the food and the price, this place earned each of these stars. I appreciated how quiet the space was, and the staff were very accommodating and checked in often. I was thinking this would be a run of the mill diner, but no. Chris' is my new favorite spot to hit whenever I'm downtown. For the record, I had the Brioche French Toast, hashbrowns, bacon and eggs. And their sausage gravy... Located directly across the street from the courthouse, I tried this place on a whim during our lunch break (nearly 8 hour selection process that began with approx 150-200 potential jurors). Despite being packed, the food came out with plenty of time to eat before we had to return. Pro tip: The Docket gets BUSY at lunchtime, however, if you order your food to-go, you will get it a lot faster than if you choose to sit down to eat (I'm assuming because you're not waiting for a table). read more

The young lady (Angela or Angelina?) was very rude and quite aggressive insisting that I should have read the disclaimer. I'm a big fan of the Bartolino's Salad. I've had it at the Osteria and also at their South location, so when I saw it on the menu here, I wanted it for lunch. My food was gone before I remembered to take a photo. I got the UFO omelette and it was so good. It was just the right amount of spice mixed with veggies. We went during their busy Sunday brunch hour but feel like we got in relatively quickly and the hostess was very nice in trying to get us in considering we had a baby who needed a high chair. All of the staff were hurrying around helping their tables but at no point did I feel like me and my family were rushed. If the servers didn't have it under control, no one could tell. The hostess set the expectations for anyone checking in which makes a huge difference. Unfortunately, our food was dropped when the server brought it out, but what I appreciate about the situation is that they were very apologetic, and everyone jumped in to help clean up the mess.
