I've been here a couple of times for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed both experiences. The restaurant…read moreusually has some great specials and an impressive, rotating selection of east and west coast oysters. The servers are all well versed in the menu items, including the oyster selection, which is always a plus for me. Each time I've visited I ordered a few different oysters and have never been disappointed. You really cannot go wrong with what you order. The fritto misto appetizer is outstanding, perfect for 2-4 people. Also had to try the oysters Rockefeller which are always delicious. My first visit (NYE '26) they had octopus on their specials menu. I PRAY they bring it back because it was memorable, even 6 months later. My first visit I tried the barramundi which, at the time was a special menu item. It seems they added it to the Mains but with a different preparation. This time I tried the salmon which was excellent. If seafood's not your jam, they have plenty of menu items to choose from. In addition to the food, they also have great cocktails and a stellar looking happy hour menu I can't wait to try. I recommend making reservations, especially if you're visiting on a Friday or Saturday night. Both times I went here the restaurant was packed, particularly the bar area. My only real critique is that the restaurant gets a bit loud, making it a tad difficult to hear but it's also a sign that the place is doing consistently well.

However, the seating in my opinion is on a tight spaced sidewalk where people and cars pass you by. It was crowded and our waiter was fine. The food took way too long to come out. It was like they forgot our order. It was happy hour for clams so that could have played a part. However, others had received their food before us. When the food finally came, the oysters were sad. Such small oysters for a place that's on the coast and bases it menu off the ocean. Our tuna tartar tacos were great. Best I've ever had. The flavor is towards the bottom of the taco so take a big bite to get all that flavor. IMO this is a nice place. I would not make it a go to spot for their oysters. But I would return.

LakeHouse Restaurant in Bay Shore NY is an upscale place to have an event. Atmosphere is very nice…read morewith window views of the water and sun. Interior is nice with lovely arranged flowers on the Piano and the tables setup was fine for the special 30th business event that I went to. 2 workers/ I found very kind and supportive. Christopher was at my side checking to see that I had each thing I needed. The other young lady at the bar area in the front, lent me paper and pen to write up a draft before entering it into the event Guest Book. The setup of tables was sufficent and there were window sill spots to place various gifts that people brought. As for the food at this given event, it was a buffet style with a big range of different things to eat with small cups of butter on the table for bread. I supspect the chef and kitchen people like to add a lot of salt to their foods. As I myself do like salt, it was ok. The dessert, (my favorite part) was very fresh and tasty especially that chocolate cake. While I only had the one piece of it, I could easily have eatten more. Oddly; my coffee cup had what I want to say is, bubbles in it. Like when oil and water don't mix. It tasted ok so I guess it was not soap. The other thing I noticed is that the waiters were -TOO MUCH- "Johnny on the spot". They took my small plate as soon as I was done and when they came around with more appertizers, I used my napkin for the small lamp chops. I was also glad there were toothpicks at the front entrance as every stick was also quickly removed! Though I know that is their job to do so, and only because I had been there once before I had noticed them and was able to go and get one. So, todays review of the Lakehouse is 3 stars.

They were super crisp and came with a creamy horseradish dipping sauce that was absolutely delicious. For lunch, I got the taco platter with the roasted cauliflower, carne asada, and Beachfire chicken tacos. The Beachfire chicken had the perfect amount of spice, and the Gallo pinto on the side was super fresh and flavorful. My husband got the Korean chicken sammie, which was a great portion and had a spicy, tasty sauce. He also tried the pork belly taco, which he really enjoyed. The service was great and even had a QR code on the table to pay and order more in case you were in a time crunch. We'll definitely be back! We're already looking forward to coming back and trying some of their drinks next time.

The tacos were only $1 off the regular price, and they were the smallest tacos I've ever seen. Even with the discount, they still felt overpriced for the portion size. We ordered three carne asada tacos, one chicken taco, one al pastor taco, and the cotija fries. The food was just okay, nothing that stood out or made me want to come back. The service was also just okay. Our waitress wasn't very personable. I ordered the Island Rum Punch, and it was terrible. When I mentioned that it didn't taste right, she explained they were out of one of the liquors that normally goes into the drink. She never offered to replace it or let me choose something else. Instead, I ended up asking for more simple syrup just to make it somewhat drinkable. The entire experience felt mediocre and lackluster. Between the disappointing food, underwhelming service, and poorly handled drink issue, it just wasn't money well spent. Unfortunately, I don't see myself returning to this establishment.

I've loved it for over 15 years maybe longer. I've lost count. Buuuut with the new owner Marcus & his friendly knowledgeable staff (Hiiii Pedro!) it has improved immensely! Marcus's passion & dedication to the art of fishing & shellfishery shows. I come from a long line of clammers & eelers. My family does not give a BBQ without clams. We just don't. But Marcus (I can't say his name without hearing Eartha Kitt. If ya know, Ya know. Hahaha) has upped the ante with fresh shellfish & fish options also dry aged items as well. Today I was blessed with Jumbo Soft Shell Crabs! I was lazy & broiled them instead of grilling or frying them. They came out perfect! Called My Dad & he went back for some also. And the new hours!!! I can't say enough about the later hours & being open 7 days! Epic!
