Regular at this location. This place was a savior during Covid! Consistently a 5 star experience. I've maybe bought 100 Mexican Caesar salads from this Chop't. The food is always fresh and tasty. Moreover, the staff is attentive and friendly (I'm always welcomed with a smile) :) Also, I don't think I have ever waited more than 3 minutes. The staff is very prompt and does a fantastic job to get every order correct! They are wonderful and are really what makes this place special. I still have the same complaint as I previously wrote, however I increased my rating of the place. A costumer service representative contacted me personally to apologize about my lack luster experience. Now a days it's hard to find companies that actually care about their customers experience but Chopt seems to be one of them very impressed. This place is horrible compared to sweet greens! I don't know why anyone would ever come here. The salad and toppings lack the rich flavor of sweet greens. They were out of tofu mid day... as a vegetarian the only only option was falafel which is not high in protein or taste. I got half arugula but they charged me for a full salad of it as there was "no button" for half arugula. I got the blue cheese dressing which was so so I've gotten better blue cheese in the super market like Maria's. The bread was small and tasteless. Please go to sweet greens. read more

I visited this location today and created my own salad. It tasted good until I looked down and saw a live bug in my food. The bug crawling in the bowl made me lose my appetite altogether and I will never spend money at Chopt again. This location is so disappointing. It's in my neighborhood so I've been here more than a dozen times and every time it's a mess. Lettuce everywhere, toppings tossed all over the place. A friend and I even asked to speak to a manager once to show him what we considered to be cross contamination, but he just shrugged us off and mumbled something under his mask. So I'm not sure what's left to do but drive the extra miles for a better display honestly. read more

By far my favorite Chopt in the city. The staff are very friendly. They get your order right away and get you back in the move. I've given this location chance after chance and they never seem to prove me wrong. I stand in line today and order. I shouldn't have to ask a food service worker to change their gloves after touching the register then coming to prepare my order. I approach the register and attempt to hand my cash. The cashier says "We not accepting cash" I say OMG is there a sign on the door and she says "no" while nonchalantly staring at me. I'm standing there tryna think and I ask if they accept Apple Pay and she said yes. There should've been a sign, you have one up about mask but none about cash ? I very rarely carry it but a simple sign would've been nice. Then the way she handled the situation. Chopt is my all time favorite place to eat when in DC, but this location was a disappointment for me. I actually ate here twice on my most recent trip. The staff was lack luster, they didn't chop the salad in small pieces like normal and while it wasn't that busy, the tables were not clean. I go to this location from time to time and the staff can be nice or can be extremely rude. Tonight the cashier he was very rude, I go there and order my salad and not to mention there are 17 people in line and only one person taking orders and one fixing the salad. Anyways, I get to the cashier and I say hello and the guy was to busy texting and didn't pay attention, then he rang up my salad while he is texting away and didn't noticed I also have a potato chips. Once he realized he wanted my card back again to ring up the order again, I didn't hear what he said and he came out 'You caaaarrrrddddd" like he snapped at me with no eye contacts, he was looking other way or just texting away. I asked for the receipt and the ink was faded too. Today I ordered the Crispy Chicken Ranch salad on the website and walked to pick up my salad. I was disappointed at first because they had included the dressing on the side so mixing it all together was extremely difficult without making a huge mess on my desk at work. Second reason I was disappointed was because I paid 1.99$ extra for avocado and only received one huge chunk which included the pit of the avocado - nasty. Third reason I was disappointed was because there were about four small chunks of chicken and that's it. That's literally the main part of the salad and I barely got any of it. Fourth reason was because I paid extra for hard-boiled egg in the salad and did not get ANY. Also, salad just tasted OK. Not worth the price. Chopt is located in what I dub "bowl alley" because they are in neighborhood with many similar fast casual food joints that serve food in a bowl too. What makes me a staunch fan of Chopt is the perception that they are giving me my money's worth. I love how they fill the bowl to the brim with lettuce and only then do they start stacking the other veggies on top which they have to hold in place lest a precious topping were to fall out. I watch these actions grinning ear to ear because I feel like they are fighting for the little man. Several of their bowl competitors are the opposite where they take miniscule serving utensils and very calculating place just enough food in your half empty bowl. You can see the corporate stooges oppressively training their employees to round off excesses to save a dime to the bottom line. Not at Chopt where they serve a full bowl to their customers. This place is a complete nightmare! The menu is enormous and chaotically unclear. They have multiple lines and they try to hustle you through in just a few seconds so you don't have time to sort anything out or ask questions. Only the dressings are marked for gluten free. Most customers seem to just give up and order one of the predefined ones. But then my husband had trouble figuring out how to get his salad once he paid for it. I like this location very convenient. It's new so it's clean, which is good. But this place closes way too early for such a popular neighborhood and is way understaffed on weekends. I had to wait nearly thirty minutes just to place an order because only one person was working. There are customers outside of DDOT employees, who would like to patronize the establishment. If you want to pay $14 for a salad come here!! It was very good! But expensive!! It's located right next to the Nats stadium so expect tons of people on game day. The concept is good tho, they basically mix and chop your salad so you can taste all your ingredients in every bite. They also have ALOT of different choices to choose from. It was very fresh too, so I guess I can see why it's expensive but still $14 for a salad sounds a bit over priced. read more

I placed an online order not realizing that the store was closing 15 minutes after my order was expected to be ready for pickup. I arrived within 10 minutes of placing my order and even though the staff were starting to pack it up for the night, they were more than accommodating. It's fine if you want a 'relatively' quick salad on the go. It's pricy for a simple salad and I thought the chicken amount was lacking (also chopping that part kind of made it disappear). The chopping part is neat to watch and they mix the dressing in with everything. I noticed they were focused on closing one of the two working stations while the line grew from 4 to 14... not the most efficient thing to be doing when there were many customers waiting. read more

This location is by far the worst. It will be my last visiting the first street location. I've gone to almost every Chopt in he DMV. I love the food and the people. The young ladies taking the order rolled her eyes at not only me but the women before me for asking about the items we wanted in our salad. The two young men who were chopping the salads were great. So it made me feel much better but then once I got to the register; which is the main reason for this review was absolutely nasty. She didn't greet me also a African American women. She gave me a really nasty tone of voice about me having two tickets in my hand which I was paying separately for. Then had an attitude that I asked for the little small plastic bag for the 8 salad dressings. She then proceeded to say how may I help you to the white gentleman behind me. It really burns me up when black people are nasty to other black people who come in with a great attitude and smile because you think I won't send a review or call the main head quarters to complain of this horrible treatment. I love this place and after today won't visit this location and by word of mouth tell anyone I know to stay away as well. read more

Go to Sweetgreen instead if you want to be sure you get what you're craving....Usually my salads are great when I come in the middle of the day... but only two stars because as a local patron, I am TIRED of coming an hour plus before the store closes and being told they can't give me the dressing I want. As a former food service worker, I've had to run to the back and get stuff to make sure the customer is happy. Dressing shouldn't be that hard that far in advance of closing.... never run into this issue at Sweetgreen only a short distance away. read more
