A popular Greek fast-casual spot in Boston, Greco's Union Market location is the chain's second in Washington, D.C. (The other is in Georgetown.) Popping in for lunch, here's my experience. 1) Ordering: They make it easy. Order at a single tablet or at the counter. If you order at the tablet, they ask you questions about allergies to make sure your food is safe to eat. 2) Food: They lead with gyros in warm pitas. They have pork, chicken, and other options, including a veggie one. Their standard pork without tomatoes was delicious. I love the tzatziki sauce inside as well as the fries. 3) Drink: They have a few options. I ordered the orange blossom lemonade. It was refreshing! 4) Space: It's a simple Greek design with three unisex restrooms in the back. The front comes with tables and counter seats. 5) Area: It's in the Union Market area surrounded by many other restaurants, shops, and more. There's a large open lot in front of Union Market with three hours free parking. Two other buildings nearby have three hour free parking.

My new favorite neighborhood fast casual spot! This is my second time ordering from here and I'm loving it. Today I got the lemon chicken rice, fries, orange blossom lemonade and a side of pita. The lemon chicken rice is phenomenal. Super flavorful and filling. The fries were also tasty, but a little soft for my liking. I could definitely taste the orange coming through in the lemonade, but it did taste a bit watered down so I probably won't get it again. The store itself has several tables and is bright and nicely decorated. Staff was kind as well. Overall I am a fan and will be coming back.

This is a new spot in Union Market, when I first drove by it was very crowded so I decided to wait a little bit before I gave it a try. Finally went for lunch the other day and it was pretty good. Felt like a grab and go type of spot but it was spacious and had plenty of seating. You can order at the kiosk or with the staff. The worker that made my plate was nice but she didn't seem to know the menu yet. However, the manager or owner (not sure) came over and assisted her. The plate looked questionable but to my surprise I enjoyed it.

We've been waiting for this place to open! We switched our plans to cook dinner at home and it was a good choice. The team at Greco are quite friendly and helpful, we were given complimentary baby donuts after deciding after the fact to snag sweets. I loveeeee me a lamb gyro! I didn't realize this place serves the fries in the gyro so ordered them on the side lol but next time I'll try the traditional way. I was not a fan of the pepper paprika at all, I preferred old faithful tzatziki. I'm interested in trying some of the other sauces tho. I also wasn't a huge fan of my lamb, it was a mix between chewy then tough--so I need a complete redo. He had the hot honey chicken gyro, safe to say he enjoyed it A LOT bc he almost didn't save me bite! The donuts were yummy, I reheated them in the air fryer. Light, sweet... perfect close to dinner!

I was excited when I learned that Greco finally opened in the Union Market area! I was fortunate enough to try their lamb gyro sandwich. The sandwich was A+ as the spices hit just right and there was a good amount of meat. The employees seemed excited to finally start serving customers and there were just good vibes overall. Definitely recommend others to check this place out!

After the closing of my favorite union market pita staple (Yasmine) I was excited to see the signs for Greco poping up in the neighborhood. This was about two years ago. It honestly seemed liked this gem would never open, but I held out hope and so glad the owners continued to push through. This fast causal locations has delicious pitas, plates, salads, and family feasts for a nice filling meal on the go. The inside is sleek and small, but makes sense for the restaurant concept. I had the lamb pita with spicy feta and it didn't disappoint. Meat was tender and flavorful. I also don't like my fries in the pita so they kindly placed my 5 fries on the side lol. The staff were all lovely and helpful. Well worth the price for portion sizes. We will be back. So grateful to be lucky number 12 and get a $1 pita on the grand opening day!

Excellent Greek food, great lunch option! I tried the chicken gyro plate which was excellent and filling. I especially liked the tzatziki and the fries with feta.

The space itself is bright and airy and a bit on the noisy side. But the service was very good, and the food was served quite quickly. I've been on a shakshuka kick lately, so I opted for the the Sweet Potato Shakshuka, which is described as: Sweet Potato Curry, with Chickpeas and Sunny Eggs with a the chicken add-on - gotta get that protein in, after all. This was one of the most unique shakshukas I'd ever had... It literally tasted like a curry dish you might get at your local Indian restaurant, with a bit of a brunch flair to it. The curry itself had a wee bit of spice and was a bit sweet - but that could have been from the sweet potatoes. The chicken was served in a bowl on the side, which felt a bit... odd... I would've expected it to be incorporated into the main dish. It was kind of bland and a bit lukewarm, so I don't know that I'd order that again... but I would definitely order this again!

The Tikka dish with fried egg was tasty, but wish paneer or larger protein option was built-in (not an upcharge)! The creamy red Tikka curry sauce, caramelized onions, crispy brussel sprouts, and fried ere tasty and paired well, the dish felt incomplete and something was missing, maybe some paneer or naan? I paid $5 for a side of zesty naan topped with different spices and really wish it came with the dish just came with it. While I was tempted to order the falafel, I couldn't justify shelling out another $5 for another upcharge and spend $10 on them for a total of $26 for just an entree - when these 2 upcharges should have been included in the entree by default. Wish there were more fun vegetarian dishes on the menu. Might come back for drinks and to explore the menu!

The sandwich I got on my first visit was really good and exactly what I was hoping for. I ended up going back a few days later and ordered the chicken parm, thinking it would be another sandwich. It actually came as a salad instead. On the in-store menu it looked like it was listed under sandwiches, so I'm not sure if it was user error or just a menu layout issue, but it's something to double check when ordering. That said, the chicken parm itself was still good, I just wasn't expecting it on a salad. Overall, the food quality is there, just make sure you're ordering exactly what you want. Also, they're on InKind, so definitely take advantage of that if you use it. Don't feel forced to order from the kiosk, you do have the option to order from the front.

Cilantro and lemon aioli on a club? I would have never thought of that combination, but it works. Between those flavors and the high quality bacon they use, every bite hit exactly how it needed to. Truly impressive. I ordered through the kiosk, so I can't really comment much on customer service. They just called my name when it was ready, and everything ran smoothly, so no issues there. I am already planning my return because that buffalo caesar wrap is calling my name next. If it tastes anything like that turkey club, I already know I'll be back again.

As we were walking back towards our hotel, we actually were passing here so I chose it for our din din spot. I thought for sure it was going to be packed but luckily it was not. I knew I wanted a burger but was struggling with choosing which one. Hubs knew he wanted the Cheesesteak and knew I wanted fries. I went with the Smokehouse burger. We grabbed a seat and did not wait long for our food to come out. I really enjoyed my burger and scarfed it down! I paid for sauces, which were tiny and super overpriced. Hubs enjoyed his cheesesteak but he prefers meat. I had a bite and thought it was really flavorful and very closely tasting like the real thing. I noticed later this is a chain, which is pretty cool. I think the prices were pretty steep so I might skip on the fries next time. The food could have been warmer as well. Definitely worth a visit and will most likely be back when in DC again.
