Even though I have eaten here several times this is the first time I actually made a review of their food. Now...I have been kind of lazy last year a little this year and have not actually went inside even though I live less than 10 minutes away from here. So being the hungry lazy woman I am I ordered twice through Grubhub. I always order had dark because besides the wings I don't like white meat just be too dry! The sides plantains which are cooked so well, green beans are so damn good with the garlic and onions!! I've tried usually white rice and black beans or this time I tried the fried chicken rice and beans and things where I messed up. The chicken fried rice was so dry..uggggh they must use the breast meat because it was not good at all. So that was a one and done for me as a side because it sounds so good...but next time try thigh meat or something so it won't be so dry. I also tried the chicken wings and blue cheese which were very good as well. Besides the green beans which will be forever my side I'll try the mashed potatoes next time. And a side of plantains as well! Maybe I'll venture out and try a few other items one day. But for now I'll stick with what I know! A solids 3.75 stars! read more

I love Sardi's. It's the perfect spot whether you're grabbing something quick to go or sitting down for a simple, satisfying meal. Honestly, I'm not sure why the reviews are a little low, because my experience was excellent. I got my chicken straight off the char-broiled rotisserie, and you can literally see everything being cooked. The smell alone pulls you in. The chicken was piping hot, juicy, and perfectly cooked. They let you pick a sauce at the end, but I was so focused on eating the chicken that I completely forgot about the sauce until it was time to throw it away--that's how good it was on its own. I also ordered a side of rice and beans, and you really can't go wrong there. The beans were flavorful, and the rice was fully cooked and not dry or hard. I added Brussels sprouts and carrots, which were phenomenal flavor-wise. There was a little bit too much oil on the vegetables, but the seasoning and taste more than made up for it. This was my first time here, and I would absolutely come back. It's a great option if you're looking for something simple, fresh, and well-done. I thought about that chicken for a whole week afterward and have been wanting to reorder ever since--just not on Uber Eats. This is one of those places you want fresh, straight from the rotisserie. I'm a firm believer that Peruvian chicken, known as pollo a la brasa, doesn't get the respect it deserves. It should be up there with the most popular food groups in the world. I was in DC for 3 days, and was spammed with requests to hit 2 restaurants - El Pollo Rico and Sardis. El Pollo Rico changed my life, so I had to get over to Sardis for a heat check. I stepped out of my uber and had a great feeling as you could smell the beautiful aroma of the pollo a la brasa from outside. When I walked in there was a sign that read "Water cups are only for water, please, thank you!" and this is a great indicator that a spot is gonna SLAP. I put my order in as locally sourced farm fresh grade A chickens rotated over charcoal in the background. I went with my life blood order of a half chicken, chaufa, and plantains which ran $16.60. This chicken was amazing, but not quite El Pollo Rico level. I have it at the top of my A-tier, just below the mythical S-Tier that is reserved for some Hall of Fame tissi. But when you add the sauces in, it goes nuclear. Some good Peruvian green sauce, aka aji verde, will truly change your life. The sides of chaufa, which is just peruvian fried rice, and plantains here were fantastic. Sweet plantains are also criminally underrated. The perfect compliment to some good bird. I've been holding off on giving a number rating to restaurant chickens, just because I did so many before Chicken Wars took off. But moving forward, I'm going to start rating every one. It's time. I can't support Sardis anymore. They've raised the prices, but what makes it disrespectful is the fact they cut the food in half. My last time there I ordered the salmon dinner and when I went to pick it staff kept staring at me like they were nervous, with one even leaving abruptly. once I opened my food I knew why, since they gave me a piece of fish they literally cut in half down the middle to save money. A piece literally the size of a 5 inch ruler if not smaller. Raising prices from $12 to $20 is one thing, but now they are purposely cheating people. Typical Sardi's location. Great Peruvian food, quick service and quality ingredients. This location has plenty of seating for all party sizes. WiFi here is really quick and some seats are outfitted with charging ports. Located right off of Branch avenue. This spot can get pretty busy, but you'll be in and out of that line in 5 mins max. I always go for quarter chicken w/ 2 sides. Can't go wrong with their yuca fries, Peruvian rice, or potatoes. If your in the area looking for something quick in the area that isn't really fast food this is the spots. Glad the franchise has expanded to other locations around the area read more

I usually hit either college park or Hampton Park mall, no problem ever, except no location cooks the chicken to well done, but not a problem I take it home and airfry to my liking, green sauce and I'm in heaven But every time I get anything from branch ave it's a problem, I like the pork chops and the first time I got them at branch ave they weren't that good like central ave. I really like the size of this location! It's close to the Iverson mall, but far enough. This was my first time here and they are serious about how many sauces you get. This isn't my first rodeo with Sardis. I'm now a Sardis elite if they had statuses! I've been to one in Beltsville and Philadelphia all in the past 49 days. The chicken has this sweet taste to it that's very good and a little bit of char. I wish I could explain it better but try it and you'll see how good it can be. I've been to 5 or 6 different Peruvian Chicken restaurants in the area and I have to say this is the best local chain in the DMV. There are a couple of locations in Maryland and they're all great! The reasons why I recommend this restaurant: 1) The white meat is juicy. I have a standard for chicken restaurants - it's easy to make dark meat juicy, but white meat can easily get dry but a place that make it juicy...they know what they're doing! 2) Sides - their fried yucca is on point! 3) Flavor - The taste from their fiery charcoal seems into the chicken and it's game over. If I could leave a 10-star rating I would! I had an event on 5-22-23 where the caterer for my main course confused the dates and was unable to help me. I called Jay at the BOWIE Sardi's at 5:15 pm and asked him if he could provide wings for 100 people in 75 minutes. His reaction was absolutely perfect! "I don't have wings, but I can cut up a bird to have wing-sized portions." My question was "In 75 minutes?". "Of course", was his response! I told him I'd be right over to pay for the food. I was at his counter less than 10 minutes later, and his team already had the chicken on the rotisserie! We discussed the details of how my team was picking the product up at 6:45 pm and where we should park, etc. His team had the chicken ready, on time, and even brought it to our vehicle! All of this spectacular service with a smile and wonderful interactions! As a former restaurant manager, I can appreciate the shock this unannounced, last-minute large order would place on a manager and his team. Especially on a Monday night, which is traditionally staffed lighter. Jay did not hesitate in his ability to fulfill the order. Always a good experience when I come here! I love the food I'm trying the carne asada for the first time here. I hope it's just as good as the chicken. When I heard there was a new Sardis near me, it immediately felt like a newborn baby was added to the family. I had resounding joy and I made it a priority to go and Christen this location. Now I am sandwiched between TWO Sardis locations; one 13 minutes away, and this one 11 minutes away. (Yes, I looked it up on Google maps to see which is closest). The million dollar question is if this location lives up to its sister locations and it definitely does. The famous chicken is the same quality. I've also branched out and tried another chicken breast item on the menu. I've reached a place in my Sardi's game where I'm trying new things just to try it. I feel like Jordan when he shot the free throw with his eyes closed, just because. Definitely give this place a shot. I think I will use this location for specialty items since every time I try to call ahead at the Central avenue location, I get friend-zoned and put on hold with no intention of them ever clicking back over. read more
