    Raw carrots...?

I am not sure why I got raw carrots and cold, not fully cooked veggies with my warm harvest bowl plus roasted veggies. Wishing I went to sweetgreen across the street. Workers were nice, place was clean, but eh.

Food tastes good but a lot of inconsistency in quantity. Look how under filled our bowls are from tonight. Definitely not worth the $13

I love this Chop't at 1735 N Lynn St, Arlington just across the street from the Rosslyn Metro. I am somewhat boring and always get the Chicken Caesar Salad (the dressing is so darn addictive) but they have such a variety you can find a salad for any personality.  This is a hotbed for office lunch.  So if you are in a rush, steer clear of the 12 o'clock hour.  The team here does work hard to get everyone in, ordered, served, and out as quick as possible, much better than other restaurants in Rosslyn. Check them out if you haven't been.  1735 N Lynn St, Arlington, Virginia.

Fabulous cram apple harvest warm bowl with chicken and cauliflower rice. Yum yum, and what made it even better was the kind service

I've been eating Sweetgreen at least once a week for the last few weeks, and have tried almost all of their salad bowls and harvest bowls now. I decided to try something different and get Chopt, but wish I had gotten Sweetgreen instead. The salads here are fine, but I think they are smaller than the Sweetgreen salads, and almost all have more romaine lettuce than healthier greens like kale and arugula, and less protein options. I got the Santa Fe salad which had avocado, tomato, corn, pepper jack cheese and fried onions chop't with romaine, with a chipotle vinaigrette. This was $8.99, and I added quinoa for an extra for $0.79. I thought the salad was just okay - I got it to go, and ate it within 10-15 minutes of getting it, and the lettuce was already starting to get soggy. I don't think I would get this again - for a Mexican inspired salad, I much prefer Sweetgreen's Guacamole Greens or Corn Elote salad. My husband got the NY Street Cart salad, which is one of their seasonal/specials that had chicken shawarma, roasted tomatoes, cauliflower quinoa tabbouleh, English cucumbers, pita chips, romaine, spinach purple cabbage & cilantro. I liked his salad a lot better than mine - it had good flavor from the spices in the chicken shawarma, and I liked the cauliflower quinoa for a little extra texture and vegetables. I'm a diehard Sweetgreen fan, but I would give this place one more shot, or come here if Sweetgreen wasn't open (but Sweetgreen opens later than this place does). Overall, fine for a salad, but I think there are better places for similar prices that have better quality & healthier ingredients.

Back in my bougie days I use to eat a sweetgreen very often (this was when they still accepted cash). One day I was with my mom to go pick up my dad from work in DC. For dinner I decide to eat at the chopt by Metro Center Station. I was very impressed because it was different, the salads were diced up in front of you and so forth. The salad I first got was a safe salad aka Caesar Salad. At that point when ever my mom went to pick up my dad. I would eat there often. So when Chopt came to Rosslyn I was real excited. When that happened I switch from the metro center location to the Rosslyn location. Currently my favorite is the Mexican Caesar with corn, cucumber and chicken. The woman who was chopping up my salad suggested I try the Mexican Caesar Dressing instead of the regular Caesar Dressing. She was spot on because it made the salad that much better. I was here pre and post renovation I think the restaurant now is beautiful. Yeah there's not many people working but they are super efficient especially during lunch hours. I think I was only waiting in line for about 5-8 minutes. I really like there destination salad. My favorite was this Caesar salad (yeahhh I like Caesar salads a lot) with cherry peppers but those salads are seasonal I think. Also the people who work there are really nice and even if they don't have something they try there best to make something similar. If the salad happens to be soggy generally it's not the salad chopper's fault because you have full control of how much dressing you want and you can also request dressing on the side. Between chopt and sweetgreen my favorite is chopt. For one chopt still accepts cash, you get more for what you pay for (portion wise). I still have love for sweetgreen (especially the guacamole greens)and I like how they support local farms etc. However I find myself gravitating to chopt when I'm in a salad mood.

They mix it up in a bowl.

This time was a little different. I had the red dragon roll and I couldn't quite tell it's vegan and not actual dragon roll of some sort. And then I also tried the thousand layer potatoes, which was nice, but I don't know if I liked it that much. And I got the Unagi eggplant which was really really good. I also really like eggplant at baseline. Other people got the sprig and run drink (it's under free spirits and it's a mocktail) and they loved it. Two of my friends got the udon and mushroom - they loved it (clean bowls). So I enjoyed it but only for special occasions. It's not very affordable to come to Planta regularly you see (or maybe I just need to have a better paying gig hahah) ... a roll and a nigiri plate came out to be over $30 ... which is somewhat typical in the expensive city of DC. In the end, we all concluded Planta Bethesda has more options whereas this one is more Asian fusion type of food (which I love). But I'm still dreaming of that miso salmon tofu from Planta Bethesda (now a year later? Also higher end prices for me and can't afford to go too often). They do only have two bathroom individual stalls and for some reason it took a while for my friends to use the restroom (she said one person was trying on outfits in there?!) and it can get a little messy in there with the trash bin, but it probably isn't consistently so...

Like every establishment on this planet, you order at the checkout counter unless obviously stated otherwise, which it wasn't. I stood there for a minute looking at the menu before the young man behind the counter gave me a blank look and turned to look at one of this employees. That female employee then told me to go to the opposite side of the shop to order from the ladies working hard behind the glass screen making the pizza. The order sign? Miniscule. Even if you come through the front entrance you would probably miss it. Not only that, the female employee said it like it was OBVIOUS. It's not over yet, after I ordered, I walked over to the pick up spot to wait, thinking that you pay once the pizza is finished. Nope, once again, that same female employee looked at me and said "You done? Then NOW you go pay" dramatically pointing at the checkout counter. Again, like it was obvious, and I'm the idiot for not knowing how things work in their shop. The other employees just stared at me all amused. The cherry on top was when I was receiving the pizza, I ordered the American Honey, which is suppose to come with hot honey, hence the name?? I asked for it at the finishing station where you can ask for toppings like cheese and such, only because I can see that it did not have any on it. I told the first guy, I saw him nod his head, then stand completely still and not do a single thing. So then I asked for parmesan and he finally did something. The whole time he did not say one word to me, and looked like he was dragged here by his mama to work. So in the end, I got a mediocre pepperoni flatbread with nothing special but with a nice BIG side of attitude and horrible customer service. It felt like being in a pretend pizza shop ran by a bunch of teenagers for mandatory volunteer hours. Like, I've been treated better at shady gas station counters. I highly do not recommend coming here and wasting your time and money.

The serving size of the dishes I ordered were medium to small. The service was far less satisfactory than food. I tried the following dishes: 1. Complimentary pita: ~40g per piece. Not salty and paired well with the other dishes. Definitely get some! 2. Lahmacun: The lamb+beef mixture was tasty. It came with 4 pieces. 3. Branzino: ~6oz. The fish was grilled to perfection; juciy tender, and the skin was nicely charred. It was served with freh parsley and seasoned grilled tomato (salt+oregano I think). 4. Imam Bayildi: Half of an eggplant topped with sauteed onions and tomatoes. While itself was pretty normal, it went so well with the Ottoman rice. 5. Ottoman Rice: The true highlight of all the dishes I tried! It was basically Basimati rice cooked with dried apricots, raisins, almonds & pine nuts mix, and seasoned with black currant. Overall it was warm, earthy and lightly smoky. The apricot slices added some delightful sweetness and juiciness to the dish. Should pair well with Labneh, chicken and seafood. But to be honest, I can simply eat this stuff along for a whole meal! 6. Tabbouleh: They went against the traditional recipe by substituting the bulgur with quinoa and added some pomegranate arils. I liked the special texture of quinoa. The sweetness of pomegrante arils also enriched the flavors. However, I had to constantly spit the seeds when enjoying the salad. 7. Kofte: Adana style ground beef patties. Just like what I make at home haha! I ordered it as an add-on to my salad at lunchtime. It came with only 2 pieces which weighed no more than 3oz in total... Despite the delicious food, service was disappointing. The first time, the dinner, was Okay. While my food came out slowly, at least my server was aware of it and asked me how I liked the dishes. The second time, the lunch, was horrible. Even before I was seated, my server made me feel that he was reluctant to serve me, and emphasized that I had to order asap. "Luckily", I had already decided what to order. After I got my dishes, no one in the restaurant asked me if the food was Okay. And at the check, my bill was thrown onto my table. In comparison, the two ladies dining next to me came even after I started eating, but were greeted warmly and were given lots of time to decide what to order; not to mention that the staff gave them lots of suggestions, asked about their dining experience, and even chatted with them about sightseeing in DC, etc. Such discrimitory treatment is really unacceptable.
