There was also a drink happy hour where adding anything except orange juice to an entree was supposed to be $1 but not only was I charged $2.50, the coffee was lukewarm. I am sick and ordered a grilled cheese sandwich from the Sweet Leaf in Ballston hoping to get something quick, simple, and easy. I added a tomato on the sandwich and it was supposed to come with a side of fruit as well. When my fiancé brought me home my order there was no tomato (that I paid extra for), nor was there a side of fruit...not to mention it was completely cold with the cheese congealed within ten minutes of receiving it. It was so cold, the cheese was so hard, and the fact the tomato wasn't on it made it seem like it was made for a different order that passed and they just gave me an old sandwich. Since I ordered through the app I tried explaining what happened and sending a photo through the app, but was unable to do so. It gave me the number for the store, so I called and explained what happened. Immediately the young female told me it wasn't her fault and the addition of the tomato wasn't on the receipt. She told me I could come back and get a replacement order - I said I would prefer a refund. She said she can't refund me and only her manager can. I asked for an email, text, or anything in writing that would give me proof that we had this conversation and that the money would be refunded. We went on for over 10 minutes where she wouldn't provide anything to prove we had the conversation, nor would she give me an email for me to send my receipt, picture, explain what happened...essentially she completely wasted my time and wouldn't help me. She then said something in Spanish and hung up on me. TERRIBLE customer service with the inability to accurately make the food means I'm not going back. With other salad and sandwich stores close by I'll be going there instead. Seeing as how the young female I spoke with isn't able to make the sandwich correctly, take accountability for not making it correctly (instead blamed the customer), and is unable to give a refund, I'm not quite sure what she is capable of doing as an employee at Sweet Leaf. I already had to convince my friends to go to Sweet Lead instead of all the other food choices nearby and explain that it was underrated...that's not happening anymore. Sweet Leaf is way better than Sweetgreen in my opinion. Their salad is about the same price but the quality and proportions are significant. I usually get the green tea and steak medallion salad (make your own). Green Tea: pretty typical Lipton green tea. It is unsweetened but that's how I like it. Steak Medallion Salad: this is a customized salad and I just add on steak medallion. I love that they have alfalfa sprouts because you can't really get that at other salad fast food chains. The steak medallion is 100% worth the extra cost IMO. They are very generous with their proportions. Also highly recommend the avo ranch! Overall: Sweet Leaf is the best salad chain IMO. They are always so friendly whenever I come visit and have a huge variety of fresh ingredients. read more

This place is cute. It's on the ground floor of the Residence Inn. A great location. The ambiance is hipster (wood, brick, shared tables, etc.) & in my sweet spot. I had a tasty salad. It would have been better to have gluten free bread so that I could have ordered a sandwich, as I had wanted. I had the citrus sesame chicken salad. I really enjoyed it. BF has the Kale Kobe and a mint chocolate shake. He really liked both. The drinks were bottled, other than the shakes and smoothies (which both used dairy). So, I didn't get that either (allergies). My biggest complaint is that in the Fall (now), the employees use a noisy leaf blower at midnight each night and sometimes before 8am in the morning too! This disturbs community members and I can only imagine the guests of the hotel directly above the restaurant, who might otherwise be customers. Otherwise, the food is generally low quality for the price. Salad greens are wilted, tomatoes are soggy, frozen yogurt is icy (as others have mentioned). There are so many healthful food options in the neighborhood: Sweetgreen, CHOPT, True Food, South Block, Poppyseed & Rye. You'd be better off at any of those. read more

I loved that it included so many different (and delicious) toppings. Since I'm trying to be mindful of caloric intake, I previously identified that this bowl only has 390 calories. I did ask to have the toasted almonds removed. The set up is similar to Chipotle or Cava. You can watch your meal be completed as it moves down the assembly line. Overall the bowl was great. Fresh ingredients and the staff was friendly. I went back and forth between four and five stars. I order online before I come here. The reason I debated about four or five stars is I wish I could add more than one serving of an item. That is the only thing I do not like. When you add an item online, you add just one. So if you want double the tomatoes, or double the avocado, I have yet to find out how to do that on their website. Sweetgreen makes it very easy to do that and they're just down the street--I hope Sweet Leaf adds it . But I decided to go with five stars because the protein choices are delicious. I've only eaten a lot of salads here. The beef kebab, the steak medallions, the fresh feta cheese, and the chicken are all top-notch. I also love the roasted red peppers. I'm not a big fan of the kale for greens. It's not very tender. I prefer the spinach. The roasted veg combo for 99 cents is a pretty delish addition. So for about $17 I can get a really terrific high-protein salad with very fresh ingredients. Since I use the web, I don't normally interact very much with staff but they have all been very kind if I need something. Staff and corporate are very customer service focused. And in picking up my order in the evenings, there's often free cookies at the pickup table. If I had to say what I really think stands out it's the combination of the kebab with the fresh feta. The salad did not even resemble what i ordered at all. Huge avocado right on top. This type of thing is really not worth my time to correct, but I tried. I found there is no email. So you have to phone. When I did, there was some chaos on the line. Girl kinda hears what I am saying and then just hands off the call to someone else. He ultimately says ok, and I cannot return to correct it for them. So he says he will refund the charge and gets my name again. (EDIT: did ultimately see refund to my card.) This is the third wrong order. It is not worth my time (for $15) to track this down, I will not be ordering here anymore. This place is a cute little treasure hiding just off the main road (Wilson) next to a hotel. The food and atmosphere were great. A healthy choice for a variety of dietary preferences. The place had that rustic country style decor. They had fresh bread sitting out to take as a little extra like you would get at a sit-down restaurant. The sweets displayed at the corner when you walk in are incredibly tempting but I did not try any. The line was out the door during lunchtime but luckily I ordered ahead. I had a multigrain bread sandwich with egg, bacon and avocado. It was delicious! The egg was real, bacon was crispy, and avocado was fresh.
