Eat your greens before your health starts to eat your bank account. I love everything about Sweet Green. The staff is always smiling and so kind. The outlets are so clean and have bright colors for a feel good environment. The produce is fresh! The sauces slap harder than my mom. This time around I ordered the Chimichuri Bowl and The Sabaro Bowl. Mind blown, fingers licked and other appropriate or inappropriate remarks but the food is great. The Chimichuri is great, the jalapeno ranch sauce is great. The black beans are amazing. Nothing can be pointed out against this establishment. 4.9/5 must go! read more

It was right next door to the Residence Inn that stops breakfast at 9:00 so this was convenient. There was also a drink happy hour where adding anything except orange juice to an entree was supposed to be $1 but not only was I charged $2.50, the coffee was lukewarm. The sandwiches were also just "ok". I found it undelivered and wished I'd done to any of the other shops in walking distance. read more

The most delicious healthy option I've had in a long time! Really amazing options that you not only love the taste of, but can feel great about putting in your body. Every ingredient is super fresh. You get a big portion for your price too. Inside was cute with plenty of seating. They keep the restaurant very clean. The employees were so kind and helpful, they made our orders very fast. Highly recommend the spicy avocado bowl or the steak bowl. If you want a sweet treat, their velvet Oreo (strawberry + Oreo) shake is so delicious!!!! read more

I love this place! The food is supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, and the service is really fast. It is also very calm and peaceful so if I wanted to, I could probably get my homework done while eating a salad or something here! read more

a fast casual place that's pretty good for a healthy lunch! I got a build your own sandwich and it comes with protein, 4 veggies, and dressing. when I went it was really busy and they were definitely more focused on making the salads (which I would get instead since the sandwich is kind of small). They also charged me extra for tzatziki even though it comes with the sandwich and I didn't get my pickle. if you do go, order online so they don't overcharge you read more

My new heaven in Ballston. The food is not incredibly delicious, but I also love. finding such healthy and balanced options. The staff is delightful , always smiling and happy to recommend their daily latte. What make this place truly unique is it's cozy, hidden patio, perfect for reading on a Saturday morning. The interior has a modern feel but with exposed brick that lends it a historic character. Definitively an experience repeat. read more

One of my favorite salad spots in Arlington! While there's a Cava and Chopt nearby, I usually prefer grabbing a salad or sandwich from here. My go-to orders are the steak taco or their breakfast sandwiches, and I also highly recommend the Very Verde smoothie. The staff is friendly, and they have a short-term parking spot for easy pickup. read more

The Sabroso is so delicious. Sweet Leaf offers healthy options that leave you feeling nourished. For about what you'd pay at any other fast casual joint, you can have fresh real food that's not greasy. The service is great and you can call ahead and they will have it ready when you arrive. I just wish there were more locations in the DMV! read more

I love Sweet Leaf! I didn't even know this location existed. It seems fairly new but maybe I just haven't been in the area in awhile. I was excited when I did a yelp search for "food" around the Ballston area and this popped up! I was mostly excited because I feel like I need to be eating cleaner and in my experience, Sweet Leaf has always had really fresh food. My go to is the Chicken Citrus salad. read more

They serve yummy sandwiches and smoothies! I recently tried their frozen yogurt which, unfortunately, had an icy texture, but I loved the original tart flavor. read more

Sweet Leaf is way better than Sweetgreen in my opinion. Their salad is about the same price but the quality and proportions are significant. I usually get the green tea and steak medallion salad (make your own). Green Tea: pretty typical Lipton green tea. It is unsweetened but that's how I like it. Steak Medallion Salad: this is a customized salad and I just add on steak medallion. I love that they have alfalfa sprouts because you can't really get that at other salad fast food chains. The steak medallion is 100% worth the extra cost IMO. They are very generous with their proportions. Also highly recommend the avo ranch! Overall: Sweet Leaf is the best salad chain IMO. They are always so friendly whenever I come visit and have a huge variety of fresh ingredients. read more

This place is cute. It's on the ground floor of the Residence Inn. A great location. The ambiance is hipster (wood, brick, shared tables, etc.) & in my sweet spot. I had a tasty salad. It would have been better to have gluten free bread so that I could have ordered a sandwich, as I had wanted. I had the citrus sesame chicken salad. I really enjoyed it. BF has the Kale Kobe and a mint chocolate shake. He really liked both. The drinks were bottled, other than the shakes and smoothies (which both used dairy). So, I didn't get that either (allergies). What I had was good. But it would have been better to be able to order what I wanted. read more

I am sick and ordered a grilled cheese sandwich from the Sweet Leaf in Ballston hoping to get something quick, simple, and easy. I added a tomato on the sandwich and it was supposed to come with a side of fruit as well. When my fiancé brought me home my order there was no tomato (that I paid extra for), nor was there a side of fruit...not to mention it was completely cold with the cheese congealed within ten minutes of receiving it. It was so cold, the cheese was so hard, and the fact the tomato wasn't on it made it seem like it was made for a different order that passed and they just gave me an old sandwich. Since I ordered through the app I tried explaining what happened and sending a photo through the app, but was unable to do so. It gave me the number for the store, so I called and explained what happened. Immediately the young female told me it wasn't her fault and the addition of the tomato wasn't on the receipt. She told me I could come back and get a replacement order - I said I would prefer a refund. She said she can't refund me and only her manager can. I asked for an email, text, or anything in writing that would give me proof that we had this conversation and that the money would be refunded. We went on for over 10 minutes where she wouldn't provide anything to prove we had the conversation, nor would she give me an email for me to send my receipt, picture, explain what happened...essentially she completely wasted my time and wouldn't help me. She then said something in Spanish and hung up on me. TERRIBLE customer service with the inability to accurately make the food means I'm not going back. With other salad and sandwich stores close by I'll be going there instead. Seeing as how the young female I spoke with isn't able to make the sandwich correctly, take accountability for not making it correctly (instead blamed the customer), and is unable to give a refund, I'm not quite sure what she is capable of doing as an employee at Sweet Leaf. I already had to convince my friends to go to Sweet Lead instead of all the other food choices nearby and explain that it was underrated...that's not happening anymore. Sweet Leaf took money from me and didn't provide a service, then blamed me and hung up on me. read more

Best salads ever. This place is my new go to for salads, sandwiches, catering, etc. Pricey but worth it.

Lots of great options from froyo, soups, salads, sandwiches and desserts. Everything is so fresh and the staff is friendly. I love their seasonal menu items, always something new to try but my favorite is the sabroso bowl. They are quick during lunchtime but the app makes it easy to order and pick up when I'm running behind. read more

Ordered a salad with chicken in it and a bottle of water. Was charged for both of those things AND a "Farmers sandwhich" that I never ordered nor received. I told the cashier this and she said okay I will have the manager call you and fix this. Needless to say I never got a call from the manager and I was well overcharged for my meal... have I mention the Ballston, Arlington location doesn't have a phone number to call them on. Freshest food I have had in a long time and the closest to the experience I had in Miami and miss. We needed a little snack to hold us over and we ordered up some breakfast sandwiches for lunch. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful. Just in town for an event but would go again if I stayed in the same hotel or even close. Check out the photos. All were made to order and while portions were not huge they hit the spot.....just enough and while a bit pricey quality was there.....Give them a try. You won't be sorry. read more

I live near this restaurant and continue to be disappointed. My biggest complaint is that in the Fall (now), the employees use a noisy leaf blower at midnight each night and sometimes before 8am in the morning too! This disturbs community members and I can only imagine the guests of the hotel directly above the restaurant, who might otherwise be customers. Otherwise, the food is generally low quality for the price. Salad greens are wilted, tomatoes are soggy, frozen yogurt is icy (as others have mentioned). There are so many healthful food options in the neighborhood: Sweetgreen, CHOPT, True Food, South Block, Poppyseed & Rye. You'd be better off at any of those. read more

I go here all the time for lunch. Their service is always so fast and they're always greeting their customers when they walk in. My go to is the steak taco, however all are good! Their menu is quite big, serving salads, bowls, sandwiches, toasts, and smoothies and the portion sizes are quite large. For the steak taco, they give a generous amount of steak. This is my fave salad place in the ballston area. read more

I've always been a Sweetgreen kind of girl, but a friend suggested Sweet Leaf and I'm glad he did! I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious my chicken Kabobi grain bowl was! I loved that it included so many different (and delicious) toppings. Clicked one star because you had to. If not I wouldn't have clicked any star. Tonight my best friend and I went to one of our fav spots (even though they have been getting disappointing overtime :/ ) We stopped for a late dinner after a very long day. We ordered 2 smoothies and a sandwich at 8:17 pm tonight and sat down right next to where they call out the food orders. I waited and waited and it was 8:40, and our order still wasn't ready so we went outside because we had been sitting for so long; we went back inside at 8:47. At 8:50 my best friend went up to ask for our order, the worker simply said "Oh yeah we called your name and when you didn't come we threw away your food" and proceeded to refuse to remake the order because they close at 9pm. And yes we know the exact times because when you haven't ate all day, you would too! Ridiculous and extremely rude service. they saw us sitting there the entire time because we were right next to where the food comes out.....Never going back and wouldn't recommend this location! I got chipotle instead :) read more

I visited Sweet Leaf on a Wednesday with a few colleagues. The line was moderate but moving swiftly. I ordered the Toki Bowl. Since I'm trying to be mindful of caloric intake, I previously identified that this bowl only has 390 calories. I did ask to have the toasted almonds removed. The set up is similar to Chipotle or Cava. You can watch your meal be completed as it moves down the assembly line. Overall the bowl was great. Fresh ingredients and the staff was friendly. I'll be back. read more

I went back and forth between four and five stars. I order online before I come here. The reason I debated about four or five stars is I wish I could add more than one serving of an item. That is the only thing I do not like. When you add an item online, you add just one. So if you want double the tomatoes, or double the avocado, I have yet to find out how to do that on their website. Sweetgreen makes it very easy to do that and they're just down the street--I hope Sweet Leaf adds it . But I decided to go with five stars because the protein choices are delicious. I've only eaten a lot of salads here. The beef kebab, the steak medallions, the fresh feta cheese, and the chicken are all top-notch. I also love the roasted red peppers. I'm not a big fan of the kale for greens. It's not very tender. I prefer the spinach. The roasted veg combo for 99 cents is a pretty delish addition. So for about $17 I can get a really terrific high-protein salad with very fresh ingredients. Since I use the web, I don't normally interact very much with staff but they have all been very kind if I need something. Staff and corporate are very customer service focused. And in picking up my order in the evenings, there's often free cookies at the pickup table. If I had to say what I really think stands out it's the combination of the kebab with the fresh feta. That is one awesome salad addition. read more

The food is fair here, but the service and attention are terrible. Wednesday I ordered and picked up a salad. When I arrived home... I noticed it was completely wrong. The salad did not even resemble what i ordered at all. Huge avocado right on top. This type of thing is really not worth my time to correct, but I tried. I found there is no email. So you have to phone. When I did, there was some chaos on the line. Girl kinda hears what I am saying and then just hands off the call to someone else. He ultimately says ok, and I cannot return to correct it for them. So he says he will refund the charge and gets my name again. (EDIT: did ultimately see refund to my card.) This is the third wrong order. It is not worth my time (for $15) to track this down, I will not be ordering here anymore. If you do, it is good to examine the entire order closely before you leave. read more

I can't believe I'm saying this but I LOVE the salads at this place. I just dropped in today and made my own bowl with steak, quinoa, sweet potatoes, butternut squash and a bunch of other fall/winter type ingredients and a chimichurri dressing. Sweet Leaf - Sweet potatoes, butternut squash, roasted carrots, quinoa, apples, cucumbers and spinach, topped with chimichurri. - Salad Near Me - Arlington, Virginia

In my opinion, this is better than SweetGreen. The prices are better and I am a sucker for the pesto chicken salad.

first tried on ubereats. i love the fresh options for craft build your own salads. and yes so so much better than boring Sweetgreens where its likeL greens ,cucumbers and cherry tomatoes with a heavy, smelly dressing Sweet Leaf on the other hand has alfafa sprouts, carrot salad, pickled onions, tzaticki, pico de gallo, corn,so so many options for toppings, plus their salad dressings are the best part. I love the chimichurri and the avocado ranch, you can also add protein or fresh mozz or even more cooked veggies on salad. dressing and crunchies can be put on side so its healthy and fresh. So unlike cava,i dont leave with tummy ache with too much grease or fat in dresssings. I also love the optios of tofu. I want to try more of their stuff including falafel and healthy breakfast sandwiches with egg whites and veggies. they are located near ballson and open later than most delis....Thank you sweet leaf for making my salad fresh and flavorful! read more

This place was such an inviting eatery, with fresh food made to order and farm to table quality. Our group of 7 was ecstatic over every item we ordered, and the staff truly made it that much sweeter with their great attitudes and truly caring that we had a wonderful experience while eating at their establishment! This place is a cute little treasure hiding just off the main road (Wilson) next to a hotel. The food and atmosphere were great. A healthy choice for a variety of dietary preferences. The place had that rustic country style decor. They had fresh bread sitting out to take as a little extra like you would get at a sit-down restaurant. The sweets displayed at the corner when you walk in are incredibly tempting but I did not try any. The line was out the door during lunchtime but luckily I ordered ahead. I had a multigrain bread sandwich with egg, bacon and avocado. It was delicious! The egg was real, bacon was crispy, and avocado was fresh.
