Stopped at Choostix for a quick lunch while I was craving some duck. I was imaging some crispy roasted duck with fatty juices and a hot bowl of rice with some soy/duck sauce. I was a little heartbroken it wasn't exactly what I wanted but wanted to give it a try. Note that this only came with duck so if you want to eat it with rice, you're going to have to order a side of rice. The sauce was more of a thick hoisin sauce which wasn't the kind I wanted so I decided to just eat the duck without any sauce...or rice. The skin was very crispy but the meat was very dry. Portion was also small for the price.

Like the food when we first picked up however next day it didn't taste the same. The phone etiquette was little off and sound alittle snoopy "do you know we are?" and I wanted to tell her "yes, I live in sterling and I can afford to eat in great falls." when I picked up the food, the 3 counter staffs was giving me the unwelcome look. 4 stars for presentation at the restaurant 3 stars for the food 1 star for customer service - general tso chicken portion was NOT worth the price. Overall it's not too bad, I'll probably try again.

I had been wanting to try Chopstix for a while because they have beef chow fun on their menu. Today was supposed to be the day, but I got so distracted by all of the other great menu choices that I didn't order it. What I did get were egg drop soups (always a hit), spring rolls (lot of cabbage and veggies), fried chicken wings (huge, not what we were expecting), crab rangoon (the cream cheese was sort of sweet; probably won't order these again), scallion pancakes (good), Mongolian beef (very good!), General Tso's (sort of too sweet), and the favorite of the night, spicy chicken with fried Chinese chilies. On another high note, the employees provided great service!!! They helped explain some dishes to me and were very accommodating with special requests. I am typically out of their delivery zone, but they went above and beyond and still brought the food! I couldn't have been happier.

Almost did order every week from here. High recommend this restaurant if you want real Chinese food!!!!! Love it!!!!!

No sauce, and in a box container with tape on top.

Ordered take out and no utensils and no soy sauce on the side. Doesn't feel like I'm welcome there. Never again!

Very good quality take-out. A bit pricey and "medium spicy" request wasn't spicy at all. Steamed dumplings and egg rolls were excellent.

Well they must have put a full pound of sugar in my last order. Disgustingly sweet. Awful. Do not go here.

Edible, but pretty mediocre. I ate lunch there one afternoon during the week and had a beef dish.

Plenty of other options were available for when I get my tolerance for spicy food back, as the place leans Szechuan. You get good food at reasonable prices. Some of my favorites include Crispy Shredded Beef in Spicy Sauce, Fried Chicken Nuggets with Basil (a Taiwanese native favorite), and Wrinkled String Beans. Crispy Shrimp with Honey Walnuts is also really good. They offer a wide variety from stir-fries and noodle dishes to seafood, pork, beef, and vegetarian/vegan-friendly options. The kitchen is very accommodating. If you want milder spice, less oil, or custom tweaks, they seem pretty open to it. Because it's not one of those fancy places, the vibe stays relaxed and unpretentious, which I personally like. It's nice for families, friends, or a simple meal out without fuss. I also like to order take-out. :)

Mandarin was brought to my attention through a Yelp newsletter that discussed places to eat in…read moreReston. We had never heard of Mandarin before that. I looked at the reviews, which are mixed, with some who really like the food but some who were naysayers. Still, we thought it was worth a try. One thing mentioned in a review is that there are currently only two tables in the place. Thus, we were glad to discover that they work with DoorDash. We placed an order this past Sunday. We ordered two hot and sour soups, one order of chicken with snow peas and one order of spicy chicken with garlic sauce. As an aside, rice comes with each entree. We didn't know that so we had ordered one side of rice. As for the food, the portions are large. We got two meals out of them. We were pleasantly surprised by the food. The chicken with snow peas was a mild dish that came with an abundance of white meat chicken and a generous amount of snow peas. The snow peas had a nice crunch to them. The chicken with garlic sauce was mildly spicy and contained white meat chicken, sliced onions, and sliced celery. It reminded me of the same dish I had many years ago: same ingredients, same taste. My husband enjoyed his chicken dish. The hot and sour soup was okay. We've had better, but we've also had worse. If you like button mushrooms, they put a lot of them in this soup. We decided that we would order from them again.

The beef ribs were really difficult to eat and the meat was not tender at all, it was much more tough and stringy than I expected. The steamed beef rice noodles also had no flavor, definitely would not recommend this dish or the beef ribs. The space was nice, there were a lot of larger tables as well as smaller tables for parties of 2 to 4. It wasn't too crowded when we went, a few larger groups and some young families. As other reviewers have noted, the service was sorely lacking. I noticed some of the servers were pleasant, but the lady who was serving us was pretty unfriendly and inattentive. She did not check on us even once to see if we needed more water. She just seemed annoyed and like she couldn't be bothered to do her job. There was another lady that did check on us near the end of our meal and she was very friendly, asked us if we needed any boxes, and offered to refill our water glasses for us. I guess your experience just depends on who you happen to get, but in my opinion, if you're that rude to customers, maybe you shouldn't be working in customer service. They do validate for parking in the lot and there's a garage that is for you for the first two hours. Overall, the prices at this restaurant are higher than is typical for dim sum. The space is nice, but for these prizes, I would expect a higher quality of food and definitely a higher quality in terms of service. I don't think that I'll be back to eat here.
