We decided to branch out and try a different Chinese restaurant (usually go to ChopstiCKS in Herndon). We got delivery and it arrived in 20 minutes vs the expected 50 which was great. My husband really liked the fried chicken wings. The wonton soup was a bit heavy on the sesame oil and did not come with little fried wonton strips. The chicken with broccoli and beef lo mein were both very good with tasty sauces (better than Herndon). The portion sizes seemed smaller than Herndon and they were more expensive. Sweet and sour chicken was good, but missing veggies with it. Overall, we'll probably stick with Herndon due to price/portion size and Chopstix not being enough better, but happy to have tried them. read more

A quick call, they apologized, and rushed a corrected order right out. They didn't even ask for the incorrect order back. They told us to keep both. I decided to give this place a try despite the negative reviews. My mistake. I had placed an online delivery order, and their system invited requests for custom preparation of individual dishes. I had asked for double extra onions in the egg foo young, and double extra onions in the vegetable fried rice. They had a lot of orders, which I initially took as an indication that it's a good place. The deliverer went to the wrong location, after an hour and a half wait, and I had to get on the phone to ask where my food was and then help them get him to my house. When he arrived I told him that I do not want cold food. Since it was an hour and a half since I placed the order I was afraid that it had sat on a shelf for an hour waiting to get picked up. The driver assured me "It's not cold, we prepared it right before I left." When I brought it in the house and tried the items they were barely lukewarm. The vegetable egg foo young was made the way I asked, and very tender and tasty, but the sauce tasted very strange. I've been eating egg foo young all my life and I never tasted anything like this. But the eggs themselves were delicious. From there things went down hill in a hurry. The vegetable fried rice not only didn't have double extra onions, it had NO onions. None. And it was tasteless and had virtually nothing else in it except for zuchini, which I hate and didn't ask for. It was basically some rice mixed with soy sauce. The lemon chicken was old; OLD. It was probably at least a day or two old, hard and dried out. Definitely not prepared for this order. The sauce was very strange, I was afraid to use it. I most deeply resent being given a monstrosity like this for me to eat. The won ton soup tasted terrible, I couldn't eat it. Same with the hot and sour soup. The spring rolls and egg rolls were boring and tasteless and indistinguishable from each other. You could get better food than this from a vending machine in a bus terminal. Read the positive reviews so decided to give them a try. Not a good dining experience. Had the Kung Pao Chicken and Orange Chicken. Tasted like your average Chinese takeout, but worse. Tasted like bottled, overly sweet sauces. Positives were huge chunks of chicken (Orange) and the rice quality. Almost as if they blended Jasmine and sushi rice together. We have ordered several more times since the original review. Calamari and ribs have been somewhat inconsistent, as far as deliciousness, but never bad. We have now tried General Tso's chicken, roast pork/chicken with snow peas, sweet & sour chicken, beef rolls (appetizer), and dumplings. Snow peas were still crisp and not overcooked. Gen Tso's turned out to be dark meat which is not my favorite. Beef rolls were a gamble since we didn't know what to expect, due to no menu description. Google described beef rolls as usually being wrapped in scallion pancakes but these were in spring roll wrappers. Reminded me more of Vietnamese spring rolls. -Less veg, more meat. Really tasty, but pretty small. Dumplings were way too doughy. Sweet & sour chicken was light and crisp, but small pieces of chicken. Some additional notes: *Disappointed that house lo mein and fried rice are only chicken & shrimp now. You can see meat in other (older) review pics. *Calamari was ring-shaped this most recent order unlike the crosshatch-scored "curls" of previous orders. Still good though. *I really like that you can get plain lo mein instead of rice as the side for entrees (for additional $). *I also really like that their steamed/diet options have more offerings than most other places. *They have been accommodating to a few small special instruction requests/changes which was appreciated. Amazing food, but when I picked up the food, the lady at the front gave me an up and down, "I'm judging you" look and followed by a look of disapproval. I came from the office, I don't smoke or wear intense cologne, I was wearing clean, pressed clothes and I smelled fresh. I wanted to take the time to update my previous review of Chopstix as they made a complete turnaround. With my previous (and first) experience, I was highly disappointed it the quality of food. After our ordeal, I took to Yelp to express my concerns. Surprisingly the next day I received a phone call from the manager (or maybe owner) of the restaurant. She was extremely apologetic and asked me to give them another try. After agreeing, we received the same order for dinner. The woman who I spoke with bright our order and apologized again. She was kind and friendly. But more importantly she was appreciative that we were going to try it again. And I'm so glad we did!! The food came hot and fresh, with careful consideration of every touch. The first item was the Thai basil fried chicken. It was crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. The basil gave it an earthy tone to it that was so delicious. And it wasn't over-coated so you were able to taste the meat. I have never had chicken like this - little bites of tenderness and fresh herbs! Next we had the minced pork string beans with chilies. It came with buns that you could fill up that were a nice contrast to the smoky flavor. This will be on our list for every order. If you like spice, add this to your meal! We included some appetizers too - dumplings and crab rangoon. Both were filling and meaty! But the star of the evening was still the house special fried rice! Who knew fried rice could be this good! It have an abundance of shrimp, pork and chicken with rice and vegetables. It was seasoned so well that it didn't need soy sauce. We were scraping the container to get the last bit. I'm so glad that we gave Chopstix another try. And kudos to the team there for owning the mistake and making it right. That's good business to me. We ordered Kung Pao chicken and fish. We specifically mentioned no peanut and yet we were given food with peanuts. They almost hurt someone really bad. Would never recommend this place. This week was our first time trying this place, and we liked the food. While this isn't a gourmet Chinese place, the quality and taste were good. We ordered Singapore noodles, spicy shrimp with Thai basil and kungpao chicken, and all three dishes were yummy. This place changed over the years I'm not sure but did they changed the ownership? I have been ordering Thai basil drunken noodle since 2018 ( which was the best times and price was much less) and taste was awesome noodles were not over cooked and there was plenty meat in it. So today I ordered my favorite meal again and I haven't ordered long time maybe since 2019, however it was completely different than used to be. Noodle was over cooked and sticking to each other there were barely meat in it and meal color was red tasted like chili paste or tomato paste there is a picture of the food in the photos section you can see how the food used to look like not red and sticky. Honestly the price of that food had been raised pretty good over the years but I didn't cared first because I loved the taste and I missed it but now for sure this is probably my last visit. I will say they put maybe the most shrimp in their house special rice that I've ever encountered. (House special rice is my go to at every Chinese place). I also tried the sesame chicken and it was drowned in dry sesame seeds on top. As if someone spilled a bag on the finished product. The chicken was just ok but I will not be going back. Meh. Adequate for Chinese American-type food -- by that I mean the entrees are floating in "special" sauces that can then be ladled on some white rice. Generously sized portions, lots of run-of-the-mill vegetables, and the same kind of hot sauce used on several different dishes. As an example, I ordered Szechuan style tofu. Came with julienned red and green bell peppers and onions, with nicely-sized pieces of Tofu fried properly, and drowning in a reddish spicy sauce that overpowered even the taste of the green pepper! That's quite a feat, IMO. Most entrees are around $10, and appetizers are about $2.50 to $5. The online ordering system through EAT24 is kind of nice and painless, and is connected to your Yelp! account for easy log in. This will be a reasonable option if you're stuck inside during crappy weather and you don't want pizza, peruvian chicken or something better delivered to your house. Not great, but not bad. read more
