Tonight I'm frustrated. We've visited a few times. The food is good. The service is good. One guy was great and really hustled. And even ran the bag of tomatoes my sister brought me out to the parking lot because I forgot them! BUT!!! The lack of menus is unnerving. I have a smart phone but reading a menu from a QR code ruins it. I love browsing a menu. Also, we came with two little kids and popcorn chicken and fries was $8 each! I know prices are high right now. The kicker was that on our bill was a separate charge for two small (8 oz) plastic cups of sprite. $3.50 each!! I asked the server if drinks come with kids meals (there were no kids menus viewable to us. She had to read us the options) and she told me she'd check. And lo and behold they did. The worse part was the price the environment paid with all the wasted plastic cups of water that nobody drank. I guess you don't have to pay someone to wash dishes when everything is disposable. My first visit 1/8/22. Two of us had hamburgers and two of us had the mahi. Sides being garlic green beans and Grilled asparagus. The food was very good tasting but a bit on the cold side so I'm sure would have been better if served hot but good none the less. The green beans I understand should be crisp but they seemed too crisp, we took those homes and steamed them just a bit more with another meal so nothing gone to waste. Asparagus was really good. I wonder if they pool their tips, (or I hope so anyway) we gave our order to one server and two others brought our meal out and a couple others asked how we were doing and refilled our drinks and gave us our check. (our server wasn't busy) . I was ok with him not helping since I watched him stroke through his hair 3 times pushing it out of his face with his hand. He also served my drink with his fingers on top of the glass, ( I drank through the straw) I would have given this place 5 stars but I took the 1 away because of him and the cold food. This was our first time ording take out from Chop'd during the lock down. I was very impressed. The order was accurate and the burgers were great. We ordered the No Brainer, and it had plenty of food to feed a family of 4-6. The chicken strips were very tasty and love that it's not processed chicken, real chicken. The Mac&Cheese was also yummy. We were looking for a restaurant with patio dining during the COVID restrictions and Chop'd filled the bill with a permanent large covered patio that kept us nice and dry during a sudden downpour. The service was pretty mediocre and it seemed that most of the servers were being trained, but I'm sure this will improve with time - given the fact that restaurants have only recently been allowed to open with outdoor service, we were certainly willing to overlook any minor issues. We were never offered refills on our beverages or dessert and were pretty much ignored after our food was served by a food-runner. The server checked with us only once to see how our food was. There was a full menu which was really nice and offered a lot of variety. It would have been even better had our server been a bit more familiar with it. My granddaughter ordered the house steak specialty which was a very large, slightly overpriced, bone-in ribeye. I wish the menu had been a bit more descriptive because it came with some off-putting purple sauce/gravy all over it. It was tasty but she would have preferred the sauce on the side. The steak itself was delicious, nicely prepared and served attractively (except for the purple sauce) over cheesy potatoes with a side of beautifully prepared whole carrots. The plating was very esthetically pleasing. The server told us there were no substitutions, although for $49 I can't imagine why, so my granddaughter ordered a side of green beans because she doesn't like carrots. Again, they were tasty and well-prepared. Overall the dish was excellent and I believe a more experienced server would have been more helpful and made it even better. I ordered the jambalaya which I have to say was the best I have ever had, anywhere! It had shrimp, chicken and andouille sausage and looked very fresh and bright with fresh tomatoes and other vegetables. It was served over rice and had excellent proportions of meat, vegetables, sauce and rice. It was spicy but not overpoweringly so. It was honestly better than anything I have had in New Orleans! I would go back to Chop'd just for that. Everything on the menu, except the steak, seemed reasonably priced. The service can only get better (so many restaurants were unable to maintain their wait-staff during the shutdown that the less than perfect service was understandable) and that will definitely enhance the experience. On 5/22/21 I purchased a New York strip steak that was awful. It looked and tasted like a low quality piece of meat. For that reason alone, I gave it 1 star. I really wish I would have returned it. After looking at the charge for it on my visa today I am so disappointed. read more

It was beyond delicious I actually tried the dip (mango honey mustard) & honestly it doesn't need any dip. I also had a pear sangria which was divine! I almost ordered another but I knew I had to drive home lol. For an entree I ordered the mother clucker, it's a chicken sandwich that's lightly battered (tempura) and it was SO GOOD . I honestly tried to save half because it was pretty large and came with a side (I had a salad) but the sandwich was so yummy that I ate the entire thing and my salad. Yup greedy but left out full and happy. The only thing I didn't like is the appetizer/small plates & cups are already at the table which means to me whoever was sitting at the table before me could have touched all over them. This used to be my absolute #1 spot for me and my family. The staff is amazing and they recognize my family and I every time we walk in. The salads are great. I am very disappointed about the new beer menu and it's a dealbreaker. For example they got rid of the lost coast tangerine wheat. They didn't even replace it with a Belgian white and now there is no Belgian white on the draft menu which is super disappointing. Also they took off the original smok'd old fashioned which I loved. This is a great place for a drink. It has a great atmosphere and is also open for indoor dining right now during Covid. Unfortunately I don't think it is going to survive after Covid. I think something was wrong with the cut they used cause it felt like there was a tendon running through it. Cooked medium rare but still like shoe leather when you cut and chewed. We went for the first time during the afternoon on a Saturday so can't speak to busier times, but we loved the food. Got the mother clucker and chips, a burger and fries as well as pretzel bites between us. We liked that water was on the table (served in small glasses unlike what another reviewer mentioned). We ordered for pick up and were extremely disappointed when we got home and all of our food was undercooked and cold (we live in the neighborhood behind the restaurant so it was less than 5 minutes to get home) the food was good but considering we had to reheat everything we won't be returning. Went to Dinner for St paddy Day, approx 7pm. Big mistake. First off, they had signs all over about a St Paddys Day Special, on the doors and on the tables, and had NO corned beef at all. Then there were items on their menu that are no longer available. Then the drink order was wrong. Then the food order was wrong. Then we get the bill and we were charged for an item the waiter forgot to bring us. Poor service, disappointing all around. It was a party of 3, and one of us ended up not even eating after attempting to order 2 items from the menu that had been "86'ed" according to the server. Then why are they still on the menu?? We still tipped the waiter 15% because its the right thing to do. But, this is our final visit to this place. The first couple times we really liked it. But, the last 3 times , there have been issues with the service and the food. They just cost too much to put up with the increasingly bad service. read more

I have been to Chop'd the last two weekends for dinner. On both occasions I found the employees from the hostess stand to the servers to be very welcoming, polite and friendly. Servers were attentive but not invasive-never felt rushed. I ordered a mixed drink each time and they were as attractive as they were tasty! Last night we all ordered different items and everyone loved their meals. My brother-in-law ordered salmon. It was beautifully presented-he raved about the flavor. My sister ordered a steak and she said it was perfectly done. The rest of us ordered different sandwiches which we were all pleased. Loved the generous portion of crispy tater tots! Both nights there was a singer entertaining that made our evening even more enjoyable!
