Located in a strip mall on 159th across from the old Plainfield Walmart, Chop'd is a restaurant that offers steaks, burgers, sandwiches, pasta, pizza, and more. This was our first visit even though we live five minutes away. Primary reason being we thought this was an upscale steakhouse. Not sure why, but that was what we thought. From the outside, it appears dark and dreary. On the inside, it is bright, spacious, and very inviting. We ordered a cheeseburger, a steakhouse burger, and a mother clucker (a tempura battered chicken sandwich). All three were delicious, and huge. The chicken sandwich was the biggest chicken sandwich I've ever had. All three sandwiches came with homemade chips, but we upgraded to homemade fries for an extra $2. Our server (Derek) was very attentive, and very pleasant. We ate inside, but this place also has a huge outdoor eating area. It may have taken us five years to get here, but the great food and service will bring us back very soon. Highly recommend. read more

I loved my dinner at Chop'd! I came with my husband for a date night. While we opted for indoor seating, it's still late summer and they have patio seating outdoors with live music. It's a great vibe and the place was bustling with families, large groups celebrating something special, date nights, and the like. We ordered: His cocktail: Rye Not My cocktail: Tangerine Slice App: Whipped Ricotta and Honey App: Dipper Fries His main: Chop'd Burger My main: Cajun Pesto Pasta There are a bunch of TVs inside and a huge bar with seating. I was amazed at how huge their space was. Chop'd shares an entrance with Khaos Brewcade on the other side, and their space is large enough for private parties etc. I can imagine this place being booked for showers, birthdays, really any occasion with a big group. Their food was delicious, their drinks were strong, their service was quick and friendly. It's a local neighborhood establishment that folks have as their go-to, is the sense that I got. I only have great things to say! Next time I'd love to get their Devil's 3 Way Burger (topped with jalapeno poppers, ghost pepper cheese, and a spicy avocado spread)... and also their Buffalo Chicken Wrap... and also their Pasta ala Vodka. My eyes had a bigger appetite than my stomach and it was hard to choose between all the options, their Cajun Pesto Pasta was a home run. The chicken breast was blackened with the spice rub and it had a zippy spice that was delicious. I could never bread and cook a chicken breast that wasn't dry and was so tender. Compliments to the chef! Their drink menu is extensive and there are so many creative cocktails (my drink section of choice). The tangerine slice was tasty and was served with a candied hibiscus flower. I also contemplated the espresso martini... this place is like an adult beverage amusement park. If we didn't have a baby to pick up from grandma's (who graciously babysat so we could have a date night), we would've each had a few more rounds. I love this place, we will be back! read more

I wouldn't go out of my way to dine here, yet if I'm in the area, I know I can get a consistently good food and service there...yet the place isn't a wow. They make a pretty good bloody mary. Nice spacious restaurant with tons of seating both inside and outside on a patio. Great if you need a spot where you don't feel cramped at all with lots of tables that are spaced nicely from one another, tons of parking, and fairly nice bathroom facilities. The service is also quick and friendly. The prices are reasonable here for the large portion sizes that you get. Though there could be a bit more variety on the menu, the options do cover a good variety of options from pizzas to sandwiches to pastas and even some entrees. The food here is surprisingly good with nice flavor combinations and fairly food textures. On the pasta alla vodka, the sauce had a good level of spiciness and creaminess to it that helped to combine all the elements together. On the chop'd burger, the meat was cooked to a good tender texture with a good mix of sweet and savory that gave the burger a nice rich flavor which was served with crispy chips. The smoked bbq chicken pizza was a surprisingly large size with a nice thick layer of cheeses and a crust that was airy and very crispy. Not very happy as we went to dinner on Sunday night. The food was cold and I returned my dinner because was too cold to eat. Everyone else kept theirs because they were hungry because it took a while to come out. After they remade it itwas still Luke warm but not cold. Our server said she told her manager and no one ever came back to our table at all. When I go out to dinner I except hot food that is all. It would have been nice to talk with a manager. read more

My family and I had dinner here and it was a pretty decent place. The inside of the restaurant is an odd space but it has a really great looking patio. When you walk in, there is a bar to the left with about 20 arcade games, which was a lot of fun. I ate the steak umm and got tater tots to accompany it. It was very good. My wife ate the crab bread for her meal which was good and my daughter had the sliders and sprouts. I tried the sprouts and they had a nice light chili sauce on them. I had the tropical palm cocktail and really found it tasty. My favorite part of our dinner was the server we had was exceptional. Service is hard to review as I find it to be more dynamic than food quality and ambiance but I wanted to spend more time discussing it as I really thought it was great. I was in the mood for a burger and found Chop'd on Yelp and decided to give it a try. The first thing that strikes you is how big the restaurant is. There is also additional seating available outside. I got the Chop'd burger. It was cooked a little less than medium and came with bacon jam and a blue cheese sauce. It was very sweet and tasted amazing. The chips were dusted with ranch seasoning and tasted fresh. We had peanut butter chocolate cake for dessert. Came here to try to celebrate my birthday with family. We asked to be seated outside, the table they gave us was in the sun. In the middle of July obviously it was hot. We asked our waiter if he can move us to the shade. Which he very kindly said yes right away and moved 2 tables together for us as we were 7 total. Within 3 mins of being seated, the manager Taylor comes screaming "YOU GUYS CANT BE SEATED THERE. THIS IS ALL RESERVED. THATS WHY WE SAT WHERE YOU WHERE WE DID" no type of apology or not even asked us to kindly to move. She kept repeating we needed to move as it was all reserved. I understand it all being reserved but if that was the case, how come the waiter wasn't aware? She tried blaming the waiter saying "her staff didn't know and she's going to talk to them" why? Why not kindly find us a different table and respectfully ask us to move? We got up and left. Never will we ever give money to a business like that. Absolutely the most unprofessional manager I have ever met. My dad has been in the restaurant business for 27+ yrs, me being in the dealership, sales/customer service for the #1 rated top Ford dealer in the region . My wife and I stopped in last week for dinner. We opted to sit on the patio for dinner and the live music. Everything was great! Food and service and ambiance were all really nice. I had the Reuben Sandwich and the fries. Sandwich was pretty standard for a Reuben but good. Fries were also really good and I love the way they were cut. Wife had the pasta with shrimp and she also really liked it. Music was a bit loud but maybe I attribute that to sitting pretty close to the speaker. My family arrived prior to the restaurant on 7-19 at 5pm (cst) having reservations to celebrate my sisters birthday first time coming to this restaurant.A total of 6 adults and one toddler. When they arrived they were seated in the patio section, only two additional tables were seated. They had asked to be moved to the shade so we could eat more comfortable. The waiter was helpful and moved two tables together to be able to sit on the shade. As my family was sitting down, the manager Tayler, ran through the outside doors yelling at my family telling they couldn't sit there due to it being reserved. No acknowledgement or courtesy conversation prior to accusing my family at such a silly thing Especially at such a disrespectful tone. My family all being in aviation careers including myself and my husband being a higher up in the police force felt disrespected to the point where they didn't feel comfortable staying to eat. They left prior to my arrival. I am glad they did, the conversation would have gone differently if she had spoken to us the way she did in front of my toddler, as well as my husband being there. We've traveled all over the world and not once have we have been treated the way my family did yesterday afternoon. Had lunch here with my niece. This is a very big venue great place to meet friends for drinks or even to come with a group of people. Large bar, plenty of seating and an outdoor patio. TVs around the room to capture sporting events. I had the 815 which is a chicken sandwich fried with a special aïoli sauce. Very tasty. My niece had a salmon bowl which she said was very good. Quality of the restaurant, which we have always enjoyed, has been deteriorating. Our experience last night -- my wife wanted to order dessert, so we decided to share Bread Pudding, which is probaby her favorite. When the Bread Pudding arrived she immediately noticed that it did not have the advertised Butter Rum Sauce on it, and instead just had a chocolate drizzle (which isn't very complimentary of the flaovir and raisins in Bread Pudding). When we finally were able to get our waitress's attention we asked her to confirm that the Bread Pudding was supposed to have Butter Rum Sauce. Her response: "Yeah, it is supposed to have it but we ran out, so we substituted Chocolate Sauce. I guess I should have told you." Yeah, maybe you should have. SMH. Still love this place and their awesome patio and food. I'm a little bummed because I showed up to watch football and they don't have the NFL Sunday Ticket. An employee had previously told me that they do have it so when I got there and asked for a game that wasn't on local cable, I was unable to watch it. Has some pricey items so read the menu carefully or you might get something that will drain your wallet and the color from your face. There's not a whole lot for vegetarians but some things are okay. Came in after going around the brewcade. It's basically the same building so you're in both places at once. This technically is really a separate business but they share many things. Among these is the beer. Order it off this place's beer menu. I had the Funk Off, from Khaos. It's $6.50 a pint. This can be better described in the Khaos entry, but it's sour. Let's talk more about the food. We shared the Hummus 3 Ways. It's $12 and comes with pita bread. The flavors are: avocado, original, and red pepper. All were good. The avocado was the most unique because this isn't as common but it had a nice creaminess like guacamole does and imagine it mixed with hummus for a real creamy treat. Certainly we could come here again. It was fun in the brewcade so we could get something here. I enjoyed my first visit to Chop'd. I didn't realize it was attached to Khaos Brewing, which makes it extra interesting for return trips. The Pretzel Crab Bread is a great appetizer-fairly rich in flavor so if you've got 3+ to share, it's a good start. I had the Merkts Mac 'n Cheese which was spicy-the server warned me-and was just as good the next day at lunch. Any time something has Merkts in it I order it, so it's extra rich and cheesy. The draft choices were good and I had the Khaos Yo Yo Crispy (x2) which was a lighter IPA that was just-the-right temperature on a hot summer evening. I have never been able to put an order through their online ordering system. There is an error EVERY TIME and we have to call instead. Don't waste your time trying to place an order through their website because it literally never works, at least not in my experience (and we've ordered takeout there many times since they opened) The last couple times we've ordered they didn't have the Cubano pizza in stock, but it was finally back! It's so good. The taste gets kinda to be too much after the first piece or two but it's just as good leftover the next day (both cold & heated up). The Cookie Butter bar was soooo good! I thought after we were sat that they should probably ask if people are okay with being sat up there. The service was good, but there was a wedding reception in a room on the main level, so food took quite a while. We both ordered the Muther Clucker...one with tots and one with chips. Both were pretty good. Nice light crispy batter and juicy chicken. Chips and tots were average. I know prices are increasing for everything but I can't get over the prices here.
