I always preface bad reviews with... "maybe I ordered the wrong thing..."
But not this time. Seriously, for a $12 salad it should've been way more fresh. The leafy greens were wilted to ALMOST brown. In other words, if your greens looked this way in your fridge, you would throw them away. It was gross b/c the leaves were so fricken shriveled up.
I'll stick to my $5 subway salad, always fresh, always good.

UPDATE:
OK, so after I wrote this review the owner contacted me and asked me to come in again for a salad on the house. In all my years of yelping, this has never happened, so of course I took him up on the offer.
The Good:
1. Salad is actually really tasty, the greens were less wilted... it's a good place for people who like their salad chopped up rather than shoving big pieces of lettuce in your mouth -- my co-worker pointed that out.
2. The owner is very nice and I can see the business is really booming and doing well. It's a great concept.
The Not-So-Good:
I hate to say it, but I was disappointed with the following:
1. There are only two registers -- when the line is going out the door, doesn't it make sense to put phone orders on hold while the customers IN the store are being helped first?
2. My name wasn't on the list for a free salad, so the employee directed me to the assistant manager (or maybe she was the manager, I don't remember). I was standing in front of her for a while -- she was on the phone taking a phone order. When she hung up she didn't bother to look at me or even recognize I was standing there and went about her business behind the counter. Finally she directed me back to the first employee, who said, "she needs to see you for a free salad." Honestly, for a business that just opened, I was expecting better customer service. But grand opening or not, I don't like being ignored when an employee has clearly seen me standing there... people don't like feeling like chumps...
3. When I started ordering my salad, I guess I ordered more than the 6 items... she blurted out - "Oh, so you're going OVER the six?" The wilted salad I first ordered cost almost $12, and yes, I went over the six items.. so shouldn't my free salad be equivalent to it? Anyway, it made me feel like the nice gesture was suddenly backhanded. I could feel her eyes impatiently waiting for me to complete my order.
4. They screwed up on the order. I also ordered a wrap, which came out as a salad. I pointed it out and had to wait an additional 10 minutes for it. When I got back to the office and handed the wrap to my co-worker, she immediately said, "Oh, they didn't even cut it... hey, where's my chipotle sauce?!"
Bottom line, this place does really well and rightfully so, I think the salads taste ok, but I probably won't be coming back as I feel customer service is more important than a good meal. I give it 2 1/2 stars. read more
