Sweetfin labels themselves as chef-inspired poke bowls with premium ingredients and bold flavours. Unfortunately, this is far from it. Having spent $93.40, the quality of the yellowfin tuna is hardly high quality and the quantity of fish was about 1/3 the amount of regular poke places. Items ordered were the Classic Tura, Superfood Bowl, Spicy Tuna Bowl, Keto Bowl, and two different BYOB burrito - all barely had any flavour...can we say bland? Also, the bowls and burritos were filled with primarily the base ingredients (rice/cauliflower rice), sweet potatoes, kale and bean sprouts (depending upon the bowl selected). These items are not only inexpensive but fills up the bowl. If you call it a poke bowl, at least 50 percent of the bowl should be filled with poke and not filler. Otherwise, it would be called a rice bowl with poke! Street parking is difficult in this Burbank location and I was greeted with a hostile attitude even though I spent nearly $100.00. The street parking is a little challenging. It was busy but we got lucky and found a spot right in front. Stopped by and would not have known it was a poke spot. I'm so glad there was a healthy option nearby my hotel. Sweetfin offers fresh, healthy, and delicious poke bowls. They're generous with their portions and there are lots of mix-in, toppings, and dressings to choose from. Mango and edamame is so good! The only drawback was their ordering system. There's one only ginormous kiosk and the problem I'm finding with these systems is that their UI is a bit confusing, you can't keep track of what you did/didn't add to your bowl and when you need help, employees aren't even in the room. The first time I came here there was a really friendly woman and I told her that this was the friendliest Sweetfin I've been to. Recent visits they barely look at you. I have visited this location in Burbank a number of times. They offer poke bowls, box sampler and burritos in a variety of options; plant based, seafood, keto and superfood. I usually go with building my own poke bowl. The ingredients are fresh, the regular and large size are good portions and the staff is always helpful with the menu (I like trying different combinations). There are 2 small tables for 2 inside and a couple of tables and chairs for outside seating. Seems to be more of a pick up and go type of place but I'd you plan to dine in, make time for 10 extra minutes to find parking if you drive. I have enjoyed every order to date. I've been to a few other Sweetfin locations and I've always had a good experience. I like they have options like black rice and kelp noodles. I got them both in my bowl - but that might have been too healthy, lol. I got that for my bowl with albacore and yellowtail. Got my husband's bowl with bamboo rice with salmon and albacore. I don't like that you can only get two proteins, even if you get the large bowl. I would have added tuna. Overall the bowls were fresh, but mine tasted a bit too healthy? Sweetfin! How long have you been open!? I have deep regret for not noticing and becoming a regular on day one. Tonight I happened to go into my Find me Gluten app and stumbled upon this gem. I went in and asked the golden question .. "do you have wild caught fish?" yes! the gentleman was great with me and made several recommendations since I cant handle the heat. I left with a bowl, half yellowfin and half tuna. Half black rice (wow!) and half bamboo rice. He gave me some sauce that would've came with the bowl but I had changed it bc I was nervous it would've been too spicy. What I can say is that I thoroughly enjoyed this bowl from beginning to end. First experience at Sweetfin last Thursday (5/6/21) for dinner, and I have to say, I'm pretty impressed. The quality here is definitely elevated. To eat, I ordered a large build your own bowl with Yellowfin Tuna and Albacore Tuna, yuzu kosho, bamboo rice, wasabi furikake, cucumbers, pineapple, and double seaweed salad. Prices are fair considering the quality. I think my bowl came out to ~$14 plus tip. Honestly, I thought this was one of the best poke bowls that I've had in a while. You can really tell that the fish quality is way beyond what most standard poke places (in California) serve. The seaweed salad, pineapple, and cucumbers were great too. On the negative, I think the rice could use some work. I also wish the yuzu kosho was a little stronger. The biggest downside of Sweetfin though is the quantity. I believe the server said the large has 4 ounces of fish, which is certainly on the smaller side. All things considered, I really enjoyed my first experience at Sweetfin. I'll admit, I was a little skeptical of the marketing and hype prior to coming, but this place definitely deserves the praise. Thought we would try something new but this did not impress. The listing said it was Japanese cuisine but I get more of a Korean vibe from the flavors. I don't mind but it wasn't what I was expecting. I got the custom box but you can only customize 2 dishes in the box while the chips and noodles are already included. All flavor is spicy. If you like that, great! I don't have a high spice tolerance and the red peppers were too much for me but came in both the default noodles and tofu dish. After visiting Sweetfin in Santa Monica and Woodland Hills at the Village, I was excited to see that they finally opened a Sweetfin Poke place here in Burbank. I give this place ONE STAR based on the fact that they are in a horrible area of Burbank where parking is scarce & the two dudes working behind the counter are more motivated to serve online orders versus walk in customers standing right in front of them. After circling for 10 minutes and finally finding a parking spot, I walk in and am asked if I could wait 10 minutes before ordering because they are very busy with orders taken by the app or third party food delivery / pick up. After standing there for about five minutes and a few people walking in and then walking out because they don't want to wait, i'm finally told that it would be easier if I placed my order on the app, rather then telling it to them. that would've been nice to know when I walked in rather than waiting 10 minutes later to be told that. Either way, I am not going to download an app just to order food?! Seems ridiculous if I'm standing right there and I am ready to order. Needless to say I was not interested in the obstacles, just to place an order. Not sure why they couldn't just help the people that were inside and ready to order. They prioritize mobile orders, it's ridiculous when you walk into their business and are made to wait 20 minutes for a veggie bowl just because you ordered at the counter instead of online. The last time we came in the staff seemed to be very on edge and not focused on the orders which made us uncomfortable. The Yuzu Salmon bowl (6/10), the forbidden rice was undercooked, missing ingredients, and the entire bowl was a bit bland and tasteless. Also the build your own bowls need more variety! They only offer 3 types of fish, and you can only choose 1, the rest are an extra charge, and they don't even put many in there. Its a useless charge for the amount you receive.
