Note the rating is based on our experience with one of the workers and not about the actual food. Date: March 30, 2026 Selections: Large bowl Experience: I was excited to get poke because I was craving it earlier. Ended up going for dinner with the family and husband. They made us fill out a paper order since we were a group of 5. Our orders were filled by two different people, Kimberly (who messed up my brother's girlfriend's order and my mom's order) and Paola (who made sure to follow-up with my husband and I about our requests and informed us if they had items that were no longer available). We watched Kimberly put soba noodles into my mom's order even though she didn't ask for it and she denied it, even though she was clearly distracted chatting with a regular customer who was behind us. My mom kept asking and Kimberly was confident she didn't put the noodles in the order and rang the order up. My mom checked her bowl and there were noodles. Kimberly refused to give us the paper order since she had tossed it, but Paola was kind enough to redo the order. My brother's girlfriend had crossed off items from her original order, but Kimberley ended up ignoring her marks and also didn't inform her they had no more of a certain item that Paola had told my husband and I they ran out. She decided to keep her order since she didn't want to deal with Kimberly. Kimberley ended up requesting for the food order she messed up on back and she tossed it. We definitely ended up holding up the line because of the redo for one of the bowls and think that it would've been better if they just did our orders one by one verbally, so we could make sure our order was done right. Unsure if I will come back if Kimberly is still there cause I don't trust her taking my order and was glad Paola was the one that took my husband and I's order.

Stopped by for a quick lunch and it did not disappoint. The bowl might look small, but it's actually packed with a ton of food. I got the small bowl with two protein choices, and it was more filling than expected. I was excited to see they had sweet egg you don't usually find that at poke spots. Everything tasted super fresh, from the fish to the veggies. The place itself is bright, clean, and the staff was really friendly.

    Medium poke bowl to-go.

Tasteless bland spicy tuna. All I can say to myself is what a waste of money. I could've ordered something better from somewhere else.

They had a couple of orders for pickup/to-go while I was there so maybe that's where most of their business comes from... Chicken Katsu was a good amount of chicken, crispy but on the dry side. I really enjoy that they have mini portions good for budget and waistline. I got mini beef short ribs and it came with two pieces of meat, mac salad and rice. Service was very friendly. Cashier will talk stories with you and tell you how he makes the food. Now onto the food. The reason why I rated this 3 stars is because it could improve a lot. Portion met the standards (which they give a lot in Hawaii in multiple LnL locations). The taste and how they made the kalua pork was ok. The taste was a little bland and like any other kalua pork, it has to be mixed with the cabbage, this place didn't. The cabbage was underneath and still freshly cut. A good kalua pork would be mixed with the cabbage so the cabbage is soft. And I get it, people don't like cabbage sometimes, but that's just the dish. I feel like the kalua pork could be more tender as it was a little rough to munch on and more with the seasonings. This place can improve a lot. Hopefully they can contact LnL in Hawaii to help with the recipes and cooking methods (:

Didn't want run of the mill food so opted to try Broken Compass Tiki. When we walked in we were wondering what we were in for. After being taken into the restaurant we both fell in love. The place was so fun, the food was epic and service tremendous. Since our first visit literally 4 months ago, I have taken people 3 different times to this restaurant. I don't live any where near Burbank but in the last few months had the pleasure of being near there and telling friends we had to go! It's so fun to go with first timers. Great vegan options too for my friend who is Vegan and usually gets a salad and fries ha.

    - Broken Compass Tiki…read more My girlfriend and I absolutely loved Broken Compass Tiki. I originally found it on TikTok, followed up with a few YouTube videos, and knew I had to check it out the next time we were in Burbank. It completely lived up to the hype. Parking can be a little challenging since it's in Burbank, but we got lucky and found a street parking spot nearby. If you don't get as lucky, driving around the block or into the surrounding neighborhood should eventually turn something up. We arrived about 20 minutes after they opened, and there were already several people inside. By the time we left, the place was filling up quickly, so it's definitely a popular spot. I surprised my girlfriend by keeping the destination a secret and just telling her we were going somewhere fun with a unique theme. She loved it. From the moment we walked in, the service was outstanding. Both the bartender and our server were incredibly welcoming. Our server asked whether it was our first visit and took the time to ask what kinds of drinks we normally enjoy before making recommendations. I really appreciated that he wasn't just trying to upsell us. Instead, he explained why he thought certain cocktails were better choices based on our preferences, and every recommendation ended up being spot on. As you'd expect from a tiki bar, the cocktail menu is heavily rum-focused, but there are also non-alcoholic drinks, a small beer selection, and wine available if rum isn't your thing. I ordered the Zombie Magic first, which was delicious and definitely packed a punch. After that, I tried the 100 Year Cigar, a Scotch-based cocktail that was perfect for slowly sipping. Both drinks were fantastic. My girlfriend ordered the Painkiller and the Navy Grog, and she loved both of them. We started with the Shut It Polly wings, crispy chicken wings tossed in a spicy Thai peanut sauce, and they were outstanding. We also ordered the Aloha Dippers with the Cajun seasoning. I paired mine with the Chipotle Citrus Aioli, while my girlfriend chose the Firecracker sauce. Both dipping sauces were excellent and complemented the fries really well. For our entrées, I ordered the Pub Burger with Irish cheddar, onion strings, and horseradish aioli, cooked to order. It was excellent. My girlfriend ordered the Shrimp & Lobster Roll, and we both enjoyed it. The only item that didn't quite meet our expectations was the macaroni salad that came with our meals. We've had some incredible macaroni salad at Hawaiian restaurants, and this one just didn't quite compare. It certainly wasn't bad, but it was the one part of the meal that didn't stand out. One thing that really impressed me was how accommodating the staff was regarding my raw fruit allergy. I explained what I could and couldn't safely eat or drink, and our server took it seriously. He made sure every cocktail recommendation was safe for me without sacrificing flavor or experience. That level of attention made me feel comfortable ordering drinks I otherwise might have avoided. The décor is also worth mentioning. The pirate-themed exterior transitions into a fun pirate-and-tiki atmosphere inside that really adds to the experience without feeling overdone. Overall, this place exceeded our expectations. The drinks were strong and creative, the food was excellent, the service was some of the best we've had in a long time, and the atmosphere was a blast. There are still plenty of cocktails on the menu that I'd like to try, so we'll definitely be back the next time we're in Burbank.

My boyfriend and I were across the street at Fantasia watching a World Cup came, and after we were craving hand rolls, when he spotted Toro Sushi Poke House. We took a look at their menu which was displayed on the outside. The prices were really affordable, so we just had to try it, and were so glad we did because this was one of the most affordable and delicious nigiri and hand roll experiences we've had! The place itself is small and intimate. They have a bar area and few tables inside and a small outdoor seating as well. When we entered we were greeted by our friendly waiter, and seated immediately. It was pretty empty around 5 pm on a Friday, which was convenient because we didn't have to wait for a table. I'm not sure how packed this place normally gets, but it was also the long holiday weekend, so that might be why. We started off with the fatty tuna nigiri. For $6 you get two big pieces, which is so affordable, and the quality was amazing! We then each got the 6 piece hand roll set which came with a spicy tuna, scallop, yellow tail, crab, salmon, and toro. I'm not a fan of scallops, so I switched it out with a yellow tail roll. The fish was top quality and delicious. I cannot wait to come back here and stuff my face again!

The baked salmon and crab roll was excellent and much larger than I expected, which was definitely a pleasant surprise! The chicken udon was flavorful and generously packed with chicken. To top it all off, the takoyaki arrived fresh, hot, and perfectly prepared. Overall, the combination of outstanding service, fresh ingredients, and generous portions made for a wonderful dining experience.
