They have a shelf with merch and I recognized some artists from the Bay Area in there! The person helping us told me they like to support small businesses and they were definitely doing so. Now, on to the most important part: the food. I ordered the Kalbi ribs, my husband ordered the loco moco, and our nieces ordered the chicken teriyaki and a spam musubi to share. The ribs were super tender and so good. I almost didn't want to offer my husband one. But I did and he really enjoyed it. He loved his loco moco so much, he barely spoke a word to me while he was eating. Our niece also really enjoyed their food and polished off their plates (just like us). Their dipping sauce for the chicken is very tasty. If they just sold that in bottles, I'd come just to buy that for use at home! I liked it very much, because it is in the style of the basic macaroni salad -- someone described it as going home to Hawaii for them -- and I think that's what it is. Staff are really nice and moved two tables together for us in the corner, and they have high chairs available for kids. We ordered two macademia nut pancakes and a breakfast plate with kalua pig and Portuguese sausage. My father-in-law also got a coffee (it's Folgers) to share with my husband. It was the perfect amount of food to share amongst the three of us, so you don't have to each order an entree because the portion sizes are huge. The pancakes and fluffy and chewy, and the custard and macademia nuts on top made it not-too-sweet and creamy. The kalua pig was so tender and melt in your mouth--a little bit salty but balanced out with the rice and egg. My only qualm was the paper plates that they gave us started tearing kind of quickly the moment it absorbed any oil from the food, so I had a hole in the middle of my plate that you could see the table through for half of the meal.
