Went here because I got a flyer with some coupons. I used the 2 bowls, 50% off. This place is easy to miss. When we were driving down Riverside Dr. we were keeping an eye out, but still missed it. It's next to Bob's Big Boy, but sandwiched in-between other shops, a pair of trees, and there's a bus stop shelter covering the front. Anyway...I ended up parking my car on a residential street and we just walked it, trying to find it that way. Once you find it, it has a nice outdoor area and inside it's clean and modern with a wall of plants. You can go to the counter to order or use the QR code at the tables. Everything looks healthy, which is great if you're vegan/vegetarian like me or a meat eater like my sister since there's options for both. We were given a number and the food was brought out to our table fairly quickly. The portions are big enough to take some home and the food tastes great. My stomach was growling before we got here and I was sure I'd be able to finish it all, but still had some leftovers, which is good since it is a little expensive. There's also agua frescas to drink, which also tasted good, and were pleasantly surprised that they came in cute mason jars with a handle that you can take home. Overall, it was a good experience except for trying to find the place and parking.

MEXI CALI CAESAR CHIX with a Grasshopper in it

GRASSHOPPER IN THE SALAD I placed a Doordash order to this location and I rarely leave reviews, but my experience was so awful that I had to. I ordered the Mexi Cali Caesar Chix Salad, ate a few bites, and then saw that there was an entire fully intact GRASSHOPPER in my salad. The body, eyeballs, and legs were clearly visible. I know for a fact that it was the restaurant and not the dasher, due to the fact that the bag was fully sealed before I opened it. I understand these things can happen, but the grasshopper was so large and fully embodied, it blows my mind that someone could miss that when making the salad. It was literally bigger than some of the chicken pieces. This clearly leads me to believe that the lettuce wasn't washed properly. I was absolutely disgusted and will never dine at this Tocaya or any other Tocaya again.

VEGAN OPTIONS!!!!! VERY LOUD MUSIC...... We asked them to turn it down and they did . Two tacos were tofu. The tofu was a little spicy, but it was OK. Maybe just seasoning the tofu not just making it spicy will be good. Garlic powder, onion powder, some and pepper maybe a little bit of dry herbs then sauté it. And one I believe was jackfruit, but they were all good. I came all the way from Canyon country so you know they must be good. I will be back. Oh, and I ordered tortilla soup to go.

This place is incredible! My partner and I frequent here for Taco Tuesday. They have amazing happy hour deals (dine-in only), attentive, helpful, and quick service, oh and everything we've tried has been sooo good! Do yourself a favor and try everything on the menu you can Spoiler: the guacamole has pomegranate which is an absolute game changer

Went in Sunday night and the place was almost empty. We got the chips, salsa, guacamole, tocaya salad, guiltless quesadilla, and street corn en fuego. Everything tasted amazing except for the tocaya salad that had water sitting on the bottom and some of the lettuce was frozen but didn't say anything. We also had the cucumber mint I believe and the hibiscus drinks which were great.

    Steak BURRITO MEXICANO

Ha! Ok so I rarely do reviews. I only make them when something is so ridiculous that it has to be written about. I just want to start off by saying that shrinkflation should be a crime. It is actually very sad to pass off the burden of the economy to the customer by diminishing your brand and your product. The fish tacos here used to be a hit but I unfortunately cannot support this franchise anymore. Yesterday I placed an order for delivery in which I ordered two tacos and a burrito the tacos I kid you not were basically the size of a finger these tacos. I need to remind everyone were once a very, very satisfying meal that one could grab because the fish inside of the taco were very large and massive and overtime. I've noticed that these items have gotten smaller and smaller and smaller to a point that is almost Laughable the birria torta here used to be a very good deal at $13. You used to get a very nice size torta with a good amount of meat and now what they have done is lied to the customers by switching out the bread that it's on to one that is also now the size of a closed fist. It is very small and the fact that you advertise different bread types online for different sandwiches and you're knowingly swapping it out with the smaller bread size that is not intended for the sandwich is wrong. I unfortunately have to bring this to the attention of corporate because I truly don't know if this is a corporate issue or if this is a franchise manager, looking to get one over on their customers by fattening their own pockets without the corporate entities knowing. I understand that you are located in an area that has high income this does not mean that because people have higher income that you should be taking advantage of them by giving them smaller quantities of food I need to remind you that you are in LA and you are part of a chain being in LA means that you are competing with other Mexican food, spots and trucks that offer amazing quantities and amazing food by talented people so the fact that someone chooses to come to your spot already says a lot I can name various spots that are a little bit outside of reach, but are willing to deliver that I will gladly pay a premium for just to not get screwed over by you guys. I will not be naming them here as I am hoping you guys will correct this issue I do not want to redirect other people to other businesses unless you guys make it right now. The last thing I need to explain is the burrito I received. getting a steak burrito from this place is actually an extra cost. The steak cost more money obviously I have taken a photo of the burrito. I received here for your convenience. The burrito as you can see is about 98% rice and beans and 2% meat. This is totally unacceptable and is another form of customer abuse in terms of offering them less of the expensive item so your numbers look better on paper. This is unfair for the customer, especially when they are paying you a premium like I said, choosing to dine in at your establishment and choosing you over the other amazing talented places that they can be going to in the area or neighboring areas. I have taken a couple photos below to show you and if things are corrected, and I also hear back from corporate ,I will continue to randomly dine in at this location just to personally make sure that the quality control stays on point. This is unfair to your customers and it is also unfair for the locals that live minutes away from you. I think I speak for everyone when I say that someone has to hold these businesses accountable. I understand times are tough right now, but it's better to be honest with your customer base than to greedily slip the rug out from under them.

Thankfully we finally caved in because we've been sleeping on this place for years! It's located off of Lankershim Blvd & Academy Way, basically next to the Laemmle Noho 7 and the Saban Media Center. Bruxie was kind of hard to gauge on how to order - there's a walk-up window for ordering and pick-up orders, but employees can also walk right up to you and place your order for you. You can also order online ahead, so yeah slightly confusing but as long as you put your order in you're golden. They have four big tables outside along with counter seating on the sidewalk. If it gets too hot or cold, they also have seating inside an old train car that is purely counters only. We sat inside the train car, but the only caveat is that people are constantly going in/out and they sometimes leave the door open. They also have a water station inside the train car if you want to cool off. My wife and I both ordered the Kickin' "Nashville" Hot Chicken Sandwich and we shared the Loaded Waffle-Cut Fries. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time - if you're dining there, the employees bring out your food wherever you are and provide plastic utensils along with sauces. The hot chicken sandos live up to their namesake, packing quite a kick! The loaded waffle fries hit the spot. If you're in NoHo looking for some good chicken & waffles, Bruxie will satisfy! We can't wait to come back and try more of their menu! They're open late too if you have some late night cravings (they close at midnight Thurs, Fri & Sat). There's street parking or you can park at the garage of the Saban Media Center.

The Line Told Me Everything I Needed to Know…read more Stumbled upon this spot after nearby Japanese BBQ, and what immediately caught my attention was the line -- probably around 20 people deep. Naturally, I asked a random customer what all the hype was about, and they told me this place was famous for their croissant pastries. Well... next thing you know, I'm standing in line too after a very full lunch. I ended up trying the Chocolate Almond Croissant for $6.50, and let me tell you something -- I am a HUGE croissant girlie. While I'm not normally the biggest chocolate person, Spain and Portugal recently changed my perspective on dark chocolate, and apparently now I'm in my dark chocolate era. And honestly? This croissant was BETTER than the super popular pastry we had in Barcelona, Spain. The chocolate wasn't overpowering at all -- it had the perfect amount of dark sweetness without being too rich. But the real surprise was the almond filling layered at the bottom. Oh my gosh... chef's kiss. Nutty, creamy, not overly sweet, and perfectly balanced. Chocolate Almond Croissant -- 9.2/10 I can only imagine how life-changing this would taste fresh out of the oven piping hot. Service was fast despite the line moving constantly, but just know there's no indoor seating. It's very much an order, pick up, and go type of spot. Ambiance was welcoming and super friendly gals. Definitely a must-try, and I'll absolutely remember to stop by again anytime I'm in Burbank. Happy eats!!

Those were probably our favorite. The flavor of the almond croissant wasn't overpowering but wished it was a bit crispier. I feel like I have had better ones elsewhere but if you are in the area definitely worth a try!

We've been doing that for a few years now, so that should tell you something right there. Our order is fairly consistent: we each start with a mimosa that comes in a highball glass, so one is usually all we need. Next, we share an order of kimchi biscuits (you get two). So delicious! Packed full of kimchi, bacon and cheddar cheese, it's a nice combo of flavors that play well together. The interior is usually soft and warm, with a nice crunchy crust. Top that with a smatter of the cinnamon butter that it comes with...yum! Our choice of entree varies, anything from avocado toast, to their kale and seaweed salad or any of their other selections they have from their brunch/lunch menu. On this outing, my friend and I both opted for the bibimbap. I opted for the pork bulgogi while my friend got the chicken version. It comes with a generous amount of carrots, zucchini, shiitake mushrooms and bean sprouts, and is topped with a runny, sunny side up egg that serves as an excellent sauce when you mix everything together, along with the gochujang sauce. We upgraded and got it with brown rice in the hot stone bowl. Worth it! The regular bibimbap is good, but when you mix in the crunchy crust that comes from the bottom of the stone bowl, you get an additional texture that makes the dish really stand out. The flavors already come together nicely, and the crunchy bits just enhance the experience. For dessert, we like to share the "lemon pie", which is actually a scoop of lemon gelato that comes in a glass that also includes graham crackers, topped with toasted marshmallows. A nice way to end the meal. And the staff! We usually either have Justin or Ann as our server, but everyone there is super friendly and helpful. They are consistently good at checking up on you and making sure you have everything you need. Just another 5 star reason of why we keep coming back!

I am recovering from a leg injury, and really wanted the great kale quinoa salad. Since walking is quite difficult at the moment, I decided to place a delivery order. It took a while, but the salad was finally delivered, but when I opened the package I was surprised by the look of the salad. It seemed to have a topping of bread crumbs, but upon inspection I saw that it was a small little dump of quinoa. Hmmm, usually there are lovely shavings of Parmesan, but nope. There was a smidge of Parmesan, not the usual amount. But the real failure was the missing sunflower seeds! Whaaaat???!!! I paid $27 for a bunch of kale and lettuce with a couple tbs of quinoa and a few Parmesan shavings?! I called just to see how they would handle the situation. First I was hung up on, before speaking. Then I was put through to catering though I pushed #6, the general number choice. I was then transferred to someone else (not sure which dept) and I explained about the missing sunflower seeds. After checking with the kitchen he confirmed that yep, they ran out of sunflower seeds. He said I could get $.50 refund, and he would transfer me to another number. The phone rang for several minutes but no one picked up. My painkiller turned me into a total "Karen", because I expected so much more from a favorite place. Oh, well, there are other places. Though that kale quinoa salad is really good when it works. Just don't trust their delivery.
