    Spicy Tuna Poke Bowl
    Eric P.

The street parking is a little challenging. It was busy but we got lucky and found a spot right in front. Stopped by and would not have known it was a poke spot. Totally thought it was a sweet store with the name. Good thing we walked in! I didnt realize it until after but its a vegetarian/vegan spot. The staff was extremely friendly! And the place was very clean and maintained. A bit pricey. And they do not accept cash. Actually seemed like they prefer it to be cashless. Not a fan of that. So I tried the Spicy Tuna Poke bowl. It was different for sure. I ordered white rice but it had green tint to it? I didnt get to ask what type of rice it was cause I had my order to go. It was ok. Not my type of poke bowl. But I also don't really eat at vegetarian spots. Glad I tried it though. Thank you!

Superfood Bowl (try to locate the tuna!)

Sweetfin labels themselves as chef-inspired poke bowls with premium ingredients and bold flavours. Unfortunately, this is far from it. Having spent $93.40, the quality of the yellowfin tuna is hardly high quality and the quantity of fish was about 1/3 the amount of regular poke places. Items ordered were the Classic Tura, Superfood Bowl, Spicy Tuna Bowl, Keto Bowl, and two different BYOB burrito - all barely had any flavour...can we say bland? Also, the bowls and burritos were filled with primarily the base ingredients (rice/cauliflower rice), sweet potatoes, kale and bean sprouts (depending upon the bowl selected). These items are not only inexpensive but fills up the bowl. If you call it a poke bowl, at least 50 percent of the bowl should be filled with poke and not filler. Otherwise, it would be called a rice bowl with poke! Street parking is difficult in this Burbank location and I was greeted with a hostile attitude even though I spent nearly $100.00. Both food and service is lacklustre.

I got most beautiful poke bowl I've ever seen -- truly a work of art. They also had some really unique bases and toppings I've never seen before too. Another nice thing about this place is that they are right next to a place that serves matcha drinks. A poke bowl + a matcha latte? That's some good stuff.

~ TRY MISS REMI'S BOWL!!! ~ (ends January) I've ate this for a week straight. Remi's bowl is soo good!! It has truffle spicy mayo! It has crispy noodles on top! It has wasabi furikake! Just trust me. They have seating inside and out. The service is super fast and you can get $5 off ordering on their website.

Loved everything about the Classic Tuna Poke Bowl I ordered! The black (forbidden) rice, yellowfin tuna, salmon, red onions, avocado, seaweed salad, bean sprouts, and pickled ginger were a great combination. I just added a banana chili pepper and it tasted fresh and delicious! There was an online promotion today so the bowl was $12.18 instead of $20.30 (without taxes). I thought the portion would be on the smaller side but it was not the case at all. I am full, satisfied, and would order again!!

Sweetfin is hands down my favorite poke spot. It's not like traditional Hawaiian poke you'd get at a fish market, but that wasn't what I was looking for anyway. I went with my family, and we tried a bunch of different options--everything was a hit. Compared to other poke chains, Sweetfin stands out with higher-end, more unique ingredients like forbidden rice and daikon sprouts. We tried a few bowls and also ordered two sweetboxes, but honestly, we should've skipped the sweetboxes. You get way more fish with the bowls. Our favorites were the spicy tuna and the yuzu salmon--both were super flavorful. We also tried the matcha tea, but it was just okay and nothing special. Overall, great quality ingredients, fresh flavors, and definitely worth coming back for more!

I've eaten Sweetfin dozens of times when the office brings it in. Their poke bowls are always reliable and tasty, albeit a bit expensive for the size. I've been craving a sushi burrito ever since our standby Raku Teriyaki closed down, so I tried their poke burrito with salmon and forbidden rice. The gluten free tortilla was pretty good (although I prefer the soy paper of sushi) and everything tasted fresh. I just think it could have a little more fish? There was a lot of other filler (which was still good), I just wanted a little more. I will still get it again though. Love spicy cucumber salads. This one had a great crunchy topping. It could have used a little more heat? All in all an easy take out choice!

Ordered a kids bowl to try this spot for the first time online. Very disappointed order didn't have any sauces that was put in the request, amount of fish was about 6 pieces shown in photo. Photo is how the order looked after opening

I'm so glad there was a healthy option nearby my hotel. Sweetfin offers fresh, healthy, and delicious poke bowls. They're generous with their portions and there are lots of mix-in, toppings, and dressings to choose from. Mango and edamame is so good! The only drawback was their ordering system. There's one only ginormous kiosk and the problem I'm finding with these systems is that their UI is a bit confusing, you can't keep track of what you did/didn't add to your bowl and when you need help, employees aren't even in the room. I totally missed ordering a drink! I'll come back and hopefully get a drink on my order!

Today is Wednesday 6/5/24 and the gentleman...yes...I said gentleman who worked today at 12:15pm was very KIND and Helpful!! And greeted me. So 5 stars for him!! Food here has always been 5 stars.

    Plastic in my food :(
    Stephanie S.

I order from you guys all the time.. And the quality of bowls have been pretty bad lately. I always order the same thing, but the bowls have been coming more and more different. One time my bowl was entirely black because they over dressed it with sauce... this time there's wayyy to much salmon. I paid for extra but not for an entire fish.... And on top of that, today.... I get my food and slice my mouth open because there's a piece of broken plastic in my food It sucks, I really liked this place.

Making a reservation was very easy, and everything went smoothly from start to finish. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted right away and seated promptly. The ambiance was warm and inviting. The restaurant is a bit dimly lit, but it really adds to the cozy and upscale atmosphere. One thing I immediately noticed was how clean all of the grills were. We chose the AYCE option (around $55 per person), and the pricing for kids was very reasonable. Our 5-year-old was charged a reduced rate, while our 3-year-old ate free, which was a nice bonus for families. The selection of meats was excellent, with plenty of options to choose from. They do have a 90-minute dining limit and a surcharge for excessive leftovers, but that wasn't an issue for us because everything was delicious. The appetizer selection was surprisingly large. We enjoyed the beef fried rice, noodles, a sushi roll, crispy tofu, chicken karaage, and shiitake mushrooms. The crispy tofu turned out to be spicier than we expected, so just keep that in mind if ordering for kids. However, spice lovers will probably enjoy it! The chicken karaage was a huge hit with the kids, especially with the spicy mayo on the side. The shiitake mushrooms were also incredibly flavorful and well-seasoned. We also ordered crispy rice spicy tuna, we loved it too! What really stood out was the service. Every server we encountered was kind, attentive, and genuinely friendly. Instead of simply dropping off food and walking away, they took time to check in, ask how we were doing, and connect with us. That personal touch made the experience feel special. We only ordered water since we had already had plenty of drinks earlier in the day, but they offer a variety of beverages as well. For dessert, we tried the mochi ice cream special--two for $5--which was a fantastic deal. In San Diego, it's common to pay around $5 for just one mochi ice cream, so we were pleasantly surprised. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and are so happy we chose Oku-Niku for my birthday celebration. Great food, excellent service, a family-friendly atmosphere, and a memorable dining experience. We'll definitely be back!

However, it seems prices are not so high anymore, so we went. Sadly, the food disappointed for the most part. One problem is the parking situation. It is nearly impossible to find a spot anywhere near the restaurant, and the fact there are numerous other dining spots on the block only makes things even harder. When we got there we had a friendly attentive server. However, he switched shifts with another server moments after we ordered. That led to many problems. The waitress who took over was almost never in the dining room. Dishes we ordered were sent to a different table. A Shirley Temple drink was ordered and it took nearly 30 minutes to be made. This is ginger ale and grenadine. Except, it wasn't even ginger ale, because they don't have ginger ale. It was Sprite! Oy! As far as the food, one big problem were the awful dipping sauces. I don't think I've had a problem with the dipping sauce at many if any other Asian bbqs in the past. However, the missus hated the soy or ponzu based sauce and wouldn't eat it. I used it, but it was not good. The meats were totally decent quality. The problem is their marinade isn't a soy based yakinaku type sauce like most Japanese BBQs. It was Japanese barbecue sauce and it tasted like barbecue sauce. Not a great flavor. The prime beef fried rice, gyoza, garlic noodles were the better dishes, though none particularly impressed. The cucumbers were soaked in ponzu sauce rather than pickled like sunomono or in a spicy sauce like cucumber kimchi. It was unmemorable. The chicken karaage was edible but unexciting. The spicy tuna on crispy rice was good, but they went soggy very quickly, which made any except the first one or two eaten not very enjoyable. The crispy garlic jalapeno chicken wings were god awful and inedible as far as I'm concerned. I'm sad the place wasn't better. I wanted a place to go that hopefully was somewhat cheaper than Manpuku - the best Japanese BBQ in LA. However, I wouldn't return for any of this food, and I can't recommend it to anyone. Avoid or try at your own risk.
