One of the better pollo loco locations in my area. Felt pretty clean inside and the food came out reasonably quick. We had the meal for 2, which was fairly priced and tasty. After we ordered, I saw their new mango habanero sauce and I immediately put it on my list for next time...solid food overall. Stopped here today for a quick lunch, been to this location many times, it's very convenient. Nice large parking lot easy to get to. I had a great experience here today Blanca one of the employees was so sweet. It was busy, but she was taking care of everyone and very friendly to all. Thank you very much. Go to various El Pollo Loco's as I'm traveling around I really like to use their app you get to earn points as well as there's digital deals that you can use that are less expensive than ordering it at the store. My go to typically has been the three tacos Al Carbone on the app you get three tacos chips and a drink for $5.99. Excellent deal just enough food and tastes delicious. Another benefit of using the app is you can order prior to getting there and your food will be ready rather than having to wait in a line if the location is busy like this one is. This is an older El Pollo Loco location, but it is very clean and plenty of room inside, they have patio to eat outside. They wrap the tacos in foil like you would get on a taco truck versus having it in a plastic tray, which I like having them in the foil better anyway, fits the old-school vibe this location has. I've eaten at this location early every saturday or sunday for the past 5 years. It's been fairly consistent and good. I swapped over from the 4 piece chicken w/ broccoli to getting the chicken tacos el carbon for monetary reasons. CTeC are one of the only reasonably priced items left on ... any fast food menu. 3 for 6 dollars is acceptable. What i got today was ... at least 3 day old chicken. There is no way that was even made in the past few days. Every bite has that ... old ... gross ... throw me out, I'm bad .. flavor. I happened to get 2 x 3tacos to make dinner a bit easier. They all have the same taste. I can't even eat them. 12 dollars down the drain. Now I have to go out and get something for dinner. Thanks. I get that you used yesterdays chicken for these tacos because capitalism. That makes perfect sense. And I've never had a problem. But there is something VERY seriously wrong going on here. This chicken should not be served in any form at this point. It's not moldy or green, but it tastes VERY OLD. Owners should try tasting the food they're serving from time to time. This location is 11 miles away from where I live but I wanted to experience a different location. There is no drive-thru here so I went inside. Upon entering you will notice two kiosks; that's where you place your order( not a fan) even more when I couldn't find my item on the screen. It was busy evening and I could tell the workers avoided the long line growing some people just prefer to order the old way; directly through a cashier but it took me a little to get someone's attention to finally place my order through them. So fyi you can't find the chicken tortilla soup on the kiosk. Other than that, my soup made it home hot and I received the side toppings except the cilantro and cheese given to me was already soggy and old. Unelievable trainwreck. I came here at 8:30p and I should have just turned and walked out because the lobby was a mosh pit of people waiting for food. I tried anyway. I ordered at the kiosk, just a burrito. I waited 15 minutes before asking what in the world was going on. The lady asked my order, I told her, "Oh, you took it." Nope, I showed her my receipt. Some guy said that someone else walked up and took it, then left, and nobody checked. What a waste of time. Then, I flagged down the manager to cancel my order, which took another five minutes. So tired of not getting my creamy cilantro dressing! Regardless if it comes with the order or if I order and pay for extra. The other day I went to the one on 1st street in Burbank paid extra dressing at the window and they didn't give it to me, then I went to one in Woodland Hills on my way to work at 9:30 ordered a salad, went to eat it on my lunch and no dressing. Today I ordered from the one on Alameda in Burbank, my daughter picked up the order and when my husband came for lunch.... Take a wild guess... no dressing. And these are just recently. Something has gone terribly wrong. Computer monitors have replaced people at the check out. The back-up and confusion saw several customers leaving without ordering. I feel bad for the employees trying to keep things moving but they are completely overwhelmed. My $11 burrito was kinda terrible, how do you mess up a burrito?!! Here today at 12:14 and it was mild busy. Sadly the usual very nice smiley woman was NOT on the counter. It was Joseph who was in a bad mood. Dude, you make at least $20 an hour yet you feel the need to put out a TIP CUP at your register. It's offensive to the customers. Maybe if you got tips you could wear a clean uniform and a cap that's not covered with awful white crap. The food was good until I saw these ants crawling about on the boarder of the inside of this restaurant. YUCK! Who knows what the kitchen looks like if the dining area looks like this. This particular El Pollo Loco is located at 521 N. 1st Street in Burbank, CA. Although my review is directed specifically to this location, this level of poor service and food preparation is consistent with most El Pollo Loco locations in California. Upon entering, there is an overpowering smell of raw sewage inside the entire restaurant. A smell consistent with numerous locations. I approached the counter where both employees in the attached videos saw. For close to 10 minutes I stood there without even being acknowledged. I could not use the kiosk because of what I was ordering and I wanted to apply my $10.00 birthday coupon. I finally said something and was met by the one speaking with rudeness. Thes restaurants which are primarily staffed with Hispanic people have become notorious for being racist, ignorant and highly unprofessional people. I decided to video the two individuals, as well as the filthy condition of the food prep area in front and back. The chicken back on the grill appeared to have been sitting there for hours with nothing cooking. It's time to boycott El Pollo Loco. The food and service are disgustingly poor. read more

Blanca isn't only an excellent employee here but goes out of her way to be sure your order is right. I have always been greeted with a smile and true customer service. She is a HUGE asset to this location. Furthermore, the location has always been kept clean and haven't seen a dirty table thus far. Lastly, the chicken here has never been dry. Quite the opposite. We order takeout at least 3x or more per month at this location. Why? because an employee name Fatima really makes this location to shine. I have witness how some customers have been rude to her at times, even racial profile because of her physical appearance (non Hispanic background). The customer assume her "physical appearance" looks Hispanic; therefore, knows how to speak Spanish. When, she tells them politely does not speak Spanish some Hispanic customers are the most rudest and unpleasant ones. This lady knows how to handle everything situation with so much diplomacy, poised, and collective. Management, you have an amazing employee, that handles every situation the food complaints, the customer attitudes or anything that comes her way with courtesy and respectful every single time.
