    Kimchi Tofu Soup
    Shan C.

Parking is in the back. I've passed by this place many times on AZ Ave, finally got to try it out. It's very cozy inside, kind of like a tavern. I got the tofu kimchi soup. It was good! Paired well with the rice. It leans salty (FYI for your preference). The side dishes were really good. We ate everything. Service is very efficient.

We ordered two soups, a kimchi pancake and galbi. The LA galbi was good, not burned and not too salty. I loved their kimchi pancake, it was crispy and full of kimchi flavor, definitely will get this again. The galbi tang was my favorite, the soup wasn't too salty, and the amount of protein was so generous, and came with egg, so good. My husband ordered beef tripe, flat meat and tendon soup, I don't eat those so only tried the soup, it was good too, but I prefereed mine. Their ban chan was good but not too special. Overall, food was decent, and reasonable price.

I wanted some Korean food and we were some what close so decided to come here. I believe I came here many years ago but not 100%. Ordered yukgaejang, Seoul leong tang, and spicy pork bulgogi.. Well, my mom said this place is known for soup which I can agree. Both of the soup was yummy. Yukgaejang was nice and spicy and pretty decent amount of veggies and meat. Seoul leong tong was also pretty dang good. Nice harty broth. Side dishes were actually pretty darn good. Now for bulgogi was sub par. It wasn't bad but definitely not worth the money. This place was not quite 4 but closer to 4 then 3. Only other complain was that dishes price are on the high end.

This place is amazing! My husband and I love Korean food and we've been to places all over the valley. This one is our favorite. It's truly home cooked authentic Korean food. Best sides we've ever had. We are so lucky the owner and her Mom moved here and opened up Chodang! We've been here twice so far and we expect to come back often. It's the first time we ate every single morsel of every side!! Love it here. Try this place!!

Amazing beef soup! Never disappoints. We come here regularly and fell in love. The kids and the whole family enjoy eating here. Great service and you can get refills on the side dishes and it's clean.

Have been coming here for years and it is as great as ever. There seems to have been a misunderstanding that this place has moved but it has not

My FAVORITE authentic Korean restaurant! It's family owned and truly a local gem. I haven't had one thing that's bad here. I can't wait to return!

I would like to preface this review by saying I am of Korean descent and originally from NYC which translates to the fact that I have had a lot of good Korean food. I can confidently say I have tried almost all of the Korean restaurants in the East Valley and Scottsdale areas and Chodang is by far the BEST! There may have been some misinformation that this location was closed but they are OPEN. The food is always consistently delicious and the owner is so welcoming each time my family and I go including when we went yesterday. When you're craving some authentic Korean food, check out this place. You'll be glad you did!

What a hidden gem in Chandler!! The outside looks very unsuspecting and is nothing fancy, but once you step inside you'll know you're going to get some good Korean food. The owners were so friendly and fun to chat with. They moved from Seattle and started this restaurant 2ish years ago; and the mom makes everything from scratch!! I've always wanted to try neng myun and this was the perfect 110-degree day in AZ to do that! I brought a friend that had never had Korean food and we were both amazed at how good everything was. The neng myun was so flavorful, refreshing, and filling! The bibim neng myun had the perfect spice level for me (mild). All the banchan was fantastic. This is a Korean place you HAVE to try while you're in the area!! I will definitely be back to try more of the dishes when I'm in town!!

I'm not just a foodie, I'm a tofu-die Oof, I hate updating a review but with new owners comes new flavors and these new flavors ain't it for me. I came for some mandoo soon dubu and a kimchijeon. Once the place for my favorite soon dubu, but now? Not so much. I'm use to the soup coming to the table boiling violently with a temperature similar to the surface of the sun. Not this time. I could probably have soon dubu every day and not be bored but not if it's from Chodang. While not entirely unsatisfying, I would rather spend my money elsewhere to have a gooey egg and for it to be brought to the table looking like a small witch's cauldron full of simmering egg and soft tofu. As for the kimchijeon, it was decent, albeit a bit greasy. My family enjoys this place so I'll probably be back but if it's my choice, I'd rather go to some of the other local spots around town for soup. Bonnie is super cool though so tip well!

    Seollang-tang soup- comfort food!

This is beyond the best seollang-tang and rivals any k-town place in LA. So so good every time we eat here! Yes this place is open and ready to serve with the best fresh banchan (side dishes). I drive over an hour to eat here because it's that good! I have tried all their other dishes and DEE - licious! My daughter loves it here and every chance she gets wants to tag along with my wife to eat here! Good to the last drop!

Seafood soon tofu and bulgogi lunch special, and the #9 soup

We love Chodang! It's been our go to Korean spot for years. We got the soon tofu and bulgogi lunch special and the #9 soup. Food is delicious as always. It's still the same owners here! Come support local business :)

Bb.q Korean Fried Chicken in Chandler and Mesa are the best fried chicken places in AZ! All the flavors are delicious and unique. The other food is also great there....except maybe the rice could be more sticky instead of dry. I've had everything on the menu. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the chicken flavors. One thing I'll say for those first timers is that if you want sauce, then get one of the flavors that have sauce because there isn't any dipping sauce for the spicy original or original. Those are meant not to have any sauce on them. The fried chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Again, if you're new to the place, you really cannot go wrong with any of the flavors. The place is kept clean, including the bathroom. The staff is nice and I like that they check on you and help when needed. A lot of other restaurants usually don't care after you've paid, so I think it's great that Bb.q Chicken cares. The only negative I have is that when you dine in, the restaurant is kind of warm/hot depending on the time of day you go, which makes dining in uncomfortable. I wish they would turn down the air conditioning. Happy they opened locations in AZ!

Korean BBQ is all about timing, attentiveness, and energy -- and he mastered all three. He was incredibly attentive without hovering. Our table was never cluttered, drinks were always refilled before we even had to think about it, and the meat rotations were perfectly timed. At a place like Gen where the pace can make or break the experience, he kept everything flowing smoothly. What impressed us most was his professionalism and attitude. He was knowledgeable about the menu, quick with recommendations, and confident in explaining different cuts and options. He made sure we understood how everything worked and checked in consistently to ensure we had exactly what we needed. But beyond just doing his job, he had that rare quality of genuine service. Friendly, respectful, efficient, and personable. You can tell he takes pride in representing the restaurant. He made us feel like valued guests, not just another table in a busy dining room.
