Super nice people with excellent chocolate. A bit pricey although it is small batch artisan chocolate and worth it. Yes its that good.

So I've been a here a few times now and have tried several different things. My favorite so far is the smore's. It's a generous amount of dark chocolate coating with cinnamon gram crackers sandwiching a thick fluffy marshmallow. Totally divine. The quality of dark chocolate they is very good and on the truffles has a great snap. My only wish is some of the truffle flavors are very subtle. I'll sometimes buy a couple of pieces and forget which shape is what flavor. So when I eat them I can't really tell what flavor I'm eating, but still very enjoyable. My favorite flavors are salted caramel, haupia, and Guinness. Another plus is all the workers are so friendly. read more

I love the chocolate here and the warm feeling I get when shopping in this store. I don't care too much for the "expensive" chocolate from See's Candy, Ethel M's, Fannie Maes, etc... I prefer Mounds and Hersheys. So, I was surprised that I absolutely love the chocolate here. It's such a cute store with a homey feel, with warm people that treat you like family. We walk in and they address hubs by name and focus all attention on him until he is done in his selection. We never feel rushed and they take the time to package the selection in a beautiful presentation. One sample that really pleasantly surprised me was the chocolate macadamia nuts. It isn't as visually appealing as the other candies in their shop but it is the best chocolate covered macadamia nuts I have ever eaten. It tasted like perfectly seasoned macadamias accented by delicious smooth chocolate. The dark chocolate is so smooth and rich in flavor, it is the best I ever had. Every chocolate I tried here was so yummy. The only downside is that I don't remember what we purchased, so when I ate this one flavor that was so heavenly... I was so sad because I can't figure out what flavor it was :( . I decided from now on, I will take a picture and notate what was purchased. I received above and beyond service here. I walked over the other night because I have seen crowds around this place! I was looking at the hours outside (they were already closed) and the owner walked outside and not only told me their hours but brought me inside to sample all of the delicious chocolates they had! My girlfriend was in the car and thought I was being kidnapped because all of their lights were already off and everything was closed up haha! I ended up buying a bunch of different treats and this is honestly the best chocolate I've ever had in my life. I've been to a couple of Choco Le'a's tastings and they never disappoint. Their chocolates are all handmade using the finest ingredients. They are a family owned business with a great back story and mission. Some of my favorites are: - Macadamia - Fresh Raspberry - Salted Caramel - Mochi - PB & J They have a lot more awesome flavors that I have yet to try but sound amazing! Don't let the prices fool you. It may seen a lot to some but they are well worth it. They also do chocolate bars for special events such as weddings and parties. They will also be opening up a store front in the near future in Manoa. I'm definitely looking forward to that. ***Quick Tip*** They can accommodate to different types of ideas so if you have a certain type of chocolate that you want, they are more than happy to experiment. Visited Choco Le'a on Friday July 3 and was extremely delighted. I will warn folks who are looking to try the European Sipping Chocolate -- go on a Saturday -or- call first to see if its being served because they generally only serve on Fridays. We lucked out that were serving it on a Friday since it was a 3 day holiday weekend. Its divine -- not too sweet, not at all rancid -- just right ah! Really creamy and not too thick or thin. Items for sale include the truffles to which many are liquor filled and right up our alley. Really highly recommend the Guiness, Yamazaki, and Yuku Sake. There are non alcohol filled truffles as well. In addition to truffles there are chocolate dipped Oreos of all assortments and chocolate dipped fruits -- the jabong is really really tasty. Most of the unwrapped and wrapped products appear to be a darker European chocolate, I do recall a few wrapped items said White Chocolate. My family and I were greeted and assisted by Debra who is knowledgeable, warm, and friendly. She's a real asset to the place. We purchased 9 truffles (plus several packages of the jabong for us and for friends and family), I really could have gone for the 20 piece but we had somewhere to be on this summer day and didn't want the goodies to melt. Debra allowed my son to decorate the truffle box and he was so pleased to sit in the quaint window sill and draw. So great for kids! Mmmmm! A friend shared a truffle with me and I was hooked! When I got home, I looked at the website and was happy to find that they use the finest ingredients. Fresh, organic, and preservative free! And they're made right here in Hawaii! The peanut butter and jelly truffle is my favorite so far, but everything I've tried has been good, so I'm sure you can't go wrong. Choco lea is a special treat for me. I come here when I want to spoil myself a little. Everytime I come I try something new so the only thing I would honestly say is a favorite Must Have for me is the chocolate dipped mangoes, they are thick and juicy with just the right amount of chocolate. I grab a bag every time I come here! Today we are trying the Birthday Cake truffle (free because my birthday is in October!) Salted Caramel, Kona Coffee and the new Whiskey truffle. They are between 2.35 and 2.94 a pc.or you can buy a 9pc box for 21.99- they also have 2 pc boxes for 4.99 which I often buy as gifts. Today we are buying a 2 pc box for bosses day with one of the whiskey truffles and one peanut butter and guava jelly truffle. They also sell a European sipping chocolate in a small espresso cup with potato chips. This is our first time trying it and it is very decadent. The chocolate is very thick and rich and the salty potato chips are a good compliment. They have 2 small tables outside where you can sit and sip and enjoy the view of Manoa. The chocolates are exquisite...and priced accordingly. Most have subtle flavor and dark chocolate is I'd guess about 60 percent, so not bitter and also thankfully not cloying sweet. Only items to stay away from are the chocolate dipped fruits sold in bags. The pineapple is an entire round slice and impossible to eat neatly. Those should be cut into manageable pieces prior to dipping, but even so, it's way too sweet! Jabon is like shoe leather. Mango not bad but the neon orange color isn't desirable. So stick w the truffles and ganache pieces. Oh, and mac nuts are good too. read more

This is one of those shops I can only come to on payday or other special occasions because of the price, but for the quality of the product you get, an infrequent indulgence is okay, right? I have only yet to try a handful of the flavors including lilikoi, vanilla, matcha, red velvet, Kona coffee, lavender and honey, ginger, and guava and pink peppercorn. I really want to try the lychee, but the last time I went, there wasn't any. I was a little disappointed with the lavender flavor. It wasn't prominent enough for me on the day that I tried it. Their new special flavor, the guava pink peppercorn has an interesting and complex taste. The berry notes from the peppercorns really come out and last for a long time; it balances well with the guava. The quality of the chocolate is one of the things that make the cost here bearable. It's well tempered, glossy, and snaps when you bite into it. I like that they use dark so nothing is overly sweet. read more

I came here after seeing the owners testimony about this place and having a sample of her chocolate. Her chocolate is hands down the best chocolate ive ever tasted. Her chocolate tokens alone are better than godiva, and better than royce. I went to their store in manoa and got 2 boxes of their truffles (one of each flavor) &had a tasting w my family and we all agreed. Best chocolate ever. They are a little pricey but they make up for it in the quality of their product. I looked them up on yelp and was looking forward to their mochi, liquer, &li hing truffles but the cashier said they change their menu a lot and they didnt have them that week so i will definitely be coming back for more. read more

I have now had the pleasure of dealing with Erin twice and both times I have been completely amazed with the outcome. Both times have been last minute, special requests, and Erin and her staff have been able to deliver perfect results, all the while keeping a friendly smile and attitude despite the short notice and difficulty I have given them. There's something here for everyone. Whether you like really sweet chocolates or tend to sway more towards the darker more bitter variety they can do it all. The chocolates were very nice but very pricey. Their traditional flavored truffles were excellent but their special ones like the bananas foster were overpowering and ultimately inedible. As long as you stay with the regular chocolate truffles, you'll be very satisfied. Other flavors like mint and PB&J were acceptable. The outer dark chocolates were very delicious and have a nice break and mouth feeling. Overall I would still recommend. read more

Wow! These chocolates are heaven sent! Since it was my sister and my first time here, we decided to get a small box of 9 pieces of chocolate. The pieces we chose were, coconut, maple praline, mini Oreo, cookies & cream, vanilla bean, matcha, mochi crunch, carmel and sea salt, and kona coffee. I have to say they were all so good! The only one that didn't really satisfy us was the coconut. I think we were expecting some coconut flakes but this was more like a coconut cream. Still, very good but just not one I'd prefer. This dark chocolate has to be the best on the island. It's so lite and smooth and doesn't leave any bitter flavor in your mouth. It also doesn't make you feel super full or overloaded on chocolate. My sister and I tried to save some pieces for our parents but they were just to irresistible. We devoured all nine pieces and it was delicious! Now at home we're still dreaming of the day we'll be back to try some more chocolates at this amazing place! These chocolates are worth trying and I promise you won't be let down. read more

Service was impeccable. They did a great job explaining their business to us and pointed out their products around the store. They also gave us a sample to try as we were browsing. Although the chocolates are small and delicate, having only one was still overwhelmingly satisfying. We had a box of See's chocolates (great as well) and Choco le'a chocolates at the same time and you can tell that Choco le'a had an edge over See's with the quality of chocolate it was made with. However, I am still a fan of both! ;) These chocolates would be great as a gift, and come beautifully packaged. They are somewhat pricey, but you are definitely getting quality over quantity. Decided to check this place out after reading all the fabulous Yelp reviews! & I was not disappointed! It's a super cute small little chocolate shop right in Manoa! I found my new favorite place for chocolate truffles! My mom is a big fan of dark chocolate truffles, so I bought her some, & she is hooked, she absolutely loved them! I was lucky enough to go on a Saturday, so I got to try the sipping chocolate, it is so rich & decedent, just simply delicious!! The truffles are a bit pricy, but you pay for what you get, & these truffles are just perfection, so I don't mind paying for them at all! I will say though, you should go early, as the sell out pretty fast, so go right when they open to score all the flavors you want!! The mini Oreo truffle is my favorite! It's been awhile since we been but I just wrote reviews on Kay's and Fendu so here's another small business in Manoa to support. We met the owner and she reminds you of your smarter nicer sister your parents nag on you why can't you be more like her or someone you went to high school with that would have been class president. Yeah so what am I trying to say? Owner is real nice. It's a small business run by a nice local family that make the chocolates taste better. Even if they weren't nice, chocolate is real good. You can taste the quality and we like they have flavors for us locals like lychee, li hing and gau for new year's. I think that was our first time trying them was my wife saying we needed to get the gau chocolates for a gift for new year's for her parents. Maybe not the chocolates we can get all the time because of our budget but for special gifts like birthdays or mother's day this is the spot. I like the yuzu and matcha, my wife likes the strawberry and cream, lychee, coffee, birthday cake (so basically everything and she made me list them).
