I was almost run off the freeway today by one of their employees driving a brown Toyota Tundra. He was driving with such aggression he almost caused a multi-car pile-up in exiting the freeway illegally. I would have call the local PD had the trailer he was pulling had a license plate on it. Shame on any business who does not make safety an absolute priority in all they do. What a shame to see several bad reviews due to poor driving Habits by their employees. read more

We purchased our countertops through Ikea, IN FEBRUARY, and unfortunately got stuck with Chivino. The man who came out to measure was so nice and really new what he was doing. However, they do not have the quartz we ordered in stock. We were told there would be a delivery truck on Thursday, but according to a different employee the truck wasn't scheduled to come until the following Monday. So either they lied or are not informed. They also said they can't guarantee that our stone will be in the next order. We paid for our counters in February!! They never answer their phone and they do not call you back when they say they will. NEVER use them. I am sitting here paying for a home I can't use and they don't seem to care at all. read more

I have been reading these reviews and I see what people are talking about and only giving 1 star. I purchased my counter top through IKEA and Chivino is there outside contractor. I have sent e mails with no response. I need to get in touch with them because IKEA messed up on my kitchen sink design so I have to have it modified. Been trying to get a hold of Chivino for days. No answer to my email to Ms. Mendoza. Tried calling their phone is off the hook. Tried to email someone through their web site it does not work. Who knows what is going on. If Chivino's has shut down because it is a non nonessential business because of the pandemic they should update their website or have a message on their phone so people are kept updated. read more

We just got our countertops installed. We went thru Floor and Decor. The process was pretty painless for the most part. We had everything ready to go. Cabinets installed and plywood installed as well as the sink. I wanted a different sink than what they offer at floor and decor. They came and measured. Was very good and personable. Asked questions to make sure what was staying and how it was going to look. Went back to Floor and Decor after measurements went through. Picked the countertop style we wanted. Said it would be a about 2 weeks. And it was 2 weeks exactly. Came on time in the timeframe they said they were coming. The countertops were installed and they look wonderful. I was purchasing countertops through Home Depot. Turns out Chivino does the work for them. The person who does the scheduling had called right after I placed my order with Home Depot to schedule a template being done. It was for in a week and I wasn't going to be home. She nastily told me when I was available to give them a call as they schedule only 1 week out. I called last week and had left messages on 4 different days. The scheduler NEVER answers her phone, it always goes to voice mail. Today a different person called me back and when I asked something she said she was new and would have to ask. At that point the scheduler chimed into the conversation so she had been listening rather than calling me herself. She was condescending and unpleasant to talk to. Since I now knew their name I googled reviews of the company and they were terrible and the BBB rating is only C+. I have cancelled my order with Home Depot and will be going with a different company. I had hoped to have my new counters in shortly but now have to start the process all over again. read more

I used Chivino through Floor and Decor for quartz countertops throughout my home. Not a small order - $8K. No problem with the price but I had a problem after the installation that required that I have a small bathroom backsplash redone. Medicine cabinet interfered with the sink drain arm. So I had to remove it. They didn't have the material, so I had to look for it at a quartz boneyard. I did find a matching piece at TheYard 21st Ave and DV Rd. after about a month of looking, so I called Chivino to see if they could help getting it cut and polished for a reasonable price. I offered to deliver the slab and pick up the finished piece. They didn't want to deal with me, would not return my calls. They said they would get back with a price, they never did. They just blew me off, not just once, but several times. Customer service was the poorest I've experienced in many, many years. They were not concerned that I was a happy customer at all or that my job was complete. What an F'd up company. Reading the other reviews, I can see that this is their pattern. read more

I used this company thru Floor and Decor. I had my new sink and had it available at the time my kitchen was measured. I advised the sink would be a drop in. I was working from home and available for any questions and the person measuring was professional and fast. The material was quoted to be 6-8 weeks before install. The customer service went down from here. At about the 6 week marker I called the company to see if the material had come in yet. There was a few calls back-and-forth leaving messages and I finally got a call saying that they were ready to install. The workers that installed the countertop were also very fast and efficient and the job itself is beautiful. However when I went to put the sink in it barely fit in. Meaning the hole that was cut was too big. The clips for the new sink barely touch on 3 sides In order to secure it down. And I am unable to secure the back of the sink because the hole is too big. It was difficult for me to c*** because there wasn't a lot of metal to Ito attach to the sink. The template for my new sync was provided in the Box. And when compared to the hole that they cut it was extremely too big. Contacted the company company and they said that it's precut at the facility and they normally do under mount sinks. I found that answer unacceptable And it's proving that there's no attention to detail . And I believe that would be the most important thing of having the sink available when they measure otherwise why would they require that. I have sent email correspondence and I've had no reply back on how they are going to fix the problem. There has been no offer to a fix, a refund, or offers to help me purchase a new sink that would fit the hole that they cut. Regardless of how beautiful the quartz material looks customer service gets 0. read more

Chivino took care of our countertops when another fabricated severely dropped the ball. I know I was a squeaky wheel with them but they were excellent about keeping in touch with me explaining any questions I had. The team they sent to my house to template (Doug, I believe) was on time, clearly knew his tasks, verified all his measurements on site, and answered my questions. Fabian, the installation crew chief, came out and did my install and his team did an excellent job. I'd highly recommend you request that he come out to do you install because he clearly gets it and takes pride in his work. By the time his crew left, our countertops were in place, the area had been swept up, and all their trash had been tossed. read more

We purchased cabinets. flooring and counter tops through Cabinets to Go in March. Cabinets came in one week from order day as promised. Flooring on the same shipment. My husband has already installed both. Granite counters were sub-contracted out to Chivino Surfaces. After two months (May) someone finally came out to measure. They do not schedule to the homeowners convenience. They schedule only to their convenience and give you a two hour window which they only confirm the day before. My husband had to take off work for the measurement. The guy who measured said it would be done with three seams. No way to do in less than three. He also said that installation would be at least three weeks out, possibly longer. By this time my husband was fed up with them. He called a guy that does work for one of his other clients. We called on a Saturday. They came on Monday evening at 6:00 to measure. We ordered. Installation was the following Sunday morning. Installation with only one seam. So eight days from first contact to installation. (and less money I might add) Chiviono needs to step up their game. We have no idea how they are still in business. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone. We have also shared our experience and displeasure with Cabinets to Go. Using Chivino makes them look bad as well. read more

Chivino Countertops is the best in the state. They do all the Lowes installs. Wayne is the master. He has done 6 houses for me over 10 years. The quality and price are better than all their competitors. I made a mistake with my oven on my last house which affected the backsplash and Wayne came out promptly. He fixed my mess up. NO CHARGE! They also have the best equipment in the valley when it comes to make custom countertop fabrications. No BS. They spend hundreds of thousands on their equipment. Nobody else in the valley has fabrication equipment that comes close to theirs. read more

If you are desperate and need countertops...do anything you can to avoid Chivino Surfaces. I called the company up on Monday, quite interested in spending money with them as they came recommended by a gentleman at Lowe's, spoke to the receptionist who advised me if I wanted to preview what they had at their boneyard to ensure I come to their office between 6am and 4pm M-F. Showed up Friday after around 3:20pm, receptionist promptly said, you're lucky you caught us here, normally we cut out early on Fridays. Mind you, this was not mentioned on the phone call I made. And then the receptionist advised that we could not see the boneyard because work was going on, and we had to come back another time. Not a single representative of the company came out to talk to us, see what we wanted and to try and help with our needs. We were blown off with very little care by them even though we were in their office looking to spend money. Maybe the desire to spend money with a company is not enough these days, or the fact we drove well out of our way to come do business with them. read more

I wish I could give this company a zero star rating. From the very first phone call for measurements the customer service was awful. They installed quartz countertops through our purchase at Lowes, when install was complete I immediately noticed several matte or dull marks on the countertop (which is a glossy finish) while installers were still there. Both installers noticed them too, tried to clean them to no improvement and marks were notated on paperwork. I was told someone would call me within 2 days and that it would be fixed. No phone call, only when Lowes got involved did they call me back. They had one of their employees come out to fix the problem. He showed up and scrubbed the dulled or matte marks with BarKeepers Friend...which took a 1 x 5 inch mark and made it a 4 x 8 big dull mark. He called the office because his recommendation was thst it needed to be buffed out, the office manager told him to clean entire area with BarKeepers Friend again....he agreed with me that it was making it worse and left telling me they woud be in touch. Again...NO phone call until Lowes got involved, then after many apologies by acct manager, I was told that the were submitting to manufacturer for warranty and it would take up to 3 weeks, but that someone would call me weekly to follow up (which I never asked for) and I was not surprised when no one called until about 3 weeks later asking me if the areas were rough to touch. I stated "not really" and she then said the manufacturer denied the claim and basically I was stuck with with brand new quartz countertops that we paid top dollar for that look like someone came through with sandpaper in several areas. Then I was told that due to the window reflexion it makes it more noticeable...as if It's my fault for having a large window highlighting the flaws on the product they accepted and installed. If I could have refused it when it was installed I would have, but that option was not there. The only option was to notate the invoice and I was trusting enough to believe them when they said they would fix it. Lowes came out and notated all the marks as well she said she did think it was rough to touch "like going from a glossy finish to a matte finish" and Lowes employee got them to resubmit to manufacturer. This company doesn't care about it's customers...I am very leary that anything will be done at this point. My options are to cover areas with knickknacks or put dark blinds up so it's not noticeable. We ordered through IKEA during their 15% off quartz sale. We paid at the time of sale, which is required, then told we'd be contacted by their fabricator with install details. Within 2 days I did get a call to set up the date for measurements. It did take several calls to get this appointment scheduled as I work traditional business hours and was usually sent straight to a voicemail when I tried to return calls to schedule. I was told when the man came out to measure that our island was too large for a single slab, but he said I could contact the office and get a layout of the seams prior to fabrication. I called and they confirmed that they'd get me a copy of the seam location prior to fabrication, but that I had no say regarding where they went. Essentially, sure we'll show you, but it doesn't matter what you think. I had also asked if our corner seam could be done at an angle, rather than a straight line, but was informed that they cannot do this. I then referred them to the file of a friend who ordered her counters through IKEA a few months prior and had them installed by Chivino Surfaces with pictures of her angled seams. They pulled the file and confirmed that apparently those seams could be done, but not for my situation. My choice of quartz did not show on its scheduled shipment to chivino surfaces and I was told that it would "hopefully" be on the following shipment and they'd notify me. I had to make three calls to them to determine if/when my quartz would be delivered. Once delivered, they did schedule install date within a few weeks. Be aware that this company does not accommodate weekend or evening availability (and maybe this is an industry standard), which will require at least two business days off for measurements and install. They give you your "window time" the day prior. We ordered our counters on January 18th and they were installed yesterday, February 28th....much longer than I had anticipated. Despite my initial frustrations, I will say that the counters do look nice now that they are installed. There are a few imperfections in the quartz and they are not perfectly aligned to the back of our wall, BUT for the price we paid, I am pretty happy with how they turned out. Essentially, you get what you pay for, and in the end, I'm pleasantly surprised with how it turned out. Just be aware it might be a longer process than you think! read more

I bought granite through Floor & Decor. They said they had a company they work with and they would set everything up for me. Chivino Surfaces is who they contracted with and they came out and took measurements. When the install crew came to install they scrapped up 2 walls, bent back the trim of the fireplace opening and chipped out 4 tiles in the opening of the fireplace. When I called both Chivino Surfaces and Floor and Decor I was told they weren't responsible and would do nothing to fix it. They said I had signed a report saying with Chivino Surfaces saying "Customer aware that some stone may need to be removed to complete installation. Chivino not responsible for replacing or reinstalling stone." What I signed didn't have that written on it and when they sent me the copy, which I was never given a copy of , my signature was above what was written as their disclaimer and was not on the paper when I signed it. I thought for sure Floor & Decor would stand behind their recommendation to do work and make it right, but they didn't. I had a 3rd party, tile and stone contractor come look at the fireplace and he said that the damage done to the trim and tile didn't need to and should have never happened. I will now have to pay him to fix the sloppy work that Chivino Surfaces did. I will never use Chivino Surfaces or Floor & Decor for any of my projects again. What bad business practices! read more

This company was hired to install new counter tops on our remodeled kitchen. We took the plans which came from the cabinet shop over to receive a quote. The owner, Jason took those plans, and from that gave us a quote of approximately 2000.00 for counter tops installed. We agreed and placed 50% down that day. This was in late February. The project was winding down, finally to the counter tops. We called and the measure/install person came out for a final measurement of the counter tops, and told us 1-3 weeks. Fine, excellent. Four days after the measure, we called to confirm the final dollar amount due on the job, and was told that the 2000.00 estimate stood, and that we would give the installation crew the balance due on the day of install. Chivino called about 1 week later and stated that the installation would be done on May 8, and everything was set and good. THEN on May 3 a woman named Sara called and asked us to remeasure the counter top because there was a discrepancy between what we had told them on the original meeting and what their measure indicated. I called her back, and she informed me that the information that my wife provided was misleading, and that the orginal estimate of 2000.00 was no longer valid. I explained to her that my wife never provided measurements, but rather the plot plan provided by the cabinet manufacturer and that the cabinets where installed based upon that plan with no changes. I acknowledged a small change to the width of the countertop; an increase of 2.25 Inches, and was prepared for the revised estimate. At that point she went into a technical discussion of slabs, now needing two instead of one, etc, etc, etc. All of this information is relative, but I'm not a counter top guy, so it is meaningless to me. She blamed us for the mistake and let me know that the counter tops could not be done on the 8th as confirmed previously, and that the price has now exceeded 3100.00. When I informed her that there was no way to for us to afford that, she immediately went to she was considering the job canceled and we could pick up a check for the deposit. When my wife showed up to pick up the check, she took the original packet with her. Jason met her and claimed no knowledge of the plans, and stated he had never seen them before. My wife pointed out to him his writing on the plans, and only then did he acknowledge his error, but offered no solution other than here is your deposit back. My family has been camping (living without a kitchen) since the beginning of February. We trusted this company to do what they are supposed to do: look at the plans, estimate based upon that and deliver on promises. They absolutely failed. Now we are looking at another six week delay because I have to start over with a new counter top company. I live in real life, and I understand that mistakes happen; these guys offered no solution and no apology- they tried to blame it on us. I am old enough to know that not every party can reach agreement, but Jason and his company didn't even offer to try to reach a option that would be acceptable to all of us. I am reviewing this matter with my family attorney, and will pursue it fully. I just wanted to warn other consumers about this companies handling of a mistake that was their responsibility. read more

I was disappointed in the customer service. I often had to call them several times before I would get a return call. When they came to install the counter didn't match the wall, luckily I planned to put up tile so it was no big deal. I was disappointed that they did nothing to buff the countertop before installing it instead leaving the manufacturer grade polish in place. I am told this is a standard practice but I have no way of knowing if that is true. The seam lines were chipped and since my countertop was a dark color they patched it with a black sealant that made the seam very noticeable. The island piece they put in looks wonderful but the thickness is different from the countertop next to the stove. Probably because they had to cut the island from another customers slab because the original layout had the grain opposite of the larger countertop. I insisted the grain go the same direction which they worked with me to fix. The two biggest issue I have is the salesman said that when I was ready to do the downstairs bathroom to match that he would get me a remnant price out of a leftover customers order. When it came time to do that they told me that they had a minimum price and that a 21" by 32" vanity top was going to cost me around a 1000 dollars. If I had known that I would have done the bathroom at the same time. Finally when it came time to install there was no quality control. The installers came and put the countertop in but nobody came to inspect the final install and I got no call back asking if I was happy with the job. I would not go with this company again. read more
