Totally overpriced. Made a purchase of almost $400 and returned 2 weeks later because I needed some more of the same material (steel squares tubing). I assumed that they would charge me the same but they wanted roughly 25% more. I passed and found a different metal supplier in Chandler which charged me $257,- instead of the $387 which AZ Metals quoted me. That's a difference of 50%. Total ripoff. read more

I had a wonderful experience here at AZ Metals last week. I had never been here before. I had a small home-owner metal project to work on. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. To my surprise, the owner was there, and he took the time to walk me around the shop and to show me what materials they carry and what the shop can do in cutting and fabricating. I've never been treated that well in a metal outlet in my whole life. They did a small cutting job for me -- a couple easy cuts for $10. That was a whole lot better, and more fair, than the $50 I had been quoted at the place in Phoenix where I had bought the metal...but had walked out, not accepting the ridiculous $50 price for less than four minutes of easy work. This shop was simply a great experience for me from beginning to end...wonderful place and wonderful people!!! I won't go anywhere else from now on. read more

We purchased a GE range hood with a vent package. With a 10' ceiling the GE vent cover came in 2 pieces and looked ugly when placed. We contacted AZ to see if they could make us a 1 piece stainless steel vent cover for us. They were incredible to deal with. I am still amazed at their great customer service and care in determining measurements and quality control. The completed and installed vent looks amazing and the cost was less than the GE 2 piece vent cover that is available. I highly recommend this company. well, i guess the party's over. Ive been going to AZ metals for a few years now because they were a great place to find small pieces of stock I used for my Hot Rod Project. They were/are really friendly folks that would perform simple breaks or punching holes in small pieces of Aluminum for me, i used these are clips to attach different accessories to the frame ect. They'd usually charge me ~ $20-$25 ...depends on the scope of work, no biggie. Last time i went in i just had a couple clips made for me (.063 Sheetmetal), and a few 3/16 holes for mounting bolts, 1- L shaped clip 2 holes, U shaped clip 3 holes , 1.25 inches width. I got the receipt, didnt have my glasses, just signed it...no biggie, figured it was another $20 's. Two days later, picked up the paper work.....my tongue hit the floor $58 !!!...lol. Well, i figured this was just a typo...maybe i just figured I owed them for favors in the past...whatever Just went in yesterday for 4 simple L clips 1/8 aluminum, 1 bend, 1.25 inch wide, 1.25 top, 3.5 inch on the bottom. STARTED OUT at $50...just to get it even started... Needless to say, AZ metals and me are parting ways...they say they're small project friendly...well, maybe in the past...no more though. I needed a metal frame made up of about 6 pieces of metal. The metal cost much less than expected. But I needed 2 pieces plasma cut and all 6 welded together, so that was the main expense. All the people there are great, but Scott Moreno, the fabricator and welder, produced a work of art. From my original crude drawing he helped perfect the design and made sure it fit perfectly into the specific shape I needed.
