I returned for a second visit due to the kindness of the owner reaching out. There's no doubt the food is good, people will come back for that. I had the Thai curry with chicken and the man had the burrito. Seriously, delicious and you can tell how healthy the dishes are, truly. I did notice they were calling out the number for the to-go orders - good fix! I work in customer service for one of the biggest multinational diversified hospitality companies, so I know what it means to give good service. It doesn't take very much to give good service, there's no secret. Smile and greet as customers approach, ask how you can help, take the order, ask the right questions, repeat order, end transaction all with a smile. Simple. My experience this round - As we approach the register, the same gal that we interacted with the last visit was training a new gal who took our order. After taking the man's order, she asked for mine so I began to speak. She forgot to ask the man what kind of meat for his order and cut me off to ask him. Then asked me, "so what do you want?" The proper way of handling this would be to take my order (what would you like?) if I was already speaking, then go back to his order. It may seem like the smallest thing, but that simple detail can easily change a bad service to good service. Also, when delivering the food, the "server" should always carry a tray to place the food. That avoids cross-contamination or touching the food. Her finger was so close to touching the food. I hope this will help the business, not hurt it. My husband and I really do enjoy the food. If it was closer to us, we'd probably go more often. With Yelp and other outlets that allow customers to share their thoughts, SERVICE is 45% of how well a business will succeed. It's amazing to have a health conscious food spot in the area! I've been eyeing this spot since I came to watch an LA Galaxy game a while back. It's definitely a gem considering there's not many options for healthy eats in the area. Came in my first time today and tried their California Burrito with a Berry Happy Smoothie. The burrito was delicious as was the salsa that came served with tortilla chips. The food came out in a timely manner. Luckily we missed the lunch rush. The young lady at the front kindly told us the next time we come there are kiosks below the board where the menu is displayed that has photos of all the items on the menu to help with our next food decisions. Ordered a Green Dude smoothie and a Chico Cubano wonder bowl over greens. The smoothie was good - 4 The wonder bowl, I was disappointed in. -2 The pulled pork with pretty good but the portions are all wrong with this bowl. It's like 2 cups of black beans at the bottom, a sprinkle of raw greens, good portion of pulled pork and half of a plantain. This is WAY too much beans especially when I ordered my base to be raw greens not beans. Might as well be eating bean soup. I wouldn't order again. Warning: During the weekday lunch rush be prepared to wait regardless if it's take out or order in. This restaurant completes orders as they receive them (dine in, DoorDash/Grub hub and take out). I don't know how this place has escaped my Yelp searches for so long, but I am beyond happy it finally showed up for me to check out last week. I've now been twice and the food has been fresh and amazing each time. There is something for everyone here whether you want to go ultra healthy or indulge a bit, but either way the ingredients are nothing but quality! I've had the Farm veggies bowl w/black beans and the New World Burger and both were amazing without leaving me in a yucky food coma the way fast food does. They also have lots of fresh made teas, boba drinks, coffee, and house made soda. I've had the Green Matcha w/boba and the Blueberry Jasmine tea sans boba. Both tasted great, but I'd recommend the matcha boba only if you're having something light, it's a 24oz drink that can really fill you up on it's own. The employees are nice and really patient with explaining the different options available on the vast menu. If you know for sure what you want then you can go straight to the self-order Ipads to the right and place your order. Both times I've gone right at 11am when they open, when I leave around 11:45 they are BUSY. So if you are looking for a to-go order I highly recommend ordering ahead. Parking is surprisingly easy even though it shares a lot with a few other places, but again it does get busy during the lunch hour so be prepared. If you're needing to adhere to a specific schedule, I strongly recommend placing your order online as soon as they open. I ordered there a lot in 2022 and my food was ready on time (and still hot when applicable) every single time. The people who work at Chinollo are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was always clean and organized. There is a decent amount of parking available in their lot. My two favorites at Chinollo are the Keto Beef Lettuce Wraps and The Groovy Burger. Both are seasoned well and made with grass-fed beef. Both dishes provide ample portions and will have you coming back again another day. The reasons for 4 stars instead of 5 are the French fries and the VIP Poke Bowl. The fries are just sad - soggy and covered in some off-putting seasoning salt. The VIP Poke Bowl is a tough call. I've had it 4 times. The first two times it was 5 star fresh and delicious. The 3rd and 4th times, it was full of sinewy pieces that destroyed the whole dining experience. Stopped by here for a takeout order after picking up some stuff from Ikea. It was convenient because we could order online on the way and their website also has pictures, descriptions, ingredients, and a rough calorie count which is super helpful because I'm sure most of us are keeping track of our calories in the new year. One thing I did wish their website had was the option to select if you needed or didn't need plastic utensils. It could save them money and help the planet. While we were ordering it gave us an estimated time frame our food would be ready. We arrived in the middle of that time frame and it was ready for us. So convenient! We got the Porkbelly Clincher with half grains and half salad and the Grilled Chicken CTPB which came with salad (you can sub for fries or other stuff at an extra cost). My fiance liked his Pork Belly Clincher, which is Vietnamese/Asian inspired with lemongrass and gochujang, but there were some pieces of pork belly that weren't that tender. I got my chicken sandwich panini pressed and loved it, but you can get it lightly toasted if that's what you prefer. The cheese was still warm and melty even after a 20 min drive back home and held the sandwich together well. I've told all my friends about this restaurant especially the ones who live in Carson. However, it appears they have a new manager who micromanages. I am not one to obsess over much, not celebrities, sports teams (Love my Lakers and Dodgers though), and specially good. But I am definitely obsessed with Chinollo. I've had their steak bowl, the Peruvian (pollo saltado style) bowl, and now the Bugolgi burrito! Every single item tastes amazing, lots of flavor and even though I've only ordered in from them the food has arrived hot and ready to eat! So I've been here twice in the past two weeks...that's how much I love this place! To order: Walk in and either go to the cashier or bank a right and go towards the two tablets and you may place your order there. The bonus with the tablets are all of the pictures. Food: You can customize your food any way you'd like. Half rice, half grains. Half rice, half salad. Half garlic noodles, half rice. Substitute chicken with fish or pork, or beef. You get the idea :). Chico Cubano ($9) - My fiance really liked this dish - the pulled pork was tender, and the pickled onions gave it a nice crunch. He did a half rice with half garlic noodles. The garlic noodles were really good! El Koreano ($10) - This has been my favorite so far! I got mine with steak and half rice and half grains. The grain's tasted really good with this dish! There was a lot of food too! Everything was freshly prepared and so flavorful, especially when eaten with gochujang. There were also pickles, bok choy, and kimchii, which I loveeed. Saltado Peruano ($9) - This dish wasn't as good as my dish, but the garlic noodles really added a new flavor to it. It's packed with french fries, beef, onions, tomatoes, and cilantro. Although I didn't care for it, I can't say it was bad. It was good, I just liked the Thai Chicken better. Thai Chicken ($9) - The sauce was really flavorful and rich. It really went well with the half rice and half greens I had with it. It comes with a side of grilled vegetables and green sauce! The chicken looked a little thin, but when I bit into it, it was full of flavor and not overcooked/tough. All of the bowls were huge! For the amount of food you're getting, the price is well worth it. Ambiance: Seating can be tough if they are really busy as there's not a ton of seats (but I don't think you'll have to worry about it). There's lots of light, and there's a station where you can get your own plates/forks/spoons/napkins, and water. This restaurant is part of Rabano food group and it very similar to Rabano (in Redondo), but just in a different and larger location in Carson. The menu is pretty similar and I am not sure even what differences the two have, but the food has the same great quality as Rabano and service is great. You can either order on the screens to the side or order at the cash register, but it seems like here is easier to order at the register since it is less crowded. Food: Lomo Saltado (steak) - I love a good lomo saltado and this dish definitely did not disappoint. The steak in the dish was so tender and flavorful, mixed with the onions and hot fries over a bed of rice. New World Burger - Cheeseburger with chipotle sauce, onion, argula, tomato, and sharp cheddar on a brioche bun. Overall, it's a very tasty burger with a good combination of ingredients. But I would prefer my burger medium rare instead of medium/medium well. The onions were also a bit strong and overpowering, but this is a burger I would create with all the ingredients. This place is fantastic. I would definitely suggest coming to try it if you haven't. The menu is pretty diverse with burgers, burritos, and bowls (Cuban, Peruvian, Korean, etc). Love their fusion cuisine! It's a mixture of Asian Latin and a bit of everything else. Their service is great too. I typically pick up food and whenever I order it's about like 15 minutes to pick up. I've done there a few times and it's definitely not the biggest place. However they do have crowds at certain times of the day of course the busier you won't be able to get to sit down, however there are a few chairs and tables outside. It's a relaxed atmosphere and it's near college. Definitely recommend a lot of their burgers burrito and their bowls are quite awesome. My favorite is the Baja bowl. It's a fusion place so the burrito is of course not as good as places that specializes in Mexican food. This time I tried their Chinollo bowl and I was very disappointed. The shreds of pork were tasteless only with a few pieces of pickled onions. I picked multi grain and garlic noodles as the base and they were also tasteless. It felt like a very healthy bowl and I had to add soy sauce and sriracha to it. I'm still giving this place 4 stars cause the drinks were good.
