Thanks to an opportunity to try this out at a Yelp Elite Event, I had to come back to get some more because I truly enjoyed the food - and I found out that Rabano and Chinollo are by the same owners! As Alison C. pointed out, "Chinollo is very unique because it's the owner is Cuban born, Peruvian raised and of Chinese heritage, so the menu is a mix of Latin American and Asian fusion." All credits to them for this because the menu makes so much sense in that light. There are 2 different and super convenient ways to order: If you want to talk to someone, you can go up to the cashiers; if you don't want to talk to anyone, there are 2 self-service kiosks. While there is seating indoors, I've always come after work hours and at that time, it seems to be primarily a to-go restaurant. I've been slowly working my way through their Wonder Bowls option - and what I've tried so far are: 0. Base options: Rice, ancient grains (mix of quinoa and other grains), raw greens, garlic noodle, or even a half-half combo of any two options. I agree with Belle C.'s comment about the garlic noodles in that it's "not garlicky enough for me, but maybe it's meant for the white American palate)". Go to any Asian restaurant, Chinese, Indo-Chinese, Viet, and the garlic noodles have tonnes of fragrant & noticeable garlic in it while this simply did not. I like getting rice or ancient grains (for extra fibre) as my base over the greens or garlic noodles. Overall, a great spot with fast & lovely service, healthy & delicious portions of food (enough for two meals for me), and delicious drinks that I recommend especially for to-go orders after work. Also lovely for workers nearby to sit down or get something quick, filing, and tasty! 1. Baja Bowl (GF, RV): Choice of base. Black beans, sweet corn, avocado, cashew-chipotle sauce, pico de gallo. Choice of free-range chicken, organic tofu or pulled pork. For steak add $1. Other choices of protein also available. I love getting this with tofu for an extra dose of fibre from veggies; that sweetness of sweet corn with the salty-creaminess of the black beans go so well with the creamy sauce. 2. Farm Veggie Bowl (V): Vegan. Choice of base. Best of season grilled vegetables, cashew-chipotle sauce, hydro watercress. Add black beans on request. Available: add protein of choice. One of my favourite veggie bowls; I do recommend adding the black beans for more fibre & protein. Such a delicious and filling bowl that's fresh. 3. Chico Cubano (GF, RV): Choice of base. Pulled pork Cuban style, mojo criollo sauce, black beans, red pickled onions, parsley, sweet plantains. other choices of proteins available. This is my absolute favourite dish specifically because of the black beans; I enjoy it so much that I've been asking for a side of them as well. It's a hefty portion of pulled pork as well and 3 chunky plantains cooked to perfection. I do wish there was little bit more of the picked onions to cut through the fatty pork as well as the mojo criollo sauce, but other than that, if you get a bite of everything, it's delicious. 4. Saltado Peruano (GF, RV): Choice of base. Sauteed onion, tomatoes, huacatay sauce, aji panca, cilantro, potato fries. Choice of free-range chicken or tofu. For steak, add $1. Other choices of protein also available. The huacatay with the steak, onions, and tomatoes is so fresh and filling; I like to dip the potatoes in the aji panca after a few bites of everything else. The potatoes are a thick cut, so it can become a tough bite at times. Pro-tip: Eat this one right away as the potatoes can get soggy pretty quickly. I do wish they gave more aji, but other than that, a delicious dish, especially with steak (which I prefered over chicken or tofu). 5. El Koreano (GF, RV): Choice of base. Grilled certified angus steak, baby bok choy, cucumber, gochujang, house kimchi, sweet umami glaze. Other choices of protein also available. I've had this, but I can't say it's my favourite; I would personally go get banchan from a Korean restaurant and enjoy that as a "bowl" than this. There's something about the house kimchi that I don't enjoy as much as I do from Korean establishments. My real complaint isn't about the food, but the to-go container; since it's not plastic, it gets soggy very quickly and loses shape from all the food in the container, causing it to scrape into the food when I use a spoon or fork to eat. My go-to drink is the Zingy; the blend of tartiness from the lemon, the bright punch from the ginger, and Its ingredients are: Fresh ginger, lemon, mint, pineapple, cayenne pepper, raw organic sugar, sparkling water. My partner likes the honey lemonade, especially because you can adjust the sweetness, and actually taste the honey. Its got freshly squeezed lemon, raw organic honey, organic raw sugar.

They have everything from salad bowls to burgers to burritos to soups to matcha lattes. They seem quite popular even on a Thursday at 2pm as there was a steady flow of take out orders. To order: There's 2 ordering kiosks as well as 2 cashiers to take the order & payment. Then they bring your meal to the table. They let you customize the bowl base with rice, raw greens, garlic noodle, or even 1/2 and 1/2. I tried 1/2 raw greens (10/10) and 1/2 garlic noodle (5/10, not garlicky enough for me, but maybe it's meant for the white American palate). There's a water jug with lemons if you would like to drink water but their drink menu is extensive from lemonades to teas (milk tea, fruit tea, hot tea), crafted pops, and lattes. With 6 tables of 4 inside and 2 tables of 8 as well as 4 tables of 2 outside, there's plenty of seating. Parking: shared lot for the strip mall Got the: 1. Honey lemonade: 9/10, even though they let you adjust the sweetness, it was the perfect level of sweetness at regular 2. VIP Poke bowl: 9/10, it came with a decent amount of tuna, although there were 2 pieces with so much tendon that I had to spit those out. You could tell seaweed salad was frozen as it was still icy in the bowl, but the day was so hot (they didn't have AC on inside) that by the time I was halfway through my meal it had warmed to the perfect temperature. Overall a great place that seems well loved by customers!

Chinollo is very unique because it's the owner is Cuban born, Peruvian raised and of Chinese heritage, so the menu is a mix of Latin American and Asian fusion. It is located in a small plaza across from Galaxy Park which makes it great for post-workout or if you want to walk around a bit after eating or just casual eats. There's also a great dessert place in the area (Ken's Ice Cream Parlor). It's self-serve, but when our party got there the kiosk wasn't working (they did fix it after we ordered). The menu prices online when we searched through our phones are outdated so when we ordered at the register food was pricier than expected. However, the food was really good. -Edamame wontons are a new favorite for me! I'll have to keep an eye out if I ever see them on a menu. -El California Burrito: For some reason this took the longest to make, but not sure why. The chips were warm so maybe they made them fresh? Overall service and food was made pretty quickly. My friends got the got the Korean Tacos, Groovy Burger, and Pork Belly Banh Mi and everyone seemed to enjoy the food. Definitely worth a try and return visit.

Tried a sample of the curry chicken at a yelp event and really enjoyed it. I wanted to try other things on their menu and brought my coworkers with me. I ordered the pork belly Bahn mi and it was amazing. It had big chucks of flavorful and tender pork belly, plenty of vegies and the right amount of sauce. I especially appreciated the fact that the bread was toasted just right and ensured the sandwich didn't get soggy. I elected fries for my side and upgraded to truffle fries. They were nice and crispy and lot of cheese and truffle flavor. For my drink I tried the strawberry matcha. It was a great value, got 25% sweeet and it was perfect for me. Very refreshing. One of my coworkers ordered the El California burrito. It was pretty big and he couldn't stop raving about the huacatay crema. He even went up to the counter and asked for extra. Other members in my party ordered the Baja Bowl, Thai Chicken Curry and Saltado Peruano. Evryone loved their dishes and mentioned they cant wait to come back and try something new. The staff was very nice and attentive. The only thing was that I ordered 1st but received my order last but perhaps it take longer to make. Will be back to try the mojo cubano for sure!

Looking for a healthy option.. look no further! Plenty of great options to choose from giving you well balanced meals especially when meal prep chronicles fail. Plenty of parking, great service and a nice atmosphere for those last minute meal plans! I love their fusion options, give them a try!

I love their wonder bowls! Lots of variety and healthy options. Good portion of food too. I got their El Koreano over a salad base. The steak was delicious, and I couldn't get enough of the pickled cucumbers. I just wish there was more gochujang sauce. I'll definitely come back to eat here again.

I think I made a wonderful discovery finding about this place. Location is near CSUDH. Parking is available. Asian+Latino fusion? Sign meeeeeeeeee up. I ordered the Big Wave smoothie, it had pineapple and banana, it was creamy and refreshing and feels like a tropical vibe on an island. I ordered the El Gogi burrito and it had free-range chicken, sriracha-chipotle-mayo, sticky rice, furikake, kimchi, gochujang, cucumber, cilantro, green onion. I was pleasantly surprised how flavorful and not as spicy it was. It was so good I finished it in one sitting. The regular fries were okay, nothing to special but the sweet potato fries were so yummy. It had a bit of sweetness to it which balances right with the little spice in my burrito. Overall, this was a solid lunch I had and will definitely come back for more to try the rest of the menu.

I tried the chicken burrito (El California) it was delicious. It was like 16.58 with tax. Big portion and they give you chips and salsa. I asked for extra salsa no problem most places charge you for extra anything. It was clean and staff friendly.

The Vegan Burrito was good! I thought the addition of broccoli was an interesting choice and that they could have been more creative with the Asian fusion. It just felt like a standard veggie burrito from Chipotle, but with broccoli. It was good though and I really liked the black beans and salsa. I think if they included some kind of fusion salsa or sauce on the side I would have enjoyed the concept more. It was expensive, more expensive than Chiptole for almost the same thing. Food was a 3.5 to me, ambiance was a 2.5 because it smelled like paint fumes inside very badly. Thought this place was overrated and that their vegan options need a bit of a rethink.

What a great place in Carson just across the street from Stub Hub. Chinollo has variety of healthy and tasty items and also affordable. The ambiance is cozy and relax. Everything looks clean. Employees were very helpful and friendly. The owner was also present and checking every table making sure if everything is testing well. This is a much better options than the places around the Stub Hub. Is a must try! read more

I visit this restaurant at least once a week and have never had a disappointing experience. Great meals and a large variety especially if your looking for healthier options. The Baja Bowl is always a great choice and the Korean Tacos are bomb! If your a boba fanatic, you should visit this place. I have always loved boba and have tried it in many places and the boba here is one of my favorites. Costumer service has always been helpful and friendly. We ordered the El Koreano and Soup of the day for to go. Both were really good! The steak was so tender and yummy. Also great flavors for each item in the dish - the ancient grains, bokchoy, kimchi. Even the bread that came with the soup is amazing. Will definitely come back to try the others! The place looks very well decorated too. Would love to dine-in next time. Although some may say the location isn't in an ideal area I would like to differ. Chinollo has such a great clean atmosphere inside their restaurant. I go to school at CSUDH and the food options on campus aren't great especially since I am vegan. Chinollo doesn't have a wide vegan option but they do have a vegan burrito called "El Vegan". I have to say this burrito was the best vegan burrito I've had in a while!! Also the salsa they serve it with is to die for!!!! Sooooo good I had to get extra. Above all I will be returning and I hope they expand their vegan options. One thing I must say is their music playing throughout the restaurant isn't to great I think music that is more relaxing and not so dub step like would be more ideal :) read more

I had the edamame wontons with a spicy sauce for starters- a burst of flavor. Ordered the chicken sandwich and a homemade pomegranate soda. Wow- everything was super delicious a good balance of flavors. The customer service was friendly and place was clean. Hard to believe its in a strip mall in Carson. It's the bomb. Hella fresh, great variety. Really decent prices, nice atmosphere, the staff is very friendly. Ran into a group of firefighters who frequent this spot. They recommended it highly. I have a cousin who is a retired firefighter and he said if firefighters frequent a restaurant, it's probably pretty good because they make good money and typically eat well because they have to stay fit and can't really afford to get sick. His advice was at least spot on for this place. read more

Omg! Heaven in my mouth!! This is one of those very very rare restaurants where ANYTHING you order is one of the best dishes you've ever had. And.....the best part; Prices are 1/3 what you'd expect you would have to pay for the quality of food, friendly service and atmosphere. OMG. I've only been there twice but what I got was sooooooooooo good. I ordered the Chico Urbana bowl with the sauce on the side. The bowl is extremely flavorful. All the ingredients taste fresh and the pork is perfectly seasoned. This bowl is one of few menu items I've ordered anywhere where it was perfectly salted. It wasn't salty and didn't need salt added. I think this is the best bowl meal I've ever had. And it's plenty food -- a great value. Hats off to Chinollo for good service and outstanding food. I want to try something different but that bowl is so good. It makes me smile just to think about it. And since it's only a few blocks away, I'm gonna try something different each week. read more

I been coming to this place for a while and I come very often for in my lunch break since I work down the street. But yesterday I place my order online me and my coworkers place big order over $100dls we were all excited since I've raving about this place to everybody in my department now they wanted to try it but I got little surprise in my bread that comes with southwest salad as I tear the bread apart I notice a black object at first I was like did they change their recipe?? Lol as I continue to look and touch is a stretchy item like a piece of latex glove smh I immediately get disgusted and ruin my lunch I couldn't continue to eat no more :( I am so sad because I love this place and their food is amazing but this is unacceptable and so dangerous I could've ate that latex. And the worst part is that I was so uneasy after work that I stop by and show the girl at front and she didn't think nothing wrong and just offer me a new piece of bread I was like no thank you that's very bad customer service. read more

We went here while my son was doing a soccer training across the street at StubHub center. The restaurant is cute and very clean. We tried the southwest salad and the real burger. Both were very flavorful and filling. The salad had large chunks of chicken breast and tons of veggie toppings. My hubby liked his burger a lot too. One thing we also really liked was their complimentary fruit infused ice water. So refreshing!!! read more

I post this one star not for the food, because it's a great addition to the area, but for the ownership. This is a conversation that has stuck in my mind, but I only recently downloaded the app, and then struggled with whether or not to post this, but I feel it is necessary. When the establishment opened the owner was present and greeted us and asked if we enjoyed the food and then continued to express that he felt the establishment would help gentrify the area. Nowhere needs gentrification, and while the availability of better "fast food" options at a better price point is needed everywhere, but not being funded with this viewpoint. I have stopped supporting this business and I sincerely apologize for the length of time it has taken me to speak out. read more

I got the groovy burger, delicious! The fries are really good and their boba is so so so good! Highly recommend if you vegetarian or vegan. If you're an omnivore like me I think you'll be happy to know that it's grass fed beef! read more

I like this place, used to LOVE it! Food is flavorful, prices are decent and there's a little something for everyone. Lately the service is not what it used to be. I ordered a burger MED WELL and it was cooked medium rare. And this is not the 1st time it has happened. My coworker also said his shrimp on the tacos were dried out. As if they reheated day old shrimp. I hope the level of service goes back up. read more

So excited to have found a health food restaurant in Carson! My husband and I recently moved here from Long Beach and we miss the amazing healthy food options. My wife and I had the pleasure of eating here during soft opening. I decided to order the El California with steak because I have high expectations for California burritos. The burrito is beautifully crafted and it comes with savory chipotle sauce that greatly compliments the burrito. I also ordered the potato fries, which were insanely delicious. The fries are glazed with maple syrup and it went so well with my burrito. Overall, it was an amazing experience and I highly recommend it. read more

My sister picked up some take-out today and brought home two of my favorites for me: Mama Chong's Chinese Chicken Salad and Korean Street Tacos (we split the order). One reason why Mama Chong's is one of my favorite Chinese Chicken Salads ever is that Chinollo's has just the right blend of greens, veggies (carrots and cabbage), chicken, wonton strips, oranges and almonds and--PICKLED vegetables which adds a great zing to the salad. Seriously, one of the best balanced and best tasting Chinese Chicken Salads ever. And the dressing is just right, not too vinegary, not too oily, not too sweet. Just right. Food is tasty here! I still didn't find any dish I don't like yet. The pork belly bowl is a must try dish. It is like Asian bbq park chai siu but more tasty. All ice tea drinks are unsweetened by default. You can ask to add sugar and boba. I can't wait to eat here again. There was only a couple of times where I went in and the person at the front was more engaged on their phone than running the front register and one other incident where a dime was found in my brother's order. It was called in and reported and whoever answered the phone was shocked (as he was as well) which was understandable but the tone implied disbelief like it was made up.
