Thanks to an opportunity to try this out at a Yelp Elite Event, I had to come back to get some more because I truly enjoyed the food - and I found out that Rabano and Chinollo are by the same owners! As Alison C. pointed out, "Chinollo is very unique because it's the owner is Cuban born, Peruvian raised and of Chinese heritage, so the menu is a mix of Latin American and Asian fusion." All credits to them for this because the menu makes so much sense in that light. There are 2 different and super convenient ways to order: If you want to talk to someone, you can go up to the cashiers; if you don't want to talk to anyone, there are 2 self-service kiosks. While there is seating indoors, I've always come after work hours and at that time, it seems to be primarily a to-go restaurant. I've been slowly working my way through their Wonder Bowls option - and what I've tried so far are: 0. Base options: Rice, ancient grains (mix of quinoa and other grains), raw greens, garlic noodle, or even a half-half combo of any two options. I agree with Belle C.'s comment about the garlic noodles in that it's "not garlicky enough for me, but maybe it's meant for the white American palate)". Go to any Asian restaurant, Chinese, Indo-Chinese, Viet, and the garlic noodles have tonnes of fragrant & noticeable garlic in it while this simply did not. I like getting rice or ancient grains (for extra fibre) as my base over the greens or garlic noodles. Overall, a great spot with fast & lovely service, healthy & delicious portions of food (enough for two meals for me), and delicious drinks that I recommend especially for to-go orders after work. Also lovely for workers nearby to sit down or get something quick, filing, and tasty! 1. Baja Bowl (GF, RV): Choice of base. Black beans, sweet corn, avocado, cashew-chipotle sauce, pico de gallo. Choice of free-range chicken, organic tofu or pulled pork. For steak add $1. Other choices of protein also available. I love getting this with tofu for an extra dose of fibre from veggies; that sweetness of sweet corn with the salty-creaminess of the black beans go so well with the creamy sauce. 2. Farm Veggie Bowl (V): Vegan. Choice of base. Best of season grilled vegetables, cashew-chipotle sauce, hydro watercress. Add black beans on request. Available: add protein of choice. One of my favourite veggie bowls; I do recommend adding the black beans for more fibre & protein. Such a delicious and filling bowl that's fresh. 3. Chico Cubano (GF, RV): Choice of base. Pulled pork Cuban style, mojo criollo sauce, black beans, red pickled onions, parsley, sweet plantains. other choices of proteins available. This is my absolute favourite dish specifically because of the black beans; I enjoy it so much that I've been asking for a side of them as well. It's a hefty portion of pulled pork as well and 3 chunky plantains cooked to perfection. I do wish there was little bit more of the picked onions to cut through the fatty pork as well as the mojo criollo sauce, but other than that, if you get a bite of everything, it's delicious. 4. Saltado Peruano (GF, RV): Choice of base. Sauteed onion, tomatoes, huacatay sauce, aji panca, cilantro, potato fries. Choice of free-range chicken or tofu. For steak, add $1. Other choices of protein also available. The huacatay with the steak, onions, and tomatoes is so fresh and filling; I like to dip the potatoes in the aji panca after a few bites of everything else. The potatoes are a thick cut, so it can become a tough bite at times. Pro-tip: Eat this one right away as the potatoes can get soggy pretty quickly. I do wish they gave more aji, but other than that, a delicious dish, especially with steak (which I prefered over chicken or tofu). 5. El Koreano (GF, RV): Choice of base. Grilled certified angus steak, baby bok choy, cucumber, gochujang, house kimchi, sweet umami glaze. Other choices of protein also available. I've had this, but I can't say it's my favourite; I would personally go get banchan from a Korean restaurant and enjoy that as a "bowl" than this. There's something about the house kimchi that I don't enjoy as much as I do from Korean establishments. My real complaint isn't about the food, but the to-go container; since it's not plastic, it gets soggy very quickly and loses shape from all the food in the container, causing it to scrape into the food when I use a spoon or fork to eat. My go-to drink is the Zingy; the blend of tartiness from the lemon, the bright punch from the ginger, and Its ingredients are: Fresh ginger, lemon, mint, pineapple, cayenne pepper, raw organic sugar, sparkling water. My partner likes the honey lemonade, especially because you can adjust the sweetness, and actually taste the honey. Its got freshly squeezed lemon, raw organic honey, organic raw sugar.

They have everything from salad bowls to burgers to burritos to soups to matcha lattes. They seem quite popular even on a Thursday at 2pm as there was a steady flow of take out orders. To order: There's 2 ordering kiosks as well as 2 cashiers to take the order & payment. Then they bring your meal to the table. They let you customize the bowl base with rice, raw greens, garlic noodle, or even 1/2 and 1/2. I tried 1/2 raw greens (10/10) and 1/2 garlic noodle (5/10, not garlicky enough for me, but maybe it's meant for the white American palate). There's a water jug with lemons if you would like to drink water but their drink menu is extensive from lemonades to teas (milk tea, fruit tea, hot tea), crafted pops, and lattes. With 6 tables of 4 inside and 2 tables of 8 as well as 4 tables of 2 outside, there's plenty of seating. Parking: shared lot for the strip mall Got the: 1. Honey lemonade: 9/10, even though they let you adjust the sweetness, it was the perfect level of sweetness at regular 2. VIP Poke bowl: 9/10, it came with a decent amount of tuna, although there were 2 pieces with so much tendon that I had to spit those out. You could tell seaweed salad was frozen as it was still icy in the bowl, but the day was so hot (they didn't have AC on inside) that by the time I was halfway through my meal it had warmed to the perfect temperature. Overall a great place that seems well loved by customers!

It is located in a small plaza across from Galaxy Park which makes it great for post-workout or if you want to walk around a bit after eating or just casual eats. There's also a great dessert place in the area (Ken's Ice Cream Parlor). It's self-serve, but when our party got there the kiosk wasn't working (they did fix it after we ordered). The menu prices online when we searched through our phones are outdated so when we ordered at the register food was pricier than expected. However, the food was really good. -Edamame wontons are a new favorite for me! I'll have to keep an eye out if I ever see them on a menu. -El California Burrito: For some reason this took the longest to make, but not sure why. The chips were warm so maybe they made them fresh? Overall service and food was made pretty quickly. My friends got the got the Korean Tacos, Groovy Burger, and Pork Belly Banh Mi and everyone seemed to enjoy the food. Definitely worth a try and return visit.

Tried a sample of the curry chicken at a yelp event and really enjoyed it. I wanted to try other things on their menu and brought my coworkers with me. I ordered the pork belly Bahn mi and it was amazing. It had big chucks of flavorful and tender pork belly, plenty of vegies and the right amount of sauce. I especially appreciated the fact that the bread was toasted just right and ensured the sandwich didn't get soggy. I elected fries for my side and upgraded to truffle fries. They were nice and crispy and lot of cheese and truffle flavor. For my drink I tried the strawberry matcha. It was a great value, got 25% sweeet and it was perfect for me. Very refreshing. One of my coworkers ordered the El California burrito. It was pretty big and he couldn't stop raving about the huacatay crema. He even went up to the counter and asked for extra. Other members in my party ordered the Baja Bowl, Thai Chicken Curry and Saltado Peruano. Evryone loved their dishes and mentioned they cant wait to come back and try something new. The staff was very nice and attentive. The only thing was that I ordered 1st but received my order last but perhaps it take longer to make. Will be back to try the mojo cubano for sure!

I love their wonder bowls! Lots of variety and healthy options. Good portion of food too. I got their El Koreano over a salad base. The steak was delicious, and I couldn't get enough of the pickled cucumbers. I just wish there was more gochujang sauce. I'll definitely come back to eat here again.

I think I made a wonderful discovery finding about this place. Location is near CSUDH. Parking is available. Asian+Latino fusion? Sign meeeeeeeeee up. I ordered the Big Wave smoothie, it had pineapple and banana, it was creamy and refreshing and feels like a tropical vibe on an island. I ordered the El Gogi burrito and it had free-range chicken, sriracha-chipotle-mayo, sticky rice, furikake, kimchi, gochujang, cucumber, cilantro, green onion. I was pleasantly surprised how flavorful and not as spicy it was. It was so good I finished it in one sitting. The regular fries were okay, nothing to special but the sweet potato fries were so yummy. It had a bit of sweetness to it which balances right with the little spice in my burrito. Overall, this was a solid lunch I had and will definitely come back for more to try the rest of the menu.

I tried the chicken burrito (El California) it was delicious. It was like 16.58 with tax. Big portion and they give you chips and salsa. I asked for extra salsa no problem most places charge you for extra anything. It was clean and staff friendly.

So yummy! My colleagues and I love ordering Chinollo ahead of time to pick up for lunch and they are always on point and the protein always tastes amazing. The Vegan Burrito was good! I thought the addition of broccoli was an interesting choice and that they could have been more creative with the Asian fusion. It just felt like a standard veggie burrito from Chipotle, but with broccoli. It was good though and I really liked the black beans and salsa. I think if they included some kind of fusion salsa or sauce on the side I would have enjoyed the concept more. It was expensive, more expensive than Chiptole for almost the same thing. Food was a 3.5 to me, ambiance was a 2.5 because it smelled like paint fumes inside very badly. Thought this place was overrated and that their vegan options need a bit of a rethink.

This is a wonderful place that's delish and priced right! I was wanting a healthier lunch choice and my palate was thinking salad but my brain wanted to pig out! What a conundrum right?!! So after many thoughtful minutes I decided to visit Chinollo! Yes!, me at Chinollo!! So a lot of eye candy and great food to help reduce the size of my great but overweight body! This place just opened up and we were heading to StubHub so we decided to check it out. I had the Saltado Peruano with wild rice. A great mix of flavors and spices. If you are in the area of Stub Hub (and even if it's a drive) you should come in and get some healthy (and great tasting) food. Wholeheartedly recommend this place! First I am glad it is the owner of Chongs and also happy that they kept their same employee. Now the place Chinollo, it is a very nice restaurant and I am well please of the new look. Today was my second time coming however, the first time they was not open yet. So today is my official time coming and got something to eat. I order couples of food items, one for lunch and one for dinner. I'd got me some Korean Taco with steaks and it was simply delicious, the second item is pork belly cleanean....something like that. I will try that for dinner. Overall I will continue to go and come here when I want and need something good and very healthy to eat. I am so happy I found this place!! It's simply amazing!! My first visit I had the El Koreano and the edamame wontons, both were delicious and made with quality ingredients. My second visit I had the edamame wontons and the sustainable salmon, again food was delicious. Everything was cooked to perfection. I also like the fact that they support our local farms and their staff was fast, efficient, and friendly. Oh and can't beat that price point for what they offer. I had the green burger with a matcha tea and my friends also got the green burger (one subbed with a turkey patty), the salmon along with their vegan chili special and everything was beyond delicious. There are very few "healthy-ish" spots in Carson so I'm glad there's finally a place that caters to that. Service was also great. read more

I used to go here for lunch when I worked in the area. It was always good but menu was typical Chinese deli. The new menu is a combo of Chinese and Cuban and is amazing. It has items that you will not find in the area. The execution is exceptional and the quality of the ingredients is top quality. I had the pork belly and would recommend it. The prices were reasonable. It was surprising to find a restaurant of this quality in the area. My wife is vegan and loved the menu. Would recommend it. read more

I absolutely hate to give the review because I I love this place... I was extremely hungry today and o went to order my food . I sat there and watch how my food was just sitting in the counter after I ordered the line was kind of long and others customers orders were wrong. One lady brought her food back because it was wrong .. My family and I love Chinollo! It has such a great vibe, and it's so rare that we can find food for all of us to eat with our dietary restrictions. We especially love the edamame wontons, they are excellent and we order them every time we go. The staff is always friendly and seems excited to be there. I shared the new world burger + the salmon bowl with my mom and they were both delicious! They offer vegan/vegetarian options too which is awesome. Edamame wontons are a MUST. The sweet potato fries are out of this world! Seriously, the best I've ever had. Usually I need sauces for my fries to add flavor but the chef's top the fries with a sweet and light glaze and it is so yummy! I'm not usually a huge fan or rice but I think I liked the white rice here as much as my salmon. They put garlic in the rice so it has so much flavor. I was even eating it by itself .. I have been there 6 times now. I have had the green burger, thai chicken bowl, and El Koreano bowl. The thai chicken bowl is my favorite, but I am branching out and trying some other menu items. The guy next to me was eating the Baja bowl and I am going for that one next. I don't eat red meat and they were accommodating about swap outs so I could have chicken with my El Koreano. In addition to all the eat in customers, they do a big take out business. It's pretty amazing how quickly they get the food out. I am always looking for dishes with great flavor and they deliver. The same owners have Rabano's in Hermosa and I have also been there several times. I hope they open up some more concepts in the area as they know how to service good food efficiently at reasonable prices. read more

There was only a couple of times where I went in and the person at the front was more engaged on their phone than running the front register and one other incident where a dime was found in my brother's order. It was called in and reported and whoever answered the phone was shocked (as he was as well) which was understandable but the tone implied disbelief like it was made up.
