Thanks to an opportunity to try this out at a Yelp Elite Event, I had to come back to get some more because I truly enjoyed the food - and I found out that Rabano and Chinollo are by the same owners! As Alison C. pointed out, "Chinollo is very unique because it's the owner is Cuban born, Peruvian raised and of Chinese heritage, so the menu is a mix of Latin American and Asian fusion." All credits to them for this because the menu makes so much sense in that light. There are 2 different and super convenient ways to order: If you want to talk to someone, you can go up to the cashiers; if you don't want to talk to anyone, there are 2 self-service kiosks. While there is seating indoors, I've always come after work hours and at that time, it seems to be primarily a to-go restaurant. I've been slowly working my way through their Wonder Bowls option - and what I've tried so far are: 0. Base options: Rice, ancient grains (mix of quinoa and other grains), raw greens, garlic noodle, or even a half-half combo of any two options. I agree with Belle C.'s comment about the garlic noodles in that it's "not garlicky enough for me, but maybe it's meant for the white American palate)". Go to any Asian restaurant, Chinese, Indo-Chinese, Viet, and the garlic noodles have tonnes of fragrant & noticeable garlic in it while this simply did not. I like getting rice or ancient grains (for extra fibre) as my base over the greens or garlic noodles. Overall, a great spot with fast & lovely service, healthy & delicious portions of food (enough for two meals for me), and delicious drinks that I recommend especially for to-go orders after work. Also lovely for workers nearby to sit down or get something quick, filing, and tasty! 1. Baja Bowl (GF, RV): Choice of base. Black beans, sweet corn, avocado, cashew-chipotle sauce, pico de gallo. Choice of free-range chicken, organic tofu or pulled pork. For steak add $1. Other choices of protein also available. I love getting this with tofu for an extra dose of fibre from veggies; that sweetness of sweet corn with the salty-creaminess of the black beans go so well with the creamy sauce. 2. Farm Veggie Bowl (V): Vegan. Choice of base. Best of season grilled vegetables, cashew-chipotle sauce, hydro watercress. Add black beans on request. Available: add protein of choice. One of my favourite veggie bowls; I do recommend adding the black beans for more fibre & protein. Such a delicious and filling bowl that's fresh. 3. Chico Cubano (GF, RV): Choice of base. Pulled pork Cuban style, mojo criollo sauce, black beans, red pickled onions, parsley, sweet plantains. other choices of proteins available. This is my absolute favourite dish specifically because of the black beans; I enjoy it so much that I've been asking for a side of them as well. It's a hefty portion of pulled pork as well and 3 chunky plantains cooked to perfection. I do wish there was little bit more of the picked onions to cut through the fatty pork as well as the mojo criollo sauce, but other than that, if you get a bite of everything, it's delicious. 4. Saltado Peruano (GF, RV): Choice of base. Sauteed onion, tomatoes, huacatay sauce, aji panca, cilantro, potato fries. Choice of free-range chicken or tofu. For steak, add $1. Other choices of protein also available. The huacatay with the steak, onions, and tomatoes is so fresh and filling; I like to dip the potatoes in the aji panca after a few bites of everything else. The potatoes are a thick cut, so it can become a tough bite at times. Pro-tip: Eat this one right away as the potatoes can get soggy pretty quickly. I do wish they gave more aji, but other than that, a delicious dish, especially with steak (which I prefered over chicken or tofu). 5. El Koreano (GF, RV): Choice of base. Grilled certified angus steak, baby bok choy, cucumber, gochujang, house kimchi, sweet umami glaze. Other choices of protein also available. I've had this, but I can't say it's my favourite; I would personally go get banchan from a Korean restaurant and enjoy that as a "bowl" than this. There's something about the house kimchi that I don't enjoy as much as I do from Korean establishments. My real complaint isn't about the food, but the to-go container; since it's not plastic, it gets soggy very quickly and loses shape from all the food in the container, causing it to scrape into the food when I use a spoon or fork to eat. My go-to drink is the Zingy; the blend of tartiness from the lemon, the bright punch from the ginger, and Its ingredients are: Fresh ginger, lemon, mint, pineapple, cayenne pepper, raw organic sugar, sparkling water. My partner likes the honey lemonade, especially because you can adjust the sweetness, and actually taste the honey. Its got freshly squeezed lemon, raw organic honey, organic raw sugar.

They have everything from salad bowls to burgers to burritos to soups to matcha lattes. They seem quite popular even on a Thursday at 2pm as there was a steady flow of take out orders. To order: There's 2 ordering kiosks as well as 2 cashiers to take the order & payment. Then they bring your meal to the table. They let you customize the bowl base with rice, raw greens, garlic noodle, or even 1/2 and 1/2. I tried 1/2 raw greens (10/10) and 1/2 garlic noodle (5/10, not garlicky enough for me, but maybe it's meant for the white American palate). There's a water jug with lemons if you would like to drink water but their drink menu is extensive from lemonades to teas (milk tea, fruit tea, hot tea), crafted pops, and lattes. With 6 tables of 4 inside and 2 tables of 8 as well as 4 tables of 2 outside, there's plenty of seating. Parking: shared lot for the strip mall Got the: 1. Honey lemonade: 9/10, even though they let you adjust the sweetness, it was the perfect level of sweetness at regular 2. VIP Poke bowl: 9/10, it came with a decent amount of tuna, although there were 2 pieces with so much tendon that I had to spit those out. You could tell seaweed salad was frozen as it was still icy in the bowl, but the day was so hot (they didn't have AC on inside) that by the time I was halfway through my meal it had warmed to the perfect temperature. Overall a great place that seems well loved by customers!

It is located in a small plaza across from Galaxy Park which makes it great for post-workout or if you want to walk around a bit after eating or just casual eats. There's also a great dessert place in the area (Ken's Ice Cream Parlor). It's self-serve, but when our party got there the kiosk wasn't working (they did fix it after we ordered). The menu prices online when we searched through our phones are outdated so when we ordered at the register food was pricier than expected. However, the food was really good. -Edamame wontons are a new favorite for me! I'll have to keep an eye out if I ever see them on a menu. -El California Burrito: For some reason this took the longest to make, but not sure why. The chips were warm so maybe they made them fresh? Overall service and food was made pretty quickly. My friends got the got the Korean Tacos, Groovy Burger, and Pork Belly Banh Mi and everyone seemed to enjoy the food. Definitely worth a try and return visit.

Tried a sample of the curry chicken at a yelp event and really enjoyed it. I wanted to try other things on their menu and brought my coworkers with me. I ordered the pork belly Bahn mi and it was amazing. It had big chucks of flavorful and tender pork belly, plenty of vegies and the right amount of sauce. I especially appreciated the fact that the bread was toasted just right and ensured the sandwich didn't get soggy. I elected fries for my side and upgraded to truffle fries. They were nice and crispy and lot of cheese and truffle flavor. For my drink I tried the strawberry matcha. It was a great value, got 25% sweeet and it was perfect for me. Very refreshing. One of my coworkers ordered the El California burrito. It was pretty big and he couldn't stop raving about the huacatay crema. He even went up to the counter and asked for extra. Other members in my party ordered the Baja Bowl, Thai Chicken Curry and Saltado Peruano. Evryone loved their dishes and mentioned they cant wait to come back and try something new. The staff was very nice and attentive. The only thing was that I ordered 1st but received my order last but perhaps it take longer to make. Will be back to try the mojo cubano for sure!

I love their wonder bowls! Lots of variety and healthy options. Good portion of food too. I got their El Koreano over a salad base. The steak was delicious, and I couldn't get enough of the pickled cucumbers. I just wish there was more gochujang sauce. I'll definitely come back to eat here again.

I think I made a wonderful discovery finding about this place. Location is near CSUDH. Parking is available. Asian+Latino fusion? Sign meeeeeeeeee up. I ordered the Big Wave smoothie, it had pineapple and banana, it was creamy and refreshing and feels like a tropical vibe on an island. I ordered the El Gogi burrito and it had free-range chicken, sriracha-chipotle-mayo, sticky rice, furikake, kimchi, gochujang, cucumber, cilantro, green onion. I was pleasantly surprised how flavorful and not as spicy it was. It was so good I finished it in one sitting. The regular fries were okay, nothing to special but the sweet potato fries were so yummy. It had a bit of sweetness to it which balances right with the little spice in my burrito. Overall, this was a solid lunch I had and will definitely come back for more to try the rest of the menu.

I tried the chicken burrito (El California) it was delicious. It was like 16.58 with tax. Big portion and they give you chips and salsa. I asked for extra salsa no problem most places charge you for extra anything. It was clean and staff friendly.

The Vegan Burrito was good! I thought the addition of broccoli was an interesting choice and that they could have been more creative with the Asian fusion. It just felt like a standard veggie burrito from Chipotle, but with broccoli. It was good though and I really liked the black beans and salsa. I think if they included some kind of fusion salsa or sauce on the side I would have enjoyed the concept more. It was expensive, more expensive than Chiptole for almost the same thing. Food was a 3.5 to me, ambiance was a 2.5 because it smelled like paint fumes inside very badly. Thought this place was overrated and that their vegan options need a bit of a rethink.

Yes! Finally a place with Vegan options in Carson! I had the El Vegan Burrito and The Green Burger! (I enjoy leftovers for dinner, lol) Very flavorful all around! I placed a phone order which I recommend because lunch hour there is nuts! (But worth the wait!) Order at least 20 minutes before picking up the order if you do phone in. Loved this place! I love how they are all about using REAL ingredients, organic, and "healthier" options. My go to place for a vegan burger was PJ's grill but this place tastes a lot healthier and was pretty filling for the price. I was pleasantly surprised to find a healthy lunch place in the area. They have gluten and vegan options clearly marked on the menu. If you've been to Rabano in Hermosa Beach, their concept is almost exactly the same. I had the salmon and the sweet potato fries, both of which were very good. I'll definitely be back! read more

I really like this place and I am picky. Worked with some great chefs in my early lifetime. However, what I did find here is that food prep is inconsistent. I ate here when it first opened and ordered the Bahn Mi. It was okay but maybe it's changed since then. Last week, I ordered the gluten free beef lettuce wraps, the mahi tacos, and the truffle fries. The mahi tacos were excellent (I asked for extra slaw). I do think you should ask for extra chipotle sauce on the side. The beef with the lettuce wraps were a little oily and and the lettuce they use is a little "flimsy " and doesn't hold up to actually be "a wrap. " I got out some romaine and iceberg which wrapped better. The truffle fries were soggy but I imagine they would be better if I ate them at the restaurant. And this was after I asked them to redo the fries since they made them first before the other items. They were sitting out when I arrived and I needed to wait another 10 minutes so they would have been even more soggy.. I don't live far away (2 miles) but long enough for the potatoes to wilt. They were nice enough to redo them without a fuss. Needed a little more sriracha flavor but okay. I really wanted more tacos this week but they were closed and so I tried again the next day but noticed online that they closed at 4 pm. It was 3:40 pm. I tried calling but no one answered and no machine. I finally ordered online - the mahi tacos and edamame wontons. I was disappointed because whoever prepped the mahi left the dark part of the fish on and it dramatically changed the taste. Mahi is a mild fish but the thin darker meat strip is really fishy. So, I didn't like these tacos. The edamame filling was bland though the sauce drizzled on the top was good. Needed a bit more though. All in all the sauce flavors were good but needed a little more of those flavors. If you learn how to order how you personally like food, then it's great. I liked the tacos but need a break now since that fishy dark meat tends to stay in your mind a while. It is a good place to go. Just personalize the food to your preference. read more

I wish I had taken a picture of our beautiful, colorful dishes! My Korean Tacos were a tasty cushion of Asian and Latin ingredients! I chose 1 taco to have tofu and the other steak as my proteins and both were exceptional! Love the fabulous food, but you have to FIGHT for parking, hope you can find a table to eat your food. It is a very small restaurant. This food is so good, I now come every week! I love their sister restaurant in Hermosa Beach, which is so busy that I don't mind the short drive to a bigger restaurant with just as great taste. I love the Baja Bowl. Los Angeles is a food desert when it comes to nutrition. This restaurant is healthy and great tasting, which is an unbeatable combination. Love love love that Carson got Chinollo. I moved from Redondo Beach and I was so happy when I found out this place has a similar format to Rabano. I hate when their are gentrified food choices. Offer folks good fresh clean food- and they will eat it no matter what. I love every darn thing I have ever tried there . The yellow sauce they put over the veggies is the bomb, get extra! Thanks for coming to this neighborhood and offering more than soul food or tacos. read more

I absolutely enjoy the food and the ambience. Its so exciting to have a vegan friendly restaurant so close to my place of residence. The owner Armando is phenomenal and very hands on. (Assisting his employees during rush hour, clearing tables and greeting customers). My only suggestion; to please retrain/train the cashier to be courteous....perhaps I caught 'Ramirez' on a bad day but, her insolent demeanor was too present to be ignored. I have been to this place 3 times now and cant get to the rest if the menu because I am so in love with the Baja bowl with Tofu and Garlic Noodles. I do it without the black beans but it all just pairs so nicely together. And the truffle fries!!! Looovvveeeee. This was a perfect addition to the neighborhood and I am surprised that they arent overrun with students with how close they are to the college. read more

I've been going to Chinollo for a while and I must say that their food never disappoints! The place is neat and clean and most of the time the staff is friendly and attentive. There was only a couple of times where I went in and the person at the front was more engaged on their phone than running the front register and one other incident where a dime was found in my brother's order. It was called in and reported and whoever answered the phone was shocked (as he was as well) which was understandable but the tone implied disbelief like it was made up. Nonetheless, Chinollo prepared a new order as they should have but what made the incident a top-tier handling by management was the owner called my sister because she placed the order and apologize an provided a gift card for future use!
