Thanks to an opportunity to try this out at a Yelp Elite Event, I had to come back to get some more because I truly enjoyed the food - and I found out that Rabano and Chinollo are by the same owners! As Alison C. pointed out, "Chinollo is very unique because it's the owner is Cuban born, Peruvian raised and of Chinese heritage, so the menu is a mix of Latin American and Asian fusion." All credits to them for this because the menu makes so much sense in that light. There are 2 different and super convenient ways to order: If you want to talk to someone, you can go up to the cashiers; if you don't want to talk to anyone, there are 2 self-service kiosks. While there is seating indoors, I've always come after work hours and at that time, it seems to be primarily a to-go restaurant. I've been slowly working my way through their Wonder Bowls option - and what I've tried so far are: 0. Base options: Rice, ancient grains (mix of quinoa and other grains), raw greens, garlic noodle, or even a half-half combo of any two options. I agree with Belle C.'s comment about the garlic noodles in that it's "not garlicky enough for me, but maybe it's meant for the white American palate)". Go to any Asian restaurant, Chinese, Indo-Chinese, Viet, and the garlic noodles have tonnes of fragrant & noticeable garlic in it while this simply did not. I like getting rice or ancient grains (for extra fibre) as my base over the greens or garlic noodles. Overall, a great spot with fast & lovely service, healthy & delicious portions of food (enough for two meals for me), and delicious drinks that I recommend especially for to-go orders after work. Also lovely for workers nearby to sit down or get something quick, filing, and tasty! 1. Baja Bowl (GF, RV): Choice of base. Black beans, sweet corn, avocado, cashew-chipotle sauce, pico de gallo. Choice of free-range chicken, organic tofu or pulled pork. For steak add $1. Other choices of protein also available. I love getting this with tofu for an extra dose of fibre from veggies; that sweetness of sweet corn with the salty-creaminess of the black beans go so well with the creamy sauce. 2. Farm Veggie Bowl (V): Vegan. Choice of base. Best of season grilled vegetables, cashew-chipotle sauce, hydro watercress. Add black beans on request. Available: add protein of choice. One of my favourite veggie bowls; I do recommend adding the black beans for more fibre & protein. Such a delicious and filling bowl that's fresh. 3. Chico Cubano (GF, RV): Choice of base. Pulled pork Cuban style, mojo criollo sauce, black beans, red pickled onions, parsley, sweet plantains. other choices of proteins available. This is my absolute favourite dish specifically because of the black beans; I enjoy it so much that I've been asking for a side of them as well. It's a hefty portion of pulled pork as well and 3 chunky plantains cooked to perfection. I do wish there was little bit more of the picked onions to cut through the fatty pork as well as the mojo criollo sauce, but other than that, if you get a bite of everything, it's delicious. 4. Saltado Peruano (GF, RV): Choice of base. Sauteed onion, tomatoes, huacatay sauce, aji panca, cilantro, potato fries. Choice of free-range chicken or tofu. For steak, add $1. Other choices of protein also available. The huacatay with the steak, onions, and tomatoes is so fresh and filling; I like to dip the potatoes in the aji panca after a few bites of everything else. The potatoes are a thick cut, so it can become a tough bite at times. Pro-tip: Eat this one right away as the potatoes can get soggy pretty quickly. I do wish they gave more aji, but other than that, a delicious dish, especially with steak (which I prefered over chicken or tofu). 5. El Koreano (GF, RV): Choice of base. Grilled certified angus steak, baby bok choy, cucumber, gochujang, house kimchi, sweet umami glaze. Other choices of protein also available. I've had this, but I can't say it's my favourite; I would personally go get banchan from a Korean restaurant and enjoy that as a "bowl" than this. There's something about the house kimchi that I don't enjoy as much as I do from Korean establishments. My real complaint isn't about the food, but the to-go container; since it's not plastic, it gets soggy very quickly and loses shape from all the food in the container, causing it to scrape into the food when I use a spoon or fork to eat. My go-to drink is the Zingy; the blend of tartiness from the lemon, the bright punch from the ginger, and Its ingredients are: Fresh ginger, lemon, mint, pineapple, cayenne pepper, raw organic sugar, sparkling water. My partner likes the honey lemonade, especially because you can adjust the sweetness, and actually taste the honey. Its got freshly squeezed lemon, raw organic honey, organic raw sugar.

They have everything from salad bowls to burgers to burritos to soups to matcha lattes. They seem quite popular even on a Thursday at 2pm as there was a steady flow of take out orders. To order: There's 2 ordering kiosks as well as 2 cashiers to take the order & payment. Then they bring your meal to the table. They let you customize the bowl base with rice, raw greens, garlic noodle, or even 1/2 and 1/2. I tried 1/2 raw greens (10/10) and 1/2 garlic noodle (5/10, not garlicky enough for me, but maybe it's meant for the white American palate). There's a water jug with lemons if you would like to drink water but their drink menu is extensive from lemonades to teas (milk tea, fruit tea, hot tea), crafted pops, and lattes. With 6 tables of 4 inside and 2 tables of 8 as well as 4 tables of 2 outside, there's plenty of seating. Parking: shared lot for the strip mall Got the: 1. Honey lemonade: 9/10, even though they let you adjust the sweetness, it was the perfect level of sweetness at regular 2. VIP Poke bowl: 9/10, it came with a decent amount of tuna, although there were 2 pieces with so much tendon that I had to spit those out. You could tell seaweed salad was frozen as it was still icy in the bowl, but the day was so hot (they didn't have AC on inside) that by the time I was halfway through my meal it had warmed to the perfect temperature. Overall a great place that seems well loved by customers!

It is located in a small plaza across from Galaxy Park which makes it great for post-workout or if you want to walk around a bit after eating or just casual eats. There's also a great dessert place in the area (Ken's Ice Cream Parlor). It's self-serve, but when our party got there the kiosk wasn't working (they did fix it after we ordered). The menu prices online when we searched through our phones are outdated so when we ordered at the register food was pricier than expected. However, the food was really good. -Edamame wontons are a new favorite for me! I'll have to keep an eye out if I ever see them on a menu. -El California Burrito: For some reason this took the longest to make, but not sure why. The chips were warm so maybe they made them fresh? Overall service and food was made pretty quickly. My friends got the got the Korean Tacos, Groovy Burger, and Pork Belly Banh Mi and everyone seemed to enjoy the food. Definitely worth a try and return visit.

Tried a sample of the curry chicken at a yelp event and really enjoyed it. I wanted to try other things on their menu and brought my coworkers with me. I ordered the pork belly Bahn mi and it was amazing. It had big chucks of flavorful and tender pork belly, plenty of vegies and the right amount of sauce. I especially appreciated the fact that the bread was toasted just right and ensured the sandwich didn't get soggy. I elected fries for my side and upgraded to truffle fries. They were nice and crispy and lot of cheese and truffle flavor. For my drink I tried the strawberry matcha. It was a great value, got 25% sweeet and it was perfect for me. Very refreshing. One of my coworkers ordered the El California burrito. It was pretty big and he couldn't stop raving about the huacatay crema. He even went up to the counter and asked for extra. Other members in my party ordered the Baja Bowl, Thai Chicken Curry and Saltado Peruano. Evryone loved their dishes and mentioned they cant wait to come back and try something new. The staff was very nice and attentive. The only thing was that I ordered 1st but received my order last but perhaps it take longer to make. Will be back to try the mojo cubano for sure!

I love their wonder bowls! Lots of variety and healthy options. Good portion of food too. I got their El Koreano over a salad base. The steak was delicious, and I couldn't get enough of the pickled cucumbers. I just wish there was more gochujang sauce. I'll definitely come back to eat here again.

I think I made a wonderful discovery finding about this place. Location is near CSUDH. Parking is available. Asian+Latino fusion? Sign meeeeeeeeee up. I ordered the Big Wave smoothie, it had pineapple and banana, it was creamy and refreshing and feels like a tropical vibe on an island. I ordered the El Gogi burrito and it had free-range chicken, sriracha-chipotle-mayo, sticky rice, furikake, kimchi, gochujang, cucumber, cilantro, green onion. I was pleasantly surprised how flavorful and not as spicy it was. It was so good I finished it in one sitting. The regular fries were okay, nothing to special but the sweet potato fries were so yummy. It had a bit of sweetness to it which balances right with the little spice in my burrito. Overall, this was a solid lunch I had and will definitely come back for more to try the rest of the menu.

I tried the chicken burrito (El California) it was delicious. It was like 16.58 with tax. Big portion and they give you chips and salsa. I asked for extra salsa no problem most places charge you for extra anything. It was clean and staff friendly.

So yummy! My colleagues and I love ordering Chinollo ahead of time to pick up for lunch and they are always on point and the protein always tastes amazing. The Vegan Burrito was good! I thought the addition of broccoli was an interesting choice and that they could have been more creative with the Asian fusion. It just felt like a standard veggie burrito from Chipotle, but with broccoli. It was good though and I really liked the black beans and salsa. I think if they included some kind of fusion salsa or sauce on the side I would have enjoyed the concept more. It was expensive, more expensive than Chiptole for almost the same thing. Food was a 3.5 to me, ambiance was a 2.5 because it smelled like paint fumes inside very badly. Thought this place was overrated and that their vegan options need a bit of a rethink.

Still sitting here as I write this because this place is so darn good! I got the fish tacos (and honey lemonade) but let me tell you, I will be back for more!! Service was freaking amazing! My husband and I dined inside and noticed that every single customer left with a smile on their face. Literally, they all expressed either how happy they were or how great their food looked. Chinollo's is my favorite place to get something to eat in Carson. They have provided me with excellent customer service and accommodated me with my many requests of customizing my taste buds. My husband and I can eat here everyday. So glad that they are able to offer freash health nutrient dense food in area that traditionally prefer to offer unhealthy fast food choices to the residence of Carson. I was in the area so I'm not a local but from the five stars on yelp I had to check it out! I was visiting in LA and was looking for something healthy, and I found this cute restaurant. I walked in and there are multiple boards listing out their food items. You have sooo many options when trying to look for something nutritious yet delicious. I opted for the Baja bowl with chicken and greens. It was delicious though I did think they should of gave more of greens because my bowl had too much black beans than anything else. I also ordered the new world burger and it was delicious! They really do know how to cook a burger here, it comes with everything you could ask for. The honey chipotle BBQ and aioli sauce is was made it phenomenal, while the fries itself were super crispy. As for a drink, I ordered a 16oz summer coolness refresher and it was good but the mint overpowered the cucumber lemonade. Overall, I thought this place was great, I just wish we had something similar in San Diego! read more

I am sooo excited my sweet little town has a decent restaurant with quality food options. Born and raised in Carson, I am very happy we finally have a place with delicious healthy food that is made with organic ingredients and vegan options. We are so tired of Chilis, Olive Garden, nasty Buffalo Wild Wings and tired a** Tony Romas. I went on a Friday just to try and went back the next day because it was so good. Meat was flavorful, sweet potato fries comes with honey glaze, new world burger was juicy and they also have crafted sodas which are soo bomb! LOVE ME SOME CHINOLLO! read more

Wow I've been on the hunt for a place that offers vegan options that won't break the bank and this place takes the cake! (Vegan of course) this place is a friendly environment as soon as i walked in i was immediately greeted and their menu is well put out. Tried the new Chinollo restaurant today. Excellent service with great fresh food. I tried the El Vegan Burrito Bonito and it was loaded with vegetables, potatoes and a great salsa. Enjoyed the Baja Wonder Bowl that included the cashew chipotle sauce, just the right amount of seasoning. The Southwestern Salad had fresh greens with tender chicken breast and slightly sweet sesame ginger dressing. The sweet potato fries had the right crisp to it. Enjoyed the unique edamame wonton skins with the slightly spicy sriracha agave dip. The Street fish tacos had yummy tender mahi-mahi fish with a great chipotle crema sauce on top. The Iced Coffee vanilla tasted like a vanilla creamy shake - so good and sweet, like dessert. Also enjoyed the Jasmine Tea Boba that had the right sweetness and fresh chewy boba. To be completely honest I had no idea what this restaurant was exactly but I always saw it was busy so I decided to give it a shot. Local spot with a great selection. I got the yellow curry and the wife got the South Western salad. The yellow curry was one of the best I've had and the salad was huge and tasty. High quality ingredients for sure. I wish I would've known about this place sooner. Seems to be a popular spot for take out but there's plenty of self seating space. Good to have clean non " fast food" in an area with garbage fast food spots on every corner (2x each fast food chain within a mile of each other????). Prices are reasonable and the menu has enough variety to satisfy almost any craving. I have recommended this place to everyone I know who tries to not eat garbage and they thank me. If you go to any gym in Carson and want to eat afterwards this is your best and healthiest choice. read more

This is my favorite vegan/vegetarian place! I've tried many places from Long Beach to LA. This place is the winner! First, their menu has international choices. This is now one of my favorite spots to come and enjoy delicious, fresh food with an amazing explosion of flavors richly combined. I had the Peruvian Saltado with chicken. I absolutely loved the edamame wontons, they were fresh and crunchy with a tad bit of spiciness ! I also ordered the grilled chicken Baja bowl which was light but filling. To top it off the cucumber coolness refresher was perfect for a hot day. A nice spot for those who want to eat clean or be healthy with some comfort. We are here before a Galaxy game over the weekend and have to say I was impressed. It's always difficult trusting reviews, particularly high reviews when a place just opens, but this one proved me wrong. We had the salmon bowl, the chicken bowl, the beef bowl, the burger, and the fish tacos. All were tasty. The only thing I will do different next time is ask for the sauces on the side. Every time I have gone it has been amazing. The food is amazing. I strongly recommend the new world burger and the strawberry lemonade refresher. The fries are great too, crispy and crunchy. This place is Ah-Ma-Zing! Everything we ordered was full of flavor, and cooked to perfection. We received fast and friendly service and the menu has healthy options for everyone. Chinollo is the perfect go to spot in Carson for quality food at an even better price! In regards to the vegetarian/vegan options, you won't be disappointed. I ordered the El Vegan burrito, edamame wontons, sweet potato fries and a Thai Tea with almond milk. If Chinollo isn't #1 it has to be 1 of the top 5 restaurants to dine in Carson. The food is amazing here, and no one is ever left out. Staff is always incredibly friendly and very prompt. read more

Lives up to its 5 stars. Great quality food at a good price point. Had the Chinese Chicken Salad (lot larger than I was expecting) and the saltado with beef and the 1/2 grains 1/2 salad. Both were very tasty and most importantly both my young kids enjoyed. We also had the green smoothie (we all enjoyed) and also the strawberry lemonade with honey (we prefer without honey but it was different and something new to try if you like honey). We will be back to try again. Please don't raise your prices! :) P.s bathroom was clean and staff seemed friendly as they brought food to the table read more

This is our first try at Chinollo and we will definitely be back. We shared the truffle fries and then ordered the vegan Baja Bowl and Thai Chicken Bowl, both on greens. Both were not only delicious, but clean, beautiful, healthy and satisfying. Oh, and the ginger ale was fresh and refreshing. Prices are very reasonable, ambience is clean, bright and attractive. If you are vegan and need a place that has something other than beans and rice for you, this is the place. There is a decent selection for both vegans and carnivores. I've been going to Chinollo for a while and I must say that their food never disappoints! The place is neat and clean and most of the time the staff is friendly and attentive. There was only a couple of times where I went in and the person at the front was more engaged on their phone than running the front register and one other incident where a dime was found in my brother's order. It was called in and reported and whoever answered the phone was shocked (as he was as well) which was understandable but the tone implied disbelief like it was made up. Nonetheless, Chinollo prepared a new order as they should have but what made the incident a top-tier handling by management was the owner called my sister because she placed the order and apologize an provided a gift card for future use!
