I've had takeout from China Wok a couple of times and I've never been disappointed -- quite the opposite. Haven't tried anything too adventurous, stuck with Pineapple Chicken and Moo Goo Gai Pan so far, but they were superior to any local Chinese I've had. Really, among the best. Exactly what I look for in a Chinese food place. It's not upscale, it's not fancy. It's great Chinese take out. It's got all the things you want: the photo menu board, the cases of drinks stacked, the fridge, the tiny waiting area. It's cheap, and the food tastes exactly like you expect. The entrees are good, the pork egg rolls are mostly cabbage and not much pork, but my wife says they taste even better cold. I'm telling you, if you're looking for cheap Chinese, this is a great option. Call ahead, pick up, eat it at home. No delivery, I don't believe. If you want crab rangoons, they do serve them although the menu I believe lists them as Cheese Wonton (#10a) read more

We tried China Wok for the first time. 3 meals- General TSOs Chicken, Shrimp w/Garlic sauce , Chow Fun - vegetarian and vegetable spring rolls and shrimp rolls. We all thought the meals were tasty, flavorful and fresh. The spring and shrimp rolls were crispy and delicious with the duck sauce. The seasonings were not too mild or too spicy and we have enough food leftover for another dinner tomorrow. We will go back again. Great takeout chinese place. They dont skimp on the portions. Very nice staff. Very quick too! I just wanted a menu since I just moved here but I decided to try some of their menu. Tried this place for the first and last time 2 weeks ago. Price was insane and the food was mostly thrown out. My pepper steak was mostly peppers and they looked like they were not in good shape. All 3 of our meals were not very good and none of us finished them. Would not recommend or go back. The people were also not the friendliest and the place behind the glass didn't look like it would pass any inspections but that is for NS to deal with. read more

I come here for lunch from time to time this is my post/review. Today I'm having the general tso chicken combination platter. The platter taste good but I'm used to getting broccoli in my general tso it just look so unhappy without it. I've had a few other options here the chow mei fun .. good but a little dry. An also the Shrimp Egg Foo Young .. patties excellent but the gravy needs work tasted alittle bitter . I forgot to take pictures but I will from now on. I've tried this place twice now and have hoped it would be good (as it's close to my house) but... no luck! It's just average at best. I'd give it two and a half stars if I could but they get lucky tonight with three instead of two. Dishes are bland...especially the fried rice which is little more than rice. No pea, no carrot, no scallion, no color, no flavor. The chicken had a funky texture which was a weird cross between rubber... and mush! I've had better Chinese food in airports and shopping malls...which in and of itself is a scary thought. They say that "the third time is the charm" but we'll never know as I won't be returning. read more

I ordered my food and waited while it was made. The entire time that I was there, the middle aged man was SCREAMING at a woman while they cooked. I don't speak their language, but he was clearly extremely angry, and the woman looked very scared of him and was being quiet with head bowed down. Girl, whatever he was angry about, you DO NOT DESERVE TO BE TREATED LIKE THAT! It doesn't matter if you are an employee or his wife, even if you actually did something wrong, you deserve to be treated respectfully!! Please, get some help. That is abuse. I'm in the Military and have been all over the world and tried so many different types of foods from different cultures so no one can tell me that I don't know what I'm talking about. A true diamond in the rough. Food and service is fantastic. All dishes have great flavors. The young lady who takes the orders is friendly and bright. Orders placed are ready within 15 minutes. Fried tofu with spicy blackbean are great. Dunplings are filling. Pork fried rice is my daughters favorite. Never disappointed. read more

On occasion we'd get soup or appetizers here, hadn't been here in years.  Decided to get some lunch specials the other day because we were nearby.  What an ordeal!  At first I couldn't understand why the older guy kept screaming at the woman taking orders but it dawned on me that she might be hearing-impaired. She couldn't understand me and I didn't understand her and I don't think it's a language issue.  She forgot one order and was annoyed when I pointed it out. When I got home I saw that she had packed one special upside-down and the bag had sauce ALL over it inside.  Total mess.  I place the bag in my sink and carefully took everything out, even the fortune cookies were covered in sauce.  My plan was to put the food in another container, the first styrofoam container I lifted out was stapled together and cut my finger.  Glad I saw it and the staple didn't end up in the food. Who does something that stupid and unsafe?  Food was edible but there were no cashews in the cashew chicken and the chicken in the General Tsao were teeny bits of chicken. Sorry I didn't take pix of those staples.  Avoid. read more

I ordered this hoping it would be one of those little Chinese restaurants that are cheap but surprisingly delicious, but was sorely disappointed. When I cut open some of my chicken pieces they were clearly undercooked, some even dangerously pink. Made me feel nauseous while I was eating, couldn't even finish my meal. I've eaten at probably every Chinese place in the Delco area and beyond, and China Wok is by far my favorite! My family agrees as well. We always order the Egg Rolls, Wonton Soup and House Fried Rice, among other items on the menu. Each and every time the food is flavorful and the portions are completely fully packed into the containers. The staff at China Wok are always friendly and know that I love duck sauce and they fill my bag every time with large amounts of it! My family and I have been getting take out here for many, many years, at least 3-4 times a month and have not once been disappointed with anything. I definitely recommend China Wok. Tried it one more time, with the new owners no good the chicken in the chicken rice soup is like rubber . Shrimp & broccoli was terrible .My kingdom for the old owners to come back they were the best. Should have known when I was there at 6:00 pm on a fri ,and it no one was there. read more

Not bad at all. Typical little Szechuan place, good portions, well cooked, variety of vegetables, etc... the egg rolls and fried dumplings were crispy, excellent. I would have preferred my Ming shrimp to be a bit spicier, but it was still well-seasoned, good flavor, and the shrimp were cleaned, deveined, and hand-butterflied, which I find extremely important. Service was also super-fast and the price was right. Entree, rice, side dish, and appetizer for two came to $18.50, and I was out the door in 10 minutes. You want radishes carved to like flowers, bowtie waitstaff, and live Koi ponds? Go ahead and pay $50 bucks a head. I'll take places like this any day. 4 stars if they added some spice and delivered. read more

My company just moved up to Newtown Square from Wayne and the office was looking for a good Chinese spot and found this. Although I got a warning from another company in our building that they were crap we tried any way. It was horrible. I ordered the General Tso's chicken and it was the worst I have ever had. Dry tasteless just gross. Never Ever Again!!! read more

Always somewhat friendly when I walk in. Food is very good at a decent price. However, sometimes it doesn't smell too great when I go to pick up my food but it tastes good so that's all that matters. Looking for a quick fix of Chinese food? Definitely recommend China Wok! read more

This is honestly pretty good. My parents actually moved into a house not far from here and were looking for a new Chinese place since our old stomping grounds is all the way back in Havertown (Mandarin Kitchen, which by the way I cannot praise enough), so we came across this little gem in the shopping center over in Media. We ordered our basic go-to's for testing (An order of steamed dumplings for my mother and myself, a wonton soup for me, seafood delight with an order of egg rolls for my father, and moo goo gai pan for mom). Overall the dumplings were amazing (I personally loved them as I am a fan of thicker dumplings with more substance inside which these delivered on, though my mom wasn't too fond of them because she prefers the thin outer layers like the ones back at Mandarin), the moo goo gai pan was definitely aces for my mom though, and my dads order of seafood delight and egg rolls delivered on our expectations and then some, especially since they are VERY generous with their portions, atleast with our order. My only complaint is honestly that I was not big on the wonton soup. The broth just felt very weak overall and as my mom would say about light broths like that "they just hold the chicken over the hot water and let it waft", and the wontons were just so-so. Overall though, it was a pleasant experience and I would personally come back again. read more
