Greasy...soggy...salted beyond belief and they had a funky taste that's not usually synonymous with "fresh" seafood! It wasn't a question of "if" the shrimp had gone bad...but rather "when" the shrimp went bad. Chicken Fried Rice was bland and uninspired. If you can look beyond the smoky taste of burned oil...there is little else adding flavor or character to the dish. "Fortunately"...I had unused dipping sauce for the inedible spring rolls that I was able to use to " resurrect" this deceased rice dish. Singapore noddles are "OK"... if you like your veggies void of any fresh crunch. The shrimp in the noodles were VERY "shrimpy" tasting...which was an indication that they were in need of a proper burial. I didn't eat them... and would have given them to my dog...but I really love him. Both the rice and noodles would have benefitted from a little salt, but clearly it was all used up in the spring rolls!! Oh the irony. My father always told me that "some lessons in life cost more than others". I should have known better than to go back to the scene of a previous (food) crime, but...I didn't. This was an over priced $37 dollar lesson. I'm just hope that it doesn't come with a side of food poisoning!

The staff was super friendly, especially Maggie, who was so sweet with my daughter. She even brought over a training piece for her chopsticks and made her feel really special. We decided to try a slice of cheesecake before we left, which unfortunately seemed to have been frozen and wasn't as good as the rest of the meal. Finally I spoke up and said "May I see the takeout menu?" She handed one to me, and went back to her conversation. The "friend" sneered at me and moved so that she was blocking me from the register. I couldn't believe it. After a while I looked at the employee and finally said "Oh hey, I am ready to order." She glanced up and nodded. But went back to listening to her "friend." At this point I walked up to the register and said "Excuse me but I'd like to order." The "friend" GLARED at me, spitting venom from every pore. Then she launched into a TIRADE. I ignored her and placed my order. I won't lie though, I was fn shaking. Here I am, a middle-aged woman who's endured some trauma and BS in my life and come out on the other side, and this nasty little B is taking me on?! She continued to glare at me the entire time I was there waiting for my food, up to and including when I walked out the door. It was APPALLING. How no one got involved is just disgusting. I spoke to an employee and asked for the manager/owner. She said they weren't there. I left my name and number and asked for a call back. Heard nothing. The food is OK--not worth abuse. The fish is of top quality and their portions are very large. We got the sushi/ sashimi platter for about 30 bucks and it was enough for two people. They also give you a delicious salad dressing to go along with the salad which is included. And as a dessert, which Japanese restaurants usually throw in .... an orange, which is always kind of orange in color with no taste. This one was extraordinary.... the best orange I've had in a long time. Can't really vouch for the maki because I only had one, but the sashimi and sushi good were just excellent. I would give this all a slightly lower rating of 3/5 compared to my first experience. What is the real low blow is my food buddy unfortunately ate a disgusting piece. One of the salmon sushi pieces tasted rotten. The other one did not. If you unfortunately know what mold tastes like then you can see my unpleasant review. It was a surprise because the single salmon sushi (in the middle of the combination tray in between the white tuna and the tuna nigiri) looked ok. But it had an odd odor and poor taste. The service is prompt but not rushed. It is a great place for lunch with friends or folks visiting. Again, the lunch is very generous. Most items are soup / spring roll, white / fried rice, the entrée of course, and fortune cookies for good luck. Prices are reasonable. It's hard to believe that I can enjoy that wonderful Hunan Shrimp lunch special for little more than the cost of a hoagie nearby. Of course I recommend my favorites, but friends ordering other lunch specials have been very satisfied. And we come back. The take-out might be very ordinary; they do a big take-out business. During Covid, the dining room was closed, the demand for take-out was incredible. They work very hard for their success. I was a little concerned pulling into parking lot as there was a brand new Sushi/Japanese storefront right next door, and thought perhaps someone decided to take up the challenge of competition....only to be thrilled to learn that M&M ownership actually expanded next door to add even more amazing dinner options!!!! This is by far the best Chinese and now Japanese food I have had in this area in an extremely friendly but relatively low key setting....although the new Sushi setting is definitely a bit more upscale in terms of decor. The Owner is still genuinely one of the nicest and most hospitable restauranteurs I have ever met!!!
