Nice people, ambiance is pretty much what one would expect of a sit down Chinese place in the suburbs. Tea and fried wonton skins served before the meal. General Tso not too spicy but with the right touch of heat. Not too vinegary. Egg roll was a solid 7 tho. read more

I ordered takeout. And I can only review for fellow vegans. Very nice staff and the food was good but not many options for vegans. I did have a problem understanding the person on the phone but they did recommend rice noodles because the regular noodles are made with eggs. Have you ever had rice noodles? Not much substance. read more

Placed an order and thought price was high. When I went in and checked the menu, it was $5 cheaper. I asked and the women said, "oh that's an old menu." I said you shouldn't have a menu that is incorrect and she said too bad. She did not honor the price of her own menu that was sitting on the counter. Said new menu will come out soon. She should have honored the old price. Bad customer service read more

I have my favorites, that's what I always order. For more than ten years. It is always Hunan Shrimp or Shrimp with broccoli. It is always better than excellent based on the always-fresh broccoli florets ( never frozen or worse ) and the amount of plump, succulent shrimp. Authentically spicy when I ask. Dine-hospitality starts with a pot of tea, a bowl of fried noodles, and a saucer of duck sauce. Water too, of course. There is a comfortable, family-like feeling about the place. The service is prompt but not rushed. It is a great place for lunch with friends or folks visiting. Again, the lunch is very generous. Most items are soup / spring roll, white / fried rice, the entrée of course, and fortune cookies for good luck. Prices are reasonable. It's hard to believe that I can enjoy that wonderful Hunan Shrimp lunch special for little more than the cost of a hoagie nearby. Of course I recommend my favorites, but friends ordering other lunch specials have been very satisfied. And we come back. The take-out might be very ordinary; they do a big take-out business. During Covid, the dining room was closed, the demand for take-out was incredible. They work very hard for their success. But enjoy the reopened, cozy, clean dining room and the goodness of family-style Chinese cooking. Clearly, I am very partial to the place for the good food and family atmosphere. After all these years, it still makes me happy. read more

A problem for me is their policy. Make you order$40. before will deliver to Newtown Square. Shame because the food is good. It's my favorite.But... Most places don't have a minimum, so if its just 1 or 2 people you can't order for delivery from them. My order is usually around $ 25 ish read more

Our go to Chinese place for years. Prices are still fair, but creeping up. Quality Chinese food, the same kind you've probably been getting for years. If you miss the old usual way of Chinese, without being a greasy spoon or without being needlessly fancy with accompanying price tag and still nothing special (looking at you, New Leaf), this is your place. read more

The blandest food of all time ! There was no flavor in the fried shrimp rice. The beef sticks were terrible and sickly over sauced. Won ton soup now has 7 or 10 green onions floating on top and the dumplings tasted like wall paper paste and just as thick. Maybe YOU guys need a new cook or bring back mama. No more read more

Our family we're visiting the city for the weekend and came across this great restaurant. The 2 ladies who greeted the guests at the front were helpful and friendly. We had peanuts allergy in our party and we ordered the Kung Pao Bean Curd without peanuts with no sugar added. When we got back to our hotel, we realized that the restaurant mistakenly put peanuts in the orders. The ladies apologized and offered to make new ones for us without the peanuts when we called back. The dishes were tasty and fresh. We were so very pleasantly surprised. Not too many places would customize orders nor would they replace orders so quickly with such nice attitudes. Would definitely come back when we visit Broomall again!! read more

This used to be the spot for decent chinese at a reasonable price. They have increased their prices and decreased their quality. We got general tsos tonight and both my husband and I had more than half of our food inedible. Hard stringy chicken. Will not go back again. read more

We have been coming here for several years. We like the food, the prices, the portions, and the convenience in locale and parking. Our favorite dishes include beef and broccoli, lo mein, sweet and sour chicken, calamari. I admit that some of the younger staff could benefit from better customer service training, but I have found the same issues in most stores including "high end" establishments. Whenever we need to have Chinese food instead of cooking or for entertaining, this is our go to takeout. Give it a try. read more

Basic Chinese food served promptly at a reasonable price. Beef with broccoli, shrimp with vegetables, and soups were all good. Chicken and snow peas was mediocre - and had a few other vegetables thrown in. Tofu with vegetables was very good. This place reminds me of the Chinese restaurants of my youth, right down to the zodiac placemats and hot tea (tea was perfect). read more

It's a simple place, so I'll give a simple review. Just wanted to try a different Chinese place for takeout on the way home. If you want egg rolls and wonton soup, like I do often, this place will do just fine. The lemon chicken I had was decent. Maybe slightly dry, but the flavor was there. My wife did not appreciate it as much as it was too dry for her tastes. The chicken and broccoli, my wife said was good, but not as flavorful as she's used to from other places. I sampled it, and I agree with her assessment. But the place is nice and clean, my online order was ready when I got there, and the food was good enough. Three stars are definitely in order for that. read more

Garden China - the front window of a chinese restaurant - Chinese Near Me - Broomall, Pennsylvania

I'm pretty excited that I finally found some good Chinese food in this area. The funny thing is that I ordered her accidentally thinking it was another Chinese please but I'm glad I did. Located next to the new closed down Wings to Go, this place has the classic cheesy Chinese restaurant interior (which isn't a bad thing in my opinion) and was quiet full for a Wednesday night. I was greeted by two friendly employees and I was back on the road with my food within about a minute. The first thing I noticed was their spring rolls are very small and come in quantities of 4. This intrigued me. They were absolutely delicious and perfectly crispy. The sauce they came in was a little too sweet but paired well with them non the less. I also ordered a pint of pork fried rice which was delicious as well and had a plentiful amount of tender pork. I will be back. read more

Awful. Disgusting food. Owner hung up on me. It's not free delivery they tried to scam me on the phone and say the minimum is 25$ and I went online and there was no minimum. read more

Delish. I get the general tso tofu fried well done and it is oh so good. Deep fried so not healthy but hey some times you need a deep fried dinner . They are always very nice. If You get delivery, it is delivered piping hot. Definitely a plus! Also, try the homemade hot mustard. read more

Love this place the food is great consistent staff is very friendly and courteous would recommend this place to anyone fast and convenient

I like everything I've tried there, which is the best compliment I can pay a place I've frequented over 10 times. Good quality seafood, meats and vegetables are always fresh and crispy. They use a decent quality frying oil and don't seem to over do it. It's never greasy and always feels light, properly cooked and clean on my palate. That said the cooking and flavor is fair but nothing that is going to blow your socks off. It's pretty standard asian fare with a nice selection of seafood and vegetarian dishes. The General Tso and other "spicy" dishes pack a little heat but are fairly mild. I'd suggest asking them to cook it spicy if you are expecting something that's going to do more than heat up your palate. It would be nice if they had combination dinners, they only carry combo lunch platters. The prices are fair for the area. I would also like to see them fix the place up a little but the dining area is clean and adequate. read more

I just got done eating my order of shrimp fried rice and beef in garlic sauce and what a delicious meal I enjoyed. The shrimp in the rice was the size of a jumbo shrimp and the freshness was delightful....... The beef in garlic sauce was also amazing......Reallly tastefull and the amount of sauce was just right! Not to much where it looks Watery or not enough and looking dried up. Kudos to China Garden for satisfying my appetite and my tastebuds! U RULE!!!! read more

Just called them @ 2:45pm to order their lunch special that they have posted on their website (Mon-Sun 11am-3pm), and was told they wouldn't honor it bc they cleaned up earlier. When I told them I had 15 more minutes to order the lunch specials, they hung up on us. Sadly, that's their continued poor service. It's a shame bc there food is decent. Called the other local joint who also has lunch specials till 3 pm and ordered from them. read more

Terrible. Worst place ever. Though the tables were cracked the floors were filthy. And the service was terrible. I still hate it.

The food was not terrible. But they don't give you your moneys worth. You get small portions to go for a lot of money? There are better Chinese restaurants that give you better value in the area. read more

This use to the best chinese food. The yang chow fried rice use to be awesome, made with white rice and fresh meat and veggies, but now it was awful, the rice tasted very old and the peas were wrinkled and awful as well as the rest of the ingredients. We also had house special lomein, old oil taste to it, again tasted very old. The cheese wontons were dry and uneatable, we also had the spring rolls which were grease soaked and simply horrible. Food is minus 5 stars. As well as when I called they wanted me to order an additonal $6 since we lived so far away, after I said I didnt want to order she asked what was closest and when given landmark she agreed to send order out if I added an order of spring rolls. A total of $23 for total crap, they should have paid me.Food will be trashed and never ever again will they get my money!!! read more

Got their lunch special of general tso chicken for take out. The platter was 2/3 fried rice and 1/3 chicken. The chicken's breading was way too fat for the amount of chicken, hence, it was mainly flour. The fried rice horrible, the worst I've eaten, the fried rice had couple flakes of eggs, and 2 or 3 beans. This place is terrible, never go. read more

This place is one of the best local Chinese restaurants. One has to be selective to avoid some of the heavily brown sauced dishes which tend to gum up and over salt and sweeten their dishes. We like to request to be light on brown sauce and that normally leads to better dishes. My favorite are yang chow fried rice, kong pow chicken, Singapore noodles! read more

Pretty good food....the types of dishes i had general tsao (pretty good, a bit spicy but the way i like it), Pu Pu Platter (the best, order one of this and one entree is good for 2 people), seafood delight (light sauce), Pork with string beans (varies, depending on how good the string beans are)....Over all the price is a little more than average but overall good food. read more

We have only done take-out which is why I am only rating with 4 stars. The order is ready upon arrival and completely survived the travel home - nothing soggy or over cooked. We love the egg rolls and shrimp rolls, steamed meat dumplings, all the light sauced seafood dishes, the mei fun, spare ribs etc....so far everything we've ordered has been very enjoyable. We've been searching for an alternative to Margaret Kuo's and have definitely found it. read more
