After watching a movie at the Great Mall, we were craving chinese food for dinner. Yelp reviews led me to China Rose, reviewers said the food is tasty. When we arrived, there were two women playing a game at one table, and a man eating alone. We waited a few minutes, before one of the women, said pick a table. We sat ourselves. The ladies collected their things, one went behind the the counter, the other went in the back. The man later on, got up, and went in the back too. A young man came out with menus, and a hot pot of tea. The young man was friendly. I notice the spout on the tea pot looked black. I thought it was stained. After I served a cup, my son said please don't drink that tea. The young man came back and took our order, he was nice. We ordered Mongolian Beef, Lemon Chicken and Bbq Pork Chow Mein. The service was fast, and the food came out quickly, and we both thought it was tasty, and a good portion of food. Unfortunately, I have photographic evidence of poor food safety. My curiousity got the best of me at the end of our meal, and I used my napkin to rub the blacken tea spout, and it transferred onto the paper napkin. It made me question how clean it was in the back, were the food is handled. We had already eaten our share. The young man was hustling about bagging to-go orders. I got up to pay at the counter, but the young lady did not acknowledge me, she never looked up or made eye contact, and was behaving as if I was not standing in front of her. She actually started pounding on the calculator with her finger, like she was angry. Weird. The young man came out, took the calculator from her, and totalled up my order, never acknowledging her weird behavior. He was so nice, smiling, friendly. The vibe here is so off. Please check out my pictures of the teapot. The next day my tummy was fine, no sign of food contamination, but I will not eat here again.

I'd rate this a 3.5, but rounding up because the food was decent overall. BEEF FRIED RICE: Lots of wok hei and good flavor! They actually mince the beef, which I have never seen before but it makes so much more sense because the meat was seasoned well and each bite would likely have protein scooped with it. CHICKEN CHOW MEIN: Also had wok hei, however the ratio of veggies to noodles was disappointing. Otherwise, this would have been a winner too. SALT AND PEPPER FISH: The portion was a little smaller than we're used to from other establishments and a little over fried, but still not too bad. DRY SAUTEED STRING BEANS: I can't put my finger on the flavor, might be a little bit of Szechuan pepper as well as minced pork, but it was a nice change from regular garlic. Husband liked this a lot. Their food is a tad oily, but their flavors are good overall. We ordered for takeout and they were friendly upon pickup. Will return when we're in the area and craving Chinese.

This has been my go-to Chinese spot in Milpitas. The food is consistently excellent, and the restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating and ample parking. I usually place my orders by phone, and they're always punctual never had any issues. My favorite dishes are the broccoli with garlic and the shrimp fried with eggs. Highly recommend!

I continue to order from here.... Imperial spare ribs: bomb Scallops and minced meat in steamed egg: bomb Chicken with sizzling Rice soup: bomb Golden egg yolk scallops: just ok Shanghai sweet sour spareribs: bomb Coffee ribs: bomb Honestly there's not many authentic Chinese places where you can get 3 items and have it land $30-40 including seafood. The food is tasty and value can't be beat

Good Chinese food in Milpitas! My party of four was promptly seated by the friendly waitress, and we didn't wait long for our food. The food came out great, with shareable portions. We'd especially recommend the mongolian beef and ma po tofu. 100% coming back to this spot!

Disappointment with the small portion of the honey walnut shrimp that was ordered. The fried vermicelli is missing as well as only 3 pieces of walnut were found. The price of this dish is $16.95 and it's not worth it with what's presented.

Excellent Claypot rice with salted fish & meat patty. Best in South Bay. The lotus Chinese cucumber veggie dish was above average. Prices are extremely reasonable. It's a family run restaurant with very friendly wait staffs.

I know it's cheap but this is really the worst chow fun I ever have in my life, it has no taste and the noodles just sad.

The Chinese sausage pieces sprinkled throughout added extra flavor too. The bowl is deep so there seemed to be roughly 5 cups of rice. Unfortunately the laksa shrimp fried rice was disappointing in comparison. It didn't have much flavor overall - better than plain rice but definitely needed more seasoning. The menu lists homemade laksa sauce as an ingredient but we didn't taste that, and the dish wasn't spicy at all either despite the 1 chili pepper rating. But it looked just like the menu picture so maybe the description is wrong. Fried chicken with tom yum sauce came with 6 pieces. Very juicy. We also enjoyed the herbal roasted prime steak with sausage rice. The delicious rice had the taste of fish sauce. Most of the short rib slices were soft and a few were slightly chewy but overall decent quality. Some of the fattier pieces of meat were still attached to the bone.

It's a good thing we did because the restaurant filled up completely 5 minutes after ordering. The inside of the restaurant is clean and modern, they have some art up on the wall that was cool to look at. The food was definitely the star though. We tried the BBQ pork and shrimp noodle rolls. Both were really good but my favorite was still the shrimp. I loved the veggies in the roll too. They can be a bit hard to pick up and eat because they're massive and cut into thirds. Other than that, the rice noodles are thin and silky and hold the sauce nicely. The sauce is also delicious. We also ordered the fish congee which was simple but comforting. It comes out PIPING hot so don't burn your tongue. Fish was tender and flavorful. Overall no complaints and the service was quick. Highly recommend!

A waiter told me they don't take credit cards when I was trying to pay. I was like, okay, maybe I should have done more research before I went there. So I tried to talk to him to see if there's any other options, like Zelle or Venmo, or maybe I can go to a nearby ATM and get some cash. He ignored me and did not respond, and left. I walked around, was finally able to get a waitress who was willing to talk to me. I explained that I didn't know they only took cash and I wonder if I can pay through other ways. She pointed at the wall and told me "it says on the wall", sounding like blaming me for not getting cash ready. Yes, maybe I should have read all the signs on the wall, but I really don't enjoy being blamed when I did nothing wrong. Assuming credit cards as one of the payment methods is not my fault, just how the society works. Anyway, I was able to pay them via Venmo, but I did not enjoy the experience at all.
