Vegetable Lo Mein
Carissa B.

Oh how happy we were to finally find a Chinese takeout spot that reminded us of home. If you miss Chinese food from the east coast, try it out! The restaurant is a whole in the wall kind of spot, definitely what we are used to. The pork fried rice was delicious. Flavorful and fluffy, so good I could eat it as an entire meal. We had the chicken with broccoli, the brown sauce was spot on. Broccoli was crunchy, just how I like it. The vegetable lo mein was good, had lots of vegetables and plenty of noodles. Love the baby corn and water chestnuts as an added crunch. At first the boneless spareribs threw us off, they had a little more sauce than we expected. Would absolutely get them again, more meat and less fat just how I like it. We got an order of crab ragoons for free since our order was over a certain amount. Absolutely delicious. Fried, crispy, and a good amount of filling. Definitely coming back.

8 Cheese Wontons

Wow this place really is the best chinese takeout i've come across. I ordered the general tso chicken special and it came with SO MUCH chicken. I barely ate half the box, I feel like this is a great sharing size for a couple people. It's marked as spicy on their menu but it's definitely not. I also ordered the cheese wontons. They were huge and filled with lots of filling. Also could not finish all 8 of them. Seems like this place is only open to takeout orders. I ordered at the store and waited less than 7 minutes for them to come out with my food. I would definitely consider ordering and picking up your food instead of using doordash as their prices are higher with these services. I'm really intrigued by their szechuan dishes and will definitely try those next.

I really love the look of their menu , it's so cool and fun to look at . The food is good overall…read more It may not be the best Chinese restaurant I've tried, but it's definitely not bad at all. I especially enjoyed the beef skewers ,they're my favorite dish here. The orange chicken is tasty too. The desserts were just okay, they look fun and cute, but the flavors were a bit simple for my taste. The staff are very nice, friendly, and quick, which made the experience even better. The restaurant is a little old, but it's still clean and comfortable. Overall, it was a nice place to try , I always enjoy exploring new spots and gaining new experiences

Not my favorite spot for Szechuan!…read more The waitress's rec for my friend who really wanted something Szechuan spicy was not spicy at all - tasted like it was spiced with red pepper flakes and some other hot sauce that just seemed really greasy. We also asked for more bok choy since there was only 2 pieces in the whole dish and they charged us $2 for that. I didn't think that was very fair. When asking for water, be sure to be ready to pay for bottled because they don't serve tap. You must buy a beverage. Overall the squid was tasty and crispy, my delights were satisfied by the novelty items like having dragons breath in a decorated dragon den, and at night this place has been a treat to be in (bustling with students coming for the lights and other novelty plushies/labubu's and holographic decor) but this would not be my first choice to bring family to for an authentic experience.

They make them fresh and perfect. Crispy on the outside with nice veggies on the inside. They give you a sweet-and-sour sauce to go with it. They were very good. Shared parking outside.

Heng's Kitchen is located at the very left of the food court of Mekong Plaza. I met up with a…read morefriend and her husband, and my main goal was to satisfy my XLB craving! Order at the cashier, grab a number, and food will be served to you. Needless to say, I ordered the 4. Shanghai pork mini soup dumplings which were $10.25 for 6 dumplings. I would've loved less dough, more soup, overall bigger portion size (larger dumplings or more of them). Otherwise, the soup itself was tasty. We also ordered the 14. Chongqing Fried Spicy Chicken $13.95, which was a platter of boneless chicken and peppers. I was very impressed with the crisp exterior but soft/juicy interior of the chicken. I'm not usually a spice person, but I was left feeling tingly but not in pain and not numb. Overall I found Heng's Kitchen to be disproportionately pricey given the taste and portion sizes. I'm pretty critical and discerning about my XLB, and this place did not totally satisfy my craving, although I was pleasantly surprised about the chicken. Note: rice is not included with any dish and is $1 extra. Free room-temperature self-serve water available.

Had lunch here and it was about a 10 min wait to get in. There is an iPad at the front door to put…read moreyour name on the wait list. Small footprint in the Mekong Plaza. Ordered the pork and chives dumplings, XLB, and Beef chow fun. Service was expedient and waters were already preset on the table. There was a QR code on the table that allowed you to order online or if you waited a few more minutes, server will come over and take your order. All of our food came fast... within about 10-15 min. Chow fun had the wok hay ( wok air that makes food taste good) and thick slices of velveted beef slices. Pork and chive dumpling and XLB were juicy and moist and delicious with the ginger black vinegar chili oil sauce. I really like the food here and staff moves fast. Great place for a quick lunch.

Great little dumpling place!…read more The place is small, with limited seating, so be prepared to wait a little, though we didn't wait long! Maybe 20 minutes? The staff was all really friendly which surprised me because I swear they never stopped! They were busy but still kind and attentive! We ordered the spicy dumplings and the Hong Kong Fried Rice! The Boas were good, but the dough was a little thicker than I'm used to. So I felt full rather quickly! The fried rice however, 10/10 NO NOTES!!! Best fried rice I think I've ever had!! Totally worth the drive. Will be back for sure!!
