We hadn't been to a Chili's in many years so we thought we would give it a try . Our arrival was not the warm welcoming experience that you would like, instead the host and hostess could not decide were to seat us (so many choices and so many dirty tables!). Finally we were seated (the table top was wet enough to float a battleship). Our server was very friendly and she brought us a basket of greasy chips and watery salsa. Neither were tasty so we sent them back. My wife ordered the Chipotle Chicken Fresh Mex Bowl and I ordered the Quesadilla Explosion Salad. Both looked terrific on the menu pictures and the descriptions sounded marvelous. The execution was not as marvelous. the Chipotle bowl was a meager portion that was flavorful but definitely not worth the price. The Quesadilla salad was served on a flat plate with greasy fried tacos chips coated with melted cheese (not the soft , plumb cheese -filled goodness that was pictured on the menu) surrounding the lettuce and chicken salad. The dressing bland and overall the salad was not worth the price. No we didn't speak to a manager of complain. Why you ask? We decided it wasn't worth it. Chili's is a Dallas Texas based chain and if they can't figure out how to consistently prepare and serve terrific Tex-Mex food then our opinion would have little impact on the product. Sorry to say, in the future we will dine at other local Tex-Mex restaurants that do consistently serve great food at a good value.

Waitress was one of the sweetest and funniest people I've ever met. Multi tasked so much but still had a great big smile.

Cheddar's -- A Family Favorite Worth Returning For!…read more This was such a great spot to spend time with family! We came in as a party of nine, and the service was absolutely fantastic. I'm not sure if it was because we went on a Friday for lunch or if their service is always this quick, but everything moved smoothly and efficiently. One waiter, in particular (I wish I had caught his name), was excellent -- attentive, gracious, and clearly proud of his work. Let's Talk About the Food! We started with the croissants and honey butter, and let me tell you -- they were amazing! I would come back to Texas just to have those again. Even after we'd let them sit for a bit, our waiter surprised us by bringing another heated plate, fresh and drizzled with that golden honey butter. It was such a thoughtful touch! For my main dish, I had the steak with broccoli casserole. The casserole brought back memories of my grandmother's recipe -- warm, cheesy, and full of flavor. It felt like a little bite of home. The steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly, and my tablemates couldn't stop talking about the ribs and green beans, which are must-tries if you go. Atmosphere & Overall Experience Since we came during a slower time, the restaurant was mostly empty, so I can't comment too much on the full dining atmosphere. But based on what my family (who are regulars) shared, it's always a friendly, family-oriented environment -- the kind of place where you can relax, laugh, and enjoy good food together. If you're ever near a Cheddar's, definitely check it out for yourself. Leave a review and let me know what your favorite part of the meal was -- but don't skip those croissants! They're worth the trip alone.

Most definitely, but what food spot hasn't had a raise in prices mixed with a decline in portion sizes? Is the service pretty much the same? Yup! Nothing new to report here. We walked in during a busy breakfast rush, but there were still plenty of open tables. Once we reached the front of the line, the young lady behind the counter greeted us right away, took our order, and handed us our cups. The drink station was clean and stocked with a good selection. We grabbed a table--both the tables and floors were clean--and within about 10 minutes our food arrived. I ordered the French Toast Combo, which came with four slices of French toast, two eggs, sausage, and seasoned potatoes. The meal came out on two plates, and everything was spot on. The French toast had a perfect light crunch on the outside while staying pillowy soft inside. The scrambled eggs and sausage were solid, and the seasoned potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft inside. My wife ordered the Breakfast BLT--bacon, lettuce, tomato, fried egg, and Duke's mayo. She added a little hot sauce and absolutely loved it. Not a crumb left! She liked it so much that we also picked up a tub of their chicken salad to take home, and it was delicious later that day--no complaints at all. We'll definitely be back to Roost to try more of their menu!

I'm not sure how this place became the tradition, but whatever. Dad seems to like it, and that is all that matters. Cracker Barrel is just this side of awful. Yes, the folks here are kind and the service is OK, but ... meh. It's no different than any other Cracker Barrel in that the food is marginal and the atmosphere is way too kitschy. Pancakes here are anything but fluffy. Sure, one of them had some crispy edge going on, which was decent. The other pancake seemed like an afterthought. They did an OK job on the scrambled eggs, but the rest? The breakfast sausage here is grainier than beach sand stuck to toast, and (all) the breakfast meats -- particularly the ham -- are saltier than the Black Sea. I know people raised hell when this company tried to simplify the logo, but they really should be up in arms about the way-overpriced stuff that is served here. IHOP dominates this place in every way, including not having to browse through a cheesy store on the way in and out.

The Tex-Mex options here involve your normies such as enchiladas, quesadillas, burritos, fajitas, nachos, and tacos. All of these (or a combination of these) are part of the express lunch menu which is what we usually order. Most of the time, people in our group get some sort of enchiladas with the favorites being the avocado or the verde due to the sauces and cheesiness mixed in. The avocado is probably my favorite since I'm an avocado lover with the taste and texture. Other favorites are the street tacos where it comes with three tacos and the rice and beans. These tacos are quite large so it's not the traditional mexican street tacos with the onions/cilantro on the miniature tortillas. They are also packed and I mean PACKED with proteins; I've only gotten the al pastor cause I keep coming back to it. Something about it that makes it addicting with the tenderness of the meat and spices. We'll have to try dinner here sometime cause they have quite the selection of entrees such as the drunken shrimp, fajita platter, and pollo poblano. Bueno Trabajo Herraduras!
