Everything we had was fantastic. The burgers are a three napkin masterpiece, the steak fingers were nice thick pieces of super tender steak in a tasty batter, and the munchers are the perfect marriage of a tater tots and a fried jalapeno. Trip number three to Mom s diner and this time a grilled cheese sandwich and fries. It is hard to say a grilled cheese is a big deal but it is better than if I made it at home. You can get one of the three best hamburgers in town. The chicken fried steak is almost as good as mine. I love the chicken fried chicken salad that is huge. We just had the BEST experience here. The food was absolutely amazing and you can definitely tell it's all fresh and not frozen. The service was absolutely phenomenal, Maddie in the front really made this visit special for us. You can definitely tell she loves her job, she went out of her way several times to make sure we had anything and everything we needed. The restaurant itself is so cute and has the best atmosphere, we live about an hour and a half away but will definitely be making the drive to come eat here more often. 10/10 experience all around!!! read more

Doesn't look like much from the outside. Park in the back, the entrance is on the back of the building. Was very surprised at how nice the interior was. It's an order at the counter and they call your number. The food was prepared quickly and was excellent. We ordered chicken finger basket, cheese burger with tater tots, fish sandwich and the mushroom swiss burger. All four of us loved the food. Wished we lived in Lufkin, was visiting from Houston and highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Awesome. A restaurant that actually lives up to its reviews! Good, old-fashioned style hamburger. Lots of sizes, toppings, and styles. Good ground beef, hand shaped. Fresh veggies. We were made welcome from the moment we entered. The young lady at the order counter could tell we had not been there before, so she explained all the burger options. ( they have other things on the menu, but we were there for burgers. ) The building is unimpressive, but very clean and welcoming. The prices are reasonable. Just a comment-the pies looked homemade and delicious, but we weren't hungry for a piece after we had finished the burger. Will have to go next time we're passing through at lunchtime, and eat a "Baby " burger so we can have a piece. read more

This place has been on my radar for a while and I thought they were only open weekdays. Living in Houston made it hard to visit, but alas, they're actually open Saturdays too, from 11-7. They serve burgers, sandwiches, salads, and a few dinners. Pies are available at the register in a cold case, which seemed to be mostly meringue pie slices. Service is very friendly and the same lady that was my cashier also delivered the food to the table and was super nice, something you rarely see in the big city. I ordered the "Mom's Monster II", with a side of the munchers, and a tea. Munchers are basically tater tots or hash browns with cheese sauce and bits of jalapenos and then deep fried to resemble something like baby carrots. These seemed to be previously frozen and probably not homemade, but were good and filling. The burger itself is pretty good, hand-formed and has two patties totaling about 2/3 lb. Supposedly the regular burger and "Mom's Monster I" are 1/3 lb each (1 patty) while the baby burger is only 1/4 lb. I didn't really see the benefit of getting extra veggies and extra cheese on the Monster II. If I ordered a burger again, I'd do the double bacon burger with mustard, no mayo for $0.40 more. Overall, the burger was good, and I like mayo, but I thought it had way too much on it. My colleague also commented that his turkey cheeseburger had an extra amount of mayo, or whatever they use. It seemed more like sandwich spread than mayo, either way, someone had a heavy hand that day. Next time I come back, which will probably be on a weekend, I'll try the homemade cfs dinner. read more

Traveling through Lufkin today and had lunch at Mom's. Food is excellent, service is very friendly, and the location is a neat burger place. Wife had a baby burger and I had the regular size burger. I'll have to say it was one of the best burgers I've had in years. I would eat here at least once a week if I lived close by. I intended to get a cheeseburger, but man, I really like chicken-fried steak. Have had many over the years. This cfs was up there. The fresh beef had a crust that stayed put and was crispy. Béchamel was very good. You get to add two sides. Next time, I will get the cheeseburger. I saw a man with one, probably one of the monster ones. We finally tried this place out on a Monday afternoon. They were not busy at all in fact they looked closed, but they weren't and I'm sure glad we checked! I got the Patty Melt with Tator Tots and Hubby got The Mom #2 with Spicy Fries. You can tell they hand form the patties here. They are loose with so much flavor. The sides were both super crispy and seasoned well. Everything came out in about 5 minutes after we ordered from the counter. This will be our go to burger place from now on! read more
