I asked me wife where she wanted to eat and a miracle happened. My wife actually told me that she wanted steak and she wanted us to drive to Logan's Roadhouse in Lufkin, TX. With that level of clarity in a response, I hopped in the vehicle quickly before doubt set into her cranium. My expectations were not high going to a national chain steakhouse. We are seated and I slowly changed my perception of the place. I know I give long reviews, so let me give you an abridged version: Heather, our server, was super attentive and not a bother at the same time. That's a true skill. She paid attention and got everything correct the first time. My frugal meter was pleased. They actually have specials. I enjoyed an 8 ounce steak, 2 sides, and a ccarbonated beverage for $15. The chef got my medium steak correct PLUS it was seasoned! I did not need the offered steak sauce that they carry. The cheesecake slice was huge. Finally someone did dessert properly. I'll be back. The manager told me they will have an apple blueberry cobbler starting next week. Yes, the manager stopped by and had a chat with us. They have a variety of country type music playing throughout the place...along with many televisions around the bar area. I'll be back. My frugal meter is okay with this place. read more

Food was really really bad. My salad had nothing green and lots of brown. The shrimp trio was overcooked and it was like chewing a tire. The popcorn shrimp was lower quality than what I can buy at Wal Mart. Our server was pleasant, but that was the only nice thing. Two days later we heard they were permanently closed. Ordered dinner tonight *fathers day* i understand restaurants are busy but that does not excuse when i spend $100 on dinner that everyone these days work very hard for! Yes the staff included but take pride in what you do slow down and be a few extra seconds late to that other refill and double check your orders not only did i get literally just a baked potato no fixing i also did not receive my sweet potato at all! The steak i paid for was charred to much tasted more like grill than steak the rolls were not fresh i mean had to been at least an 1-2 hours old and to top of it off for the love of god please state that your zucchini is PICKLED!! We've been going there at least once or twice a month since moving to Lufkin. Today may change that. We were seated on the far (forgotten) side of the restaurant. After 20 minutes of sitting while we waited for the appetizer and drink refill, Hubs did a walk-around and noticed only 4 tables were occupied. The appetizer and drink refill arrived with the food. My salad arrived without dressing and again my husband had to go find someone (all four front of the house just standing at the hostess booth.) The steak on my salad was overly salted and the lettuce not only looked wilted, it tasted and smelled spoiled, something the kitchen would have been well aware of as they covered it in toppings. After we had packaged my husband's food to take home, the manager did offer to get me a new salad but really, who would want to wait another half hour for that??? read more

Lufkin - Sunday 04/13/25 I would just like to inform you, we stopped into Logan's Roadhouse tonight for a quick bite to eat. I had to walk up to Kendra and ask for service, she told me she would get a manager (not sure what the host was doing). we got sat in Kendra's section. Kendra was very efficient, Jovial and very attentative to us. Ok so I usually rave about Logan's. It's my absolute favorite restaurant in Lufkin. Their steak is amazing. I decided to stop today 4/3/25 at about 2:15 pm. There was not a soul in the place. After a few minutes a young man came and sat me in a booth and said my server would be right with me. I sat there for 15+ minutes and never saw a single person. I even got up and walked around looking for someone..anyone.. and it was crickets! I am so highly disappointed . I got up and left. I sure hope this was just a fluke as ai would be sad to not patronize this establishment. read more

My husband and I stopped to eat dinner yesterday. Service was great, but the food was horrible! We both ordered ribeyes, they had no flavor and my ribeye was an end cut! I have had 2 of these over the yrs from Logan's and both have been horrible cuts! I won't ever except another cut from any restaurant ever again! To pay 30.00 for something you cannot enjoy is disheartening. Our order of mushrooms came out the first time without any breading on them!! The second time they tasted like seafood! Everything from the perfectly cooked New York Strip to the delicious cocktails and Jeffrey who kindly waited our table were top-notch. Very reasonably priced as well. Logan's Roadhouse offers a $12.99 Wednesday Steak Dinner. They charge anywhere from $0.99 to $1.29 extra on sides that are normally free and an extra $0.99 for the premium sides that are usually $1.29 bringing them to $2.28. After adding the extra charges, I am not even certain that the price is not more than it usually is. Logan's does not tell you ahead of time what the charges will be either. I stopped eating there for 2 years before giving them another chance at my business. I believe that the management is too stupid to know what they are doing to Logan's bottom line by stealing the extra money. I view it as deceptive. Rather than sue them, many like myself will avoid them. Steak is not even my favorite, and the steak was tough to me . I would have paid more and got crab cakes or something else that I like better if I had known the true cost. On the bright side, the server was great. She apologized for the price, but it was not her fault. Personally, I would ditch a discount that could even appear shady. read more

Every time I come here I say I'm not coming back. I only came today because they were literally the only place in town that was open. I give them credit because of the recent ice storm & not having a full menu. We were told we couldn't have bread because they were out. The table next to us came after and immediately got bread. They also ordered a hamburger that we were told was out. The table on the other side of us got broccoli which we were told was also out. My child couldn't order popcorn shrimp but the table next to us got some. My husband ordered a draft beer that was literally 2/3 foam. I didn't order a baked potato but I got a large piece of someone else's potato peel on my plate. My medium well chopped steak was so burned it was inedible. Not sure if our server was lying or just lazy. I'll get crackers from the gas station next time. read more

Logan's Roadhouse - Entire plate of food.. - Steakhouses Near Me - Lufkin, Texas

This chain is very similar to Texas Roadhouse, since they were previously the same owners. They don't have the display case of steaks out front when you walk in, and also don't have 2 versions of butter for the bread. In fact, they serve pillowy yeast rolls, whereas TX Roadhouse serves rolls that are smaller and much more firm. Oh well, who cares about the differences. I came to this location because I was taking a client out to lunch. This isn't exactly the best restaurant in town, but it's better than fast food for sure. Their service just downright sucked the entire time. First, when we arrived, they had a problem seating us in the main dining area, not because it was busy, so they sat us in the bar area. We waited nearly 10 minutes before we were able to finally flag down not a server, but the bartender! She went to a server to let her know we needed to order drinks, but that server was too busy, so she dumped us back off to the poor bartender. She managed to get our meal order taken eventally, and another kitchen staff brought out the food. When it came time to pay, it took a while again, and I finally just took the bill up to the bar and let her ring us up from there. The food was alright, my clients both enjoyed their wedge salads and 6oz sirloin steaks, but maybe I just come from a larger city with much better food and higher expectations. My ribeye was cooked to order, but it was just poor quality beef, and tasted like select beef, not even choice. Definitely not prime. The steak was heavily seasoned with some salty blend of spices. The baked potato was alright, but they only give u bacon bits, sour cream and cheese, no onion, butter or chives. If you claim that to be loaded, you are mistaken. I also ordered the $4 flavored tea (strawberry) in a large mason jar. This comes with a lid and band, not sure why. I originally thought it was a souvenir jar to take home since they give you the full setup. No free refills of course. It was good, but very sweet! I doubt I will be back to a Logan's anytime soon, but I'd probably still choose this over Chili's. read more
