We tried a variety of shareables: GENTLEMEN'S BOARD FIG & PROSCIUTTO CROSTINI BROWN BUTTER SCALLOPS & ROASTED GARLIC DIP! Everything was delicious. Our server Brandon went above and beyond to accommodate our party of eight. He made it an extraordinary experience. Wonderful service! We polished off our night with entertainment by Lyle Lovett at the Temple Theater. Thanks again to The Mill House!!

My husband and I set out to try a new place for date night. The Mill House did not disappoint. They have a pretty good wine list and we enjoyed a red wine called Conundrum. He had the rib eye and I had filet mignon with a garlic sauce. Was a wonderful dining experience overall and will definitely go back in the future!

My wife ordered the Mill House Pasta, which was rich, cheesy, and full of flavor, with perfectly cooked chicken and shrimp.

My first impression of this place was not a positive one. Two stars only because the Manager and…read morethe Host did their best to resolve what was a mess of a dining experience. The primary issue was the food quality. My brother and I got separate orders of mixed Fajitas. The shrimp turned out fine, good in fact, but the chicken was dry and overcooked and the beef was somehow worse. The beef fajitas specifically charred and inedible. The portion size for the price you pay was a tad high. Mixed Fajitas (chicken and beef) for one at other restaurants give you more than two slices of each meat. The fajita plate doesn't include cheese or sour cream; if you enjoy that it's extra. Just before the food came out, a sopping wet ceiling tile and blown-in insulation fell from the ceiling. Pieces of insulation made it into nearby tables (including ours) and into drinks. The mess was quickly resolved. Mess cleaned up. Drinks replaced. Tables wiped down. But the AC had to be turned off because the line continued to leak over the bar. This was an accident and doesn't reflect poorly on the service, but it added to the overall first impression being less than ideal. There were several miscommunications with the waiter. He got two of our orders wrong. The manager had to come over and solve one because he didn't understand the request to substitute yellow American cheese for white Monterey Jack cheese. The manager resolved this and the enchiladas were very good after it was corrected. My SIL ordered a queso flameado with chicken, but the waiter brought out one with beef instead. The beef on this dish was also incredibly dry and inedible.. Even after pointing out the mistake and fixing it with the correct order the waiter charged for the beef. Upon trying to get the bill corrected, the waiter didn't give the correct cash back and the Host had to resolve the issue. Overall impression: not a place I'll return to anytime soon.

Later I asked for another, and that's when I was told it's $1 per bowl. I declined and told her I wouldn't have ordered the first one had I known there was a charge. I assumed they'd use a little common sense and not charge me for something I was never told cost extra -- but they did. I spoke with a woman in a blue shirt at the counter (who appeared to be a manager) and told her that this $1 bowl of green sauce earned them a one-star review because of the hidden fee. She refused to give me her name, though she had no problem giving me someone else's when I asked for a manager's contact. To be honest, the food isn't great anyway. I won't be back -- all over a dollar and the principle behind it. They must have really needed that dollar, because they chose this review instead of simply not taking it from me.

My friend and my girlfriend both ordered their espresso martini that my friend claimed was the best espresso martini in town, while I got the bartender's recommendation of the Animal Style, a pineapple and jalapeño infused tequila with strawberries, cardamom bitters, and a lemon peel garnish. Normally, I hate any drink that is spicy. I cannot stand a Bloody Mary because I don't believe drinks should be allowed to be spicy, but this one, for having jalapeño, is not spicy at all. If anything, it's slightly savory with its tropical flavor. The bartender was great. They have appetizers and tapas as well and as my girlfriend sat down, she really wanted just one of their fresh oysters. I ordered her just one to try and it was $4.25. They gave us the smallest one they could find. The tiniest oyster of all time. I guess size really didn't matter because according to her it was very good. I would go back and have a few more cocktails, but it is a nice place to hang out on the square on a Friday night. A good time to be had by all. RIYL: The finest, most $15ish cocktail you can find.
