My wife and I stopped by for dinner. The restaurant was very clean and not crowded so it was very quiet. We ordered a New Yorker and a Turkey BLT. Both of us got side salads. Service was excellent. We wanted hot coffee but at this location, they only serve hot coffee for catering. Food was fresh and delicious. We certainly enjoyed ourselves and will be back. read more

My husband and I decided to try McAlisters for lunch together. I ordered the club sandwich with fruit and a chocolate cookie. I also got a strawberry tea, which I should have gotten the tea unsweetened then had them add the strawberry because it was super sweet. The tables were dirty which is why I deducted a star. I had to take napkins and spread them out because it was dried mustard or something spilled all over the table that needed to be scrubbed with a washcloth. Also the floors had food. The pricing was a bit dramatic for what we got. It was $30 for two people ordering sandwiches. They were good but the portion wasn't that big honestly. All in all, not bad! read more

This time I had the Savannah Chopped Salad. It was very good! The ingredients always taste so fresh! I ordered ahead and picked up in the drive-thru. It was just me-so no wait! I wish the girl who kinda just tossed me my food was a little nicer-but overall 5 stars!! read more

Clean. Great food. Great service. Enjoyable atmosphere. Portions huge so i take the rest home for another meal.

The food was great. The big ice tea lemonade I had was really good . I had the grilled chicken sandwich. I'm coming back !!!

Went for a quick dinner and it was not busy, yet the cashier didn't say hi didn't smile nothing just said are you going to order? So I ordered the French dip sandwich and all she said was, side? And I asked do you have a soup of the day? She pointed to a sign that showed all the soup and just gave me a look like I was dumb, then all she could say is anything else, there was 3 of us and that's all we heard "anything else" and when my son was ordering he said what sandwhich he wanted and he was saying no mustard please and she cut him off and said "SIDE", and then again "anything else", then she said card or cash and I was like how much is it ? And with a dry annoyed voice she said the price, so I asked her can you be any ruder ??? When the food was brought to table she stated what they were ( except mine ) and walked away. My son sandwich had mustard on it so I took it up there and the manger was up there to and the girl was standing with another employee and she was talking about me. So I called her out "yes that is what I said to you because you are rude!!! " and she said how am I rude cause I took your order? and I told her why she was rude!!! The whole time manger is right there. He did take the sandwhich and got it fixed and he brought it out and apologized for the mustard and the employee, the whole time we where there we could hear her talking about us !!! Most uncomfortable, horrible experience. WE WiILL NEVER GO BACk. Funny thing is 5 years ago I made a review cause of the food and have only been in there 3 times since, after last night even tho the food was good. Like I said we will NEVER GO BACK Customer service is a joke!!!! And out of the 6 other customers in there you could tell they might agree. The only reason I gave you star is cause the food was good. I get madder every time I think about it. It was our 19th wedding anniversary and my husband wanted to go out to eat but I was exhausted just got off a long work shift at hospital and I was exhausted so instead of going to a restaurant he suggested let's go to subway (because I love subway) and I said let's go to McAlister so we can eat inside and have a nice little quick meal and then we get treated like this what a disgrace, we should have gone with his suggestion, and really I should have returned the food and got a refund. Food is always hot and cooked after being ordered. Service is good. You may need to wait a few minutes to order depending upon the time you arrive. Drinks are pricey but food prices are reasonable. The restaurant atmosphere is usually quiet with a few people chattering. We stop at this restaurant about twice a month. read more

This was my first time dinning at a McAlister's Deli. The atmosphere nice. Bright and Clean with what I found as very pleasant contemporary music selection. I went up to order at the counter and there was the option of dine in or take out. I was immediately greeted and helped with my order. I thought that they have a good size menu of Salad's, Sandwich's, and Spuds. I decided to have a French Dip Sandwich with a side of Mac-N-Cheese. I got the Black Berry Tea for my beverage. They gave me the tea, the chocolate chip cookie I got for desert and a order number to display at the table so they can bring me my sandwich. The tea was very tasty and they were fast bring my the French Dip Sandwich. The sandwich was great the term Big and Bold did for me describe it. Plenty of meat and a tasty bun with a cup of dipping broth. The cookie was ok but not some I would get again. read more

Light, clean, efficient, appealing without being pretentious. Thats a good start. Pleasant sTaff, upbeat music. Good wi-fi. Overall, they are pretty good. Nothing spectacular but for a small in east Texas healthier than most fast food chains. Also, they didn't have a drive through but their service was just as quick and they have a much better menu. 5 or 6 soups to choose from, lots of sandwiches and choices that were not breaded and fried. I had a French dip sandwich and my wife had chicken tortilla soup which was delicious. Give them a try-- I can recommend them. read more

Food was good...what I got of it anyways. And it's my fault for not checking the bag but it was pretty heavy so I assumed it was all there. But it was not. I ordered the Memphis sandwich and a black angus baked potato. When I get back to my house (an hour away) I found my dinner missing. Thank goodness my hubby shared some of his sandwich with me. Plus I actually paid for both items as my total was over $35 which is a lot for one sandwich! It was a tasty sandwich but I really wanted that potato. read more

The food is always good and the employees are friendly! I gave four stars instead of five because I often have to double check my mobile orders to make sure they are correct. I think management could make a few changes to how their to go orders get expedited. Also, give employees a raise. They deserve it. read more

Purchased the Italian Sub a month ago and it was perfect, today not so much. The Black Forest Ham was all clumped, not separated like it should be and there wasn't much flavor like before - I believe the oil and vinegar was missing. The sandwich fell apart when I took my first bite. The Four Cheese Melt was ok but the bread was hard. The last issue is this was a "to-go" meal and the person that took the order asked if I wanted to add a tip to my credit card - If I am going to tip it will be when I'm actually sitting at a table and being served. read more

Honestly guys, you can do better. I eat here often but tonight I got ripped off... The left half of my $10 sandwich didn't even have meat (turkey, bacon or chips)... Other half had a glob of nuked bacon, burned in the center. Manager your people need training. Whoever made this should be embarrassed. If you're going to make a lazy sandwich, at least make sure all the ingredients are there. Although I love this sandwich, I've had to make a habit of buying an extra bag of chips because, as you can see, there's hardly anything there. Check# 120713 read more

McAlisters Deli in Lufkin rocks! The food is always delicious and not to mention their cookies! They have a variety of cookies to choose from including my favorite, Heath Cookie, which has bits of heath bar in it. Out of all the times I've eaten there I have only had a minor problem once (it had nothing to do with my order being wrong or anything wrong with the quality of my food) but they 100% were on the ball with fixing it. If you're hungry, go to McAlisters. You won't be disappointed! read more

Same order three years later. Totally better. Still clean and friendly. Updated from 3-5 stars.

I ordered the southwest chicken salad, they served me a plate of rotten lettuce so I sent it back for a fresh one. Second time around they served me another plate of rotten lettuce! My daughter got a kids Mac n cheese with a fruit cup. The Mac n cheese tasted old and they served her rotten fruit as well. It was very visible so I don't know how they didn't see that it was rotten and decided to serve it anyways. To my child!! Had a server argue with me that their produce was very fresh and it was unlikely that it was rotten. But not only did they serve my child rotten fruit but served me rotten lettuce TWICE!! Never again will I come here. Their food is not fresh AT ALL! My meal was completely refunded but they had zero guilt for what they chose to serve me they made it seem like I was being an inconvenience. This place SUCKS! read more

Absolutely fabulous sandwiches and baked potatoes! Don't forget the ice tea! This was a hidden gem in Lufkin. I'm here for work and it's within walking distance from my hotel. Great addition to Lufkin. Staff have been trained well. Menu options are good and always quality food. I was disappointed the Chef salad didn't have boiled eggs or purple onions as most Chef Salads do or at least mine did not . read more

Today was our first time to try the McAlister's Deli in Lufkin. The three of us arrived during the lunch hour. It was very crowded but we managed to score a table. We each ordered the "choose two option", with 1/2 sandwich and a cup of soup. My husband was shocked at how small the portions were. In truth, it looked like a child's plate. There was a small amount of chicken salad on a very small 1/2 of a croissant. The cup of soup was a very small serving of vegetable soup, but was more "broth" than soup and had little substance. I ordered the same. My daughter ordered 1/2 garden turkey on multigrain bread with chicken tortilla soup. Her 1/2 sandwich had more substance than ours. She also received a side of tortilla chips. We were given a couple of packages of crackers which we did not really want. Along with a $2.50 cup of tea each, our meals were about $10 each. Not an unreasonable price for a decent sized lunch (which we did not think we received). Nevertheless, the food was good, just not very filling. Of note, we really enjoy another deli just down the street and also relatively new to Lufkin. There, we also order a similar option as "choose two" with 1/2 sandwich and a cup of soup (that actually comes in a bowl). We spend just as much and a little more (about a $1) there but get almost twice the amount of food, sometimes taking home a "doggie bag" of any unfinished bites. This is not the first time we have been disappointed at a McAlister's (Tyler and Longview) at the amount of food served and it's price. read more

This McAllister's Deli just opened up in Lufkin and I just knew I had to go and try it as soon as possible. Since it has just opened up it is very busy, but the staff. Have done a wonderful job of keeping the line moving and getting food out at a very reasonable pace. I ordered a BLT + A and it was delicious! Definitely ranks in the top BLT sandwiches I've ever had. The lemonade is also superb and it's great to sip on for a hot summer's day. The staff is very friendly and they were all very happy to help answer questions or offer refills on drinks. read more

This was a super pleasant lunch stop on our travels! I ordered a baked potato & the sweet cashier told me how humongous their potatoes were & suggested I might want to order from the kids menu. It was the perfect size! My husband had the beef horseradish sandwich, which he devoured. Delicious! Just wish there was one closer to my home (W side of Houston-hint, hint!). Highly recommend this place! read more

I would have to say this visit will not get very high reviews. The sandwiches were cold and the pickle spear that was ordered with each sandwich was left out.
