I drive from Houston to the Longview/Tyler area multiple times a year, and I'm guilty of planning my trips to coincide with lunch or dinner from Wienerschnitzel. Those who know me well know that I've spent $200 on A5 grade Kobe Beef in Japan. They also know that I put hot dogs on the same culinary pedestal. The service here has always been wonderful, be it at the window or drive-thru. But my last two visits were a little less than satisfactory. Long story short, I've arrived around 11 a.m. on both previous visits and, as I have continued north of U.S. 59 toward my destination, my hot dogs from this location have had the consistency of something that has been on a convenience store roller for multiple hours. Further, the kraut on my most recent visit tasted like they ran it through rock tumbler alongside aluminum foil. Besides fried okra, hot dogs are my favorite food in the world. Not only have I checked in at hot dog joints and called them "Mecca," I've also attended City Council meetings and encouraged them to attract more hot dog places. This place needs to do better. I understand that employees probably arrive at the joint around 9 a.m. But could the manager ease up on the throttle with tossing dogs on the grill immediately? And the kraut ... it had a strong metallic taste this time around. I'm a little spoiled on kraut, since I make my own, but I can still stomach the canned stuff. This was beyond that. Will I return here? Yep. Hopefully, my next trip will yield some fresher dogs. read more

I love the ice creams and banana splits. If kids are taking the order, they usually mess up and the owner is always more than willing to make it right. Very friendly place. It's great fast food with amazing fries. I like the chili dogs and my son loves the burgers. The have a nice setting outside where you can sit and eat or you can take it to go in your car. Prices are not bad. Great deserts lol. read more

Tasty quick pit stop while roadtripping thru TX. So rare to find an assortment of veggie dogs available for my vegan hubby. Order online via GH was easy and seamless. Moreover food was freshly made, delicious and satisfying. Would definitely try again. read more

This place is my all time favorite. I grew up on the three for three. It is a real treat as i only eat schnitzel once every three months. My favorite item on the menu is chili cheese burger so so good. Well I stopped in for my visit once every three months the other day. i order corn dogs, chili cheese dog, chili cheese fries, and two chili cheeseburgers. Let me tell you, the chili cheese burgers tasted like they were warmed up from the night before. This is extremely disappointment was pretty gross, and tasted stale, cold, and dry. I should have taken it back, but I was thinking maybe the next burger will be better.. it wasnt . Next time I'll just request that they make it fresh. Just a bummer. read more

Hotdogs are out of this world. Sauerkraut hotdogs. And the fruit loop shake Service is great. Bathrooms could be better. But overall a 9/10.

The workers all were very nice and worked hard to get our food out to us. However, the manager stood at the drive thru window talking to a friend who was blocking the window in their vehicle from other customers. In the 20-25 minutes we waited for our food the manager never once left the window and kept cutting side eyes at our vehicle and the employees who were actually working. One of the employees had to come out of the building to bring us our food, drinks and to take our money since we could not pull up to the actual drive thru window. read more

The hot dogs are good, hamburgers not so much. Lots of traffic noise. Almost every time I have been here the kid that takes the order messes it up. But they usually make up for it with a free ice cream or something. The deserts are amazing. Not a lot of parking or seating. You are seated by the drive through so you get to hear everyone's orders. My son loves to go here. It's one of his favorites. If you eat like I do it can get pretty pricy. Not a bad place to go. read more

Uhm.... Wow. I would like to preface by saying I am not a wiener person. Yeah go ahead and laugh at that get it all out buster. So I did *NOT* order a wiener still want to review this place because I'm pretty wowed. My husband and I ordered a banana split, Hot fudge Sunday , a watermelon lemonade & pretzel w/ cheese. All right so I've had a lot of Dairy Queen in my years so I'm pretty spoiled expectations were high. And I have to say... It was pretty delicious. Generous portions, the ice cream is great, all of that. As for the drink I am not a big fan of lemonade however if you like Jolly ranchers or things that taste like Jolly ranchers you need to order the watermelon lemonade. My favorite thing was my pretzel and cheese I have a thing about pretzels and finding pretzels anywhere like that is difficult ( anyone else remember when all of the stores had a snack bar.. Pretzel was soft and delicious I could've eaten two more honestly. The showstopper was definitely the Cheese. I was leery on it , because I have a bad experience with cheese in a cup... but man. Have you had beer cheese??? OK if you have not have beer cheese you need to have beer cheese but that is exactly what it taste like rich , thick consistency. I ate like beast from beauty and the beast when he was eating his oatmeal. Yeah that was me. That scene. Definitely this place is an asset to Lufkin guys ... give it a go. I always go through the drive thru and it is always a great experience. I have never gotten an attitude from an employee or cold food from this place so that is great, but not a huge fan of their chili. They do have a lot of things to select from so don't base it off the chili. Me and the wife like their Sundaes, Hot Dogs especially the Junkyard Dog, Corn Dogs, Jalapeno Poppers, Thousand Island Fries, Drink selection is awesome and prices are great. read more
