I will not give you a long review. This is a chain restaurant. Sign up for their frequent eaters program and get at least free chips and salsa or a free drink. Chain restaurants always get 3 stars from me unless they do something crazy good or crazy bad. I did not have any issues while dining. My server was really attentive. They may have some type of lunch special or overall special/promotion going, so check their website before going. Plan to increase your back accordingly. You can pay your entire bill via a tablet at the table. It's a chain restaurant, people. This is slow fast food!

We hadn't been to a Chili's in many years so we thought we would give it a try . Our arrival was not the warm welcoming experience that you would like, instead the host and hostess could not decide were to seat us (so many choices and so many dirty tables!). Finally we were seated (the table top was wet enough to float a battleship). Our server was very friendly and she brought us a basket of greasy chips and watery salsa. Neither were tasty so we sent them back. My wife ordered the Chipotle Chicken Fresh Mex Bowl and I ordered the Quesadilla Explosion Salad. Both looked terrific on the menu pictures and the descriptions sounded marvelous. The execution was not as marvelous. the Chipotle bowl was a meager portion that was flavorful but definitely not worth the price. The Quesadilla salad was served on a flat plate with greasy fried tacos chips coated with melted cheese (not the soft , plumb cheese -filled goodness that was pictured on the menu) surrounding the lettuce and chicken salad. The dressing bland and overall the salad was not worth the price. No we didn't speak to a manager of complain. Why you ask? We decided it wasn't worth it. Chili's is a Dallas Texas based chain and if they can't figure out how to consistently prepare and serve terrific Tex-Mex food then our opinion would have little impact on the product. Sorry to say, in the future we will dine at other local Tex-Mex restaurants that do consistently serve great food at a good value.

We've now visited The Mill House in Lufkin twice, and both experiences were excellent!…read more On our first visit, the service was outstanding--our server was incredibly attentive, polite, and made us feel welcome right away. The restaurant itself is beautiful and very clean. We actually felt a little underdressed when we walked in, but they treated us like we fit right in, even though we showed up in sweats. We started with the garlic dip, which was super garlicky, cheesy, and absolutely delicious--a must-try. My wife ordered the Mill House Pasta, which was rich, cheesy, and full of flavor, with perfectly cooked chicken and shrimp. I ordered a burger that was slightly on the dry side but still very tasty, and the truffle fries were fantastic--crispy, flavorful, and addictive. Overall, it was easily a 4.5-star visit with great service, great food, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. And we did go back-one week later-this time sitting at the bar. We both ordered cocktails, and the drinks were excellent. I had two different styles of Old Fashioneds and really enjoyed both. My wife had two martinis and loved them. For food, we tried the chicken Caesar wrap with fries, and my wife ordered the half sandwich and salad combo. The wrap was honestly one of the best I've ever had--the chicken had a great char, and there was plenty of dressing. My wife really enjoyed her BLT; it had the perfect amount of bacon and was put together really well. At this point, I think we've found our new go-to spot in Downtown Lufkin. Can't wait to go back!
