    Good service

Stopped for a Mexican breakfast after our morning work out. Service was excellent! Coffee was good. My wife and I both had Midas with extra Jalapeños. It was good but not excellent. The portion seemed a little small and the corn chips could have been fried a little more. The potatoes served with the migas were excellent. We didn't like their retried beans. They were watery. The bacon also had a funny taste. We will have to try lunch some time because this place is close to our work.

    Torta de jamon.

I've been wanting to stop for ages, and I recently tried their food truck so I decided to stop at their brick and mortar sit-down location. I came in around 9:30am and there were three tables with patrons already there. One of them got their order to go and left while I was placing my order. I took a quick look over the menu and ordered a fully dressed torta de jamon, the lady who took my order was very friendly and got right to work. A few minutes later another nice lady handed me my bag to go and a friendly, "have a good day" as I left. I brought the sandwich home and it was excellent, I'll definitely be going back!

Pro tip there is a huge amount of road construction around the restaurant so plan accordingly. We were greeted and sat promptly. Karen our server came and greeted us and got our drink order. I went to the restroom, it was clean but in need of a cosmetic upgrade. The restaurant itself was clean and had a Louisiana feel. My wife ordered the Salmon med rare, and she said it was excellent. I ordered the shrimp quesadillas and I was impressed by the buttered flavor of the flour tortilla that was crispy on the edges. I also was pleased with the amount of shrimp and cheese. The guacamole and the pico were fresh and tasty. For appetizers tried the Pistolette and were not overly impressed. The Boudin Balls and sauce were very good. I think they could have been a little spicier, but they were great. The bread pudding was just average in my opinion, but my wife loved it. My wife and I agreed that this will be one our go to stops when driving through Lufkin.

Having humble & genteel personality while being a menu wizard, she made me feel right at home with her hospitality. My Oysters Royale cooked by Michael were fantastically perfect & delicious. I should've gotten the dozen instead of the 1/2. Being it's my first time, I had to make sure they were on point first & they were! I loved the charro bean side that came with rice & sausage bits topped with pico. The hush puppies are decent with some garlic butter you might want to dive into like it's the Summer Olympic swimming relays. The music and atmosphere was nice & festive. The booths are comfortable & being solo, the 2 person sized ones were perfect for me. Lufkin has a mainstay that most towns would be jealous to have. Come eat here & leave satisfied. Bring all your friends! You can't go wrong here with Tia Jaunita's. You just might want to camp out here.

From what we could see, the kitchen looked clean and the drive-thru area was well kept. After a few minutes looking over the menu, a sweet young lady took our order and asked us to pull forward to the waiting area. About 20 minutes later, she brought out our food, explained how everything was packed, and we headed home. Once we got home, we were impressed with how nicely everything was packaged. We ordered the crawfish chowder--excellent, creamy, and loaded with meat and veggies! We also got the boudin egg rolls, which were large, crispy, and very tasty. And then the King Trio: King crab legs, Dungeness clusters, shrimp, potatoes, and corn. There was a great amount of King crab, and we added an extra Dungeness cluster, so it was definitely plenty of food. Everything was cooked perfectly, though a few bites were a bit salty--but still delicious. We'll definitely be going back to try more dishes... and we won't try to walk in next time! Bring cash for a tip! I didn't a felt really bad... I'll hook her up next time!
