I LOVE Chili's and it's so conveniently close especially if you live on campus or close to campus so you can walk or take the bus. This is a very nice, but sometimes crowded location. Given Chili's proximity to the NAU campus, the place is always packed! Yes, the food is typical Chili's fare, but because a great many students who work here are also in NAU's hospitality program, the service and food prep is excellent! Walked in and the host was standing at the host stand but turned away talking to a server for a ridiculous amount of time before greeting us. We then got sat and the server was pretty slow at helping us and when he made his way over he rushed us and didn't give us any time to actually tell him what we needed. Didn't get a refill on either of my drinks for a pretty long time. Brought out the food and didn't give us time to ask for condiments, the ones that were supposed to come with the meals. Let me just start with this simple concept. A restaurant that does not have butter anywhere in the establishment. A simple kitchen product that one would expect any restaurant to have. Not these guys, they only have what corporate sends them in prepackaged containers. That alone should scare most people off. I and a friend stopped here on a Sunday evening starving. I hadn't had anything all day and was ready for some food. So, I foolishly ordered the ribeye dinner. First off, I should have known that a $22 ribeye dinner cannot be good and by golly, it sure wasn't. The broccoli ( which I wanted some butter for ) was straight out the freezer and not even hot. The loaded mashed potatoes were some sort of synthetic pile trimmed with a yellow zest of what was supposed to be cheese, but it wouldn't melt and some pea gravel claiming to be bacon bits. The ribeye was a ribeye, because I found a small piece of bone stuck to one of the gobs of fat and gristle while I navigated the meat. It was a delightful 3/8 inch slice for fast cooking. When the waiter asked how things were, I was quite honest and said "everything sucks, but I was starving". He immediately walked away and never approached us again until we had to make him bring our check. The hostess was useless and lazy as she simply pointed at a table when we entered and told us to grab some menu's. The floors were dirty which I ignored and attributed to those Sunday NFL fans. All in all, this culinary meth lab is anything but an actual restaurant. They have complete disregard for customer service or quality of their product, and you'll never find butter anywhere in the place! read more

I went here last night with my girlfriend. I am usually not the type to leave a bad review but this visit was very disappointing. We both ordered modest meals and waited 50 minutes for one to come out and an additional 5 minutes for the other to come out. This was very surprising to me on a Tuesday night. The food was good but came with very little meat (which was the main part in both dishes). We both visited the restroom during our visit and agreed that the cleanliness or lack of it was unacceptable especially during a global pandemic. Tonight my fiancé and I went to this chili's location and ordered the meal for 2 for $25. We ended up ordering our waters and beers right away we also ordered an appetizer of chips and salsa which never arrived. When we see the waiter (I believe Dino) came out he had our entrees in hand and He completely forgot the chips which we had to remind him but at this point it was pointless because the appetizer is an appetizer not a side with you main entree. The above photo shows my "ribs" which were literally ALL bone as you can see in the image and that's how they all were and it was quite disappointing. All in all towards the end we ended up just paying our tab because we had no further assistance with our waiter and we never got our desert. We didn't bother mentioning it because at the point it was all a disappointment. One of our frequent spots! The food comes out quick and hot! The restaurant was clean and looked well managed. Our wait time was only 5 minutes which was great because it looked a lot busier when we pulled up. However, there were a lot of empty tables and people waiting so I wasn't sure if they were understaffed or just missing a few employees. Our server did fine! He messed up our drinks and had to come back to reassure our order but he was very polite and friendly. It took a minute for us to get our check but other than that the food was great. I am visiting from Tucson and as a vegan there's not a lot of restaurant options. I ordered my usual vegan tortillas, rice, beans, and guacamole with alcoholic drinks. Our waiter was friendly and courteous, but that's about all I can say about this location. We frequent Chilis and this was a horrible experience. We waited for twenty minutes for drinks, of which we had to remind our waiter three times for a soft drink, and over an hour an fifteen minutes for food to show up. At the time food was delivered only four out of five dishes arrived - the fifth dish arrived with only half the items, which were only delivered after guest finished meal. Food was mediocre, not hot, and had been sitting somewhere in the kitchen. There was another long wait for the dessert to come, which we would have skipped except it was part of our meal deal. Unfortunately I can't recommend this location - understand that places are short staffed but this was beyond frustrating... a two plus hour endeavor for meals that take maybe 10-15 minutes to organize in the kitchen. I've never been a fan of Chili's, but have been to this location 2 times because co-workers wanted a place to meet up for large groups. This past Friday (01/04/2019) 15 of us met up for a going away thing and 7 of us ended up with FOOD POISONING...that's over 46% of us!!! Would you take the gamble of eating horrible food in exchange for a 46% chance of getting so sick you end up in the ER? I never will again. As if food poisoning isn't enough, Chili's food has always been subpar, but this time my burger was burnt on the outside yet underdone in the middle. Stopped in for dinner with my boyfriend the other night and we were not impressed. We've been to other locations but this one wasn't the greatest. Due to recent health problems and allergies, my diet is extremely limited. It's a pain finding restaurants on vacation we can both enjoy. So I figured, Chili's must have something I can eat and we will both be happy. Not exactly how that turned out. Our server was nice, and I know how difficult and annoying it can be trying to accommodate someone with diet restrictions. But, you also need to understand that those people need the assurance they will be taken care of. I settled on the salmon, told her my allergies (so the kitchen or a manager would be aware), and that was it. I'm not sure if she told a manager or the kitchen about it; but it would've been nice to have someone come out and say,"hey just so you know, we are doing what we can to avoid cross contamination while cooking your food." This is always the standard at every restaurant I have worked at as well. I know it's not a 100% guarantee, and I'm aware there might be some cross contamination even when gloves are changed and the grill is cleaned, but it certainly lessens the chance. My salmon tasted alright, definitely felt sick later though. My boyfriend said his food wasn't even that good (I think he ordered some wings and cheddar bites). Coming from a guy who will eat just about anything, it must've been pretty bad. It seems like the menu changed quite a bit since we last dined here and we weren't too impressed with it. read more

Let's just say - we left. First of all - there's a pandemic, take precautions! I was trying to allow social distancing between me and the guy at the hostess stand - and the hostess was looking right at me - but another group just came up right between me and her - no space - and she proceeded to take them and seat them! I was incredulous! So needless to say - we had to wait for a table of 5. We said my mother was 92 and couldn't stand that long as the waiting seats were closed off. They brought a chair and put it right in the middle of the walkway and were told we had to wait 10 minutes. And honestly the seating that we was not spaced out at all - it was table to table - no gap tables. Second - My husband went to the bathroom and when he came out he immediately said - leave! Came in to grab some food and was impressed by the overall experience. We were seated in a timely manner and our drink orders were taken. The drinks and appetizers came out very quickly. I never expected to be writing a review for any Chile's in any state in our great union. This is the kind of chain I never go to. Oh, years ago, when I first discovered it in Florida, I thought it was the cat's meow. But then I grew up, my taste buds got more refined, and a looked in disdain at the name and the people who would patronize it. If anyone had told me I'd be giving this place five stars, I would have thought they'd had a psychological breakdown. But here we were in Flagstaff, on our way to Sedona. It was raining and cold. It was late-ish. The first place we tried to go to had just closed. We wanted to take a break, eat some dinner, and be on our way. So we decided to "slum" and stop at Chili's. What a revelation!! We decided to go with the 2 for $20 special, and started with the Guacamole and Chips. Stupendous! The chips were light, crisp, and not overly salted. The guacamole was a huge portion, bigger than what you'd pay $10 or more at a high-end restaurant. And it was better! It tasted freshly made, with big chunks of avocado, tomato, and onion, and well-spiced. I had Margarita Chicken, and it was very, very good. There were two pieces of chicken, and after all that guacamole, I couldn't finish it. Hubby ordered Cajun Pasta with chicken, but he didn't want the Alfredo sauce it came with. No problem - the waiter cheerfully said he could get it with marinara sauce. Despite the fact that we weren't drinking anything except water, and our bill was going to be relatively small, our server, Chris S., was attentive, helpful, and just downright nice. We were on our way to stay at a timeshare resort, so we knew we'd have a fridge. Chris brought the box for our chicken, and offered to pack up the chips and salsa (which was also very good) too. We should have gotten an order of guacamole to go, but thought of it too late!! I'm hoping that the Flagstaff Chili's isn't an aberration, and I'll be trying it out in a couple of different states soon to see if they know something in Flagstaff that the rest of Chili's doesn't know.
