    Chili rolleno plate

Cute little restaurant right off the interstate. Has truck parking or there is a TA truck stop across the street that you can walk over from. They do charge 3.5% card fee so don't forget your cash like we did. It's seat yourself and there's plenty of tables and booths to choose from. The dining room and restrooms were very clean. We were promptly greeted and received our drinks. They serve breakfast all day and have a variety of items on the menu. It's a good mix of New Mexico food meets traditional cuisines. I opted for the chili rolleno plate which comes with 2 sides. They are lightly breaded and packed full of cheese. Only downside is the peppers were a little stringy. The beans and potatoes were amazing had great flavor hot and fresh. The green and red sauces are both flavorful and great addition to the dish. Chips and salsa were good but I do think the salsa is out of jar but it's not a deal breaker by any means. Hubby got the huevos rancheros he said his food came out super hot and fresh. The carnitas was shredded which made it easy to eat. The eggs were cooked perfectly. He would absolutely recommend giving this a try. Server wasn't super attentive so made getting drink refills a bit rough. Other than that the food came out super fast, hot and fresh and would definitely return if in the area.

Been here a few times with my buddies. Good old fashioned place with a hearty menu covering breakfast, lunch and dinner. Had the Huevos Rancheros over easy smothered in Green with a tortilla and some carnitas on the side. Excellent. But what caught my eye was the table next to us. The photo says it all. Bravo Chili Hills. I'll be back for sure.

Everything is homemade. Everything. The tortillas. The salsa. The chips. The beans. Served enough for a small family. Delicious.

The food was delicious. Right next to our motel for the night so being able to walk over and get right in was perfect. The food was great. Our waitress Tawny was very personable. A great way to start our day.

Waitress didn't put in one order and when they brought our other 4 orders out, she went to check on it and then came back and asked what she ordered. We ate our entire meal, 30 minutes, she still hasn't gotten her meal. We ask another waiter and he checks and says they will start making it now. It was ordered 30 minutes ago when we got our food!! Keep in mind we ordered our food 45 mins before that. We are now held hostage waiting for this quesadilla to be made. Absolutely outrageous and even though the staff was nice, it was ridiculous that the quesadilla got put in the back of the line behind all the other tables' orders (10+) that came in after us. We just drove 10 hours today and are utterly exhausted and just want to go to our hotel and rest. Do not come here. Chaotic and just terrible experience. Update: it took 50 minutes after the order didn't come out to make a quesadilla and it was horrible!! Bathrooms were also not clean.

    Nothing pretentious here.

I decided to stay with the Mexican food theme. I had a taco, an enchilada, and a chile relleno. Everything was good! I haven't had a good chile relleon in a long time, and this one was good. The sauce was good on the enchilada. Everything was good. I had a tickle in my throat, and the chile was a bit spicy and made me cough, but it was good. I enjoyed the food and the company. If I am in the area again I will come back.

The restrooms were retro, very 90s, run down but clean, and if I was running from the Sinaloa Cartel...I could picture myself hiding in a place like this. Almost like a mix between the films Memento and Breaking Bad. But yes, Lisa's Grill. I had to stop in at this Southwestern Flare Diner! It's situated inside the truck stop, with a very 70s & 80s atomic age diners vibe like that one scene in the Kingsmen movie. Loved the ceiling, bold colored red, glossy, with silver...makes Johnny Rockets look artificial. So I had to try their top picks on the menu. The Red Rooster -- country fried steak with red hot sauce, and their hatch chilli burgers. The food was ok, Id probably rate a 3.5/5. Menu is heavily influenced by Spanish cuisine. If your looking for a quick breakfast along route 66 in Central New Mexico, this is a good spot to take a break. Overall service, environment food I'd give it a 4/5. Seems pretty popular amongst the locals, and place is pretty packed for a lunch run. Yea, definitely come check it out!

Next, we split the cassoulet - a duck confit leg quarter, Toulouse sausage, pork belly, and carrots nestled into a bed of white beans and herbs with a side of sourdough and French butter. The place is popular, especially given very high quality of pastry products and the line is often a bit long (given so many locals/tourists stop by this place)...and simply..the place is one of the best pastry shops in Santa Fe. Parking is a little limited in their own parking lot and the shop is sort of crowded, but you can always park on a street outside (albeit some small parking fees). Overall, I really enjoyed the pastries here...although I think the drink (I got matcha latte...true, true, matcha latte isn't much of a western drink..so maybe I'm wrong to judge a restaurant by this drink) wasn't so much of my highlights. I would, definitely recommend this place for pastries for sure though!
