We love this restaurant!! We have been coming here for over thirty years! The family that owns it and runs it is stellar. The food is delicious, (I always get the green chile rellano and my husband gets the enchilada plate) The salsa is unique and tasty, chips are thin and crispy, and their green chile sauce gives it the perfect finishing touch! Nice music plays softly in the background, lots of oldies that are fun to hear. There are lots of long time customers, which should also tell you a lot! I could keep going... This little place has been in Albuquerque for many years. It is a small, family run business, mostly managed by an elderly couple. They serve good New Mexican food at amazing prices. Where else can you get chips and salsa AND 2 sopaipillas with your $7.50 enchilada plate in 2025? They mostly get senior regulars and little other business. I do highly recommend this small business. This place has a super local feel and flavor. Very much your typical New Mexican food. What I did enjoy very much enjoy was the Chile Relleno the batter was very crunchy and not soggy even though it was smothered, I loved that. The red chile had a very home made flavor. The service was very friendly and very personal. Everyone that was there was talking to each other by first name, customers and employees. So they have regulars. They were playing some cool music. This may be my new favorite place for great NM food! I grew up here, eating at small, family owned restaurants like this but now return to visit family. This is one of the few of those gems left. Service was friendly, food not so great. I got take out. Everything was piled up with what I would guess was an enchilada on the bottom, which was mushy; next a tamale that tasted like canned, and then a relleno with stringy green chili with a fried crust that was hard and burnt. Went here for the first time a few weeks ago and knew it was going to be amazing after we sat down. More and more regulars came in and the people running the place knew them by name and what they were going to order. I got the Carne Adovada with two eggs and it was tasty, a little hot for me, but I cleaned my plate it was that good. Will go back again. read more

2 sopapillas with your meal. FREE!!!! Salsa is very creamy without a heavy onion influence, which I like. It's got good flavor but could use a little more heat in my opinion. Chips are nice and thin, served cold...me personally, I like when they come out fresh and hot, but they are still good. Great Mexican rice. The place is tiny, it's a dinner, that's what you should expect going in. The staff was friendly, funny and seemed to know everyone that came in. The food is cheap, like super cheap for eating out, three people for under 20 people. For the price and the place, I think it's kind of awesome. The food was good and more than what I'd expect for such a low price. I enjoy a wide variety of restaurants, but I have different expectations for each one too. This place has character and is worth your time if you like good food, as a really reasonable price. It's the kinda of divey places I appreciate. Pure worthless and terrible. Food had no flavor green chili was white watery soup salsa tomato sauce.stay away cook a jerk.

We showed up with a coupon and that put us off on the wrong foot. The lady behind the register acted like we were putting them out. Then we had the gall to ask them to put the chili on the side or just chopped green as my wife is vegetarian. We were told we don't serve your kind here and if you want vegetarian go somewhere else. Stopped by for lunch. It's a small, super clean, family restaurant featuring New Mexican food. My companion and I both had beef enchiladas with red chile that came with pinto beans and a choice of rice or papitas, and a side of four sopapilllas. The food was plentiful and very good. It was spicy enough for me, but not as spicey as Sadie's, which I can't handle. Staff were friendly and attentive. Checked the breakfast menu, good prices. Overall good value for your $. read more

The atmosphere is a bit wanting, but this restaurant is run by a nice family. You get free chips, and they are light, crunchy, and tasty. The salsa is delightful. The chile relleno is lightly coated, and the cheese is hot and runny. Coupled with a cheese enchilada and whole beans on the side the meal is ample. It is all wonderful, and fairly priced. Virginia's red chile is great, but it is the green sauce. . . ah, the green. Very nice. Really, I hope this newer restaurant can survive the early stages of start up, because it will be a small landmark if it does. It has become one of my favorites. read more
